C&C HOLIDAY JAMJAR ICE HOTEL HELL: PARTY
WHO: AHAHAHAHA. Just... just tag yourselves in.
WHERE: The Gorsewick Hotel
WHEN: December 19th. 5PM-7PM for setup, 7PM onward for dinner.
WARNINGS: Let's just cover for your basics unless something more specific comes up.
SUMMARY: Miles Edgeworth and Remus Lupin are hosting the second comm-wide holiday party and have rented out the dining hall in the Gorsewick for the night. Everyone comes in for food, warmth, and (relatively... hopefully...) civil company. Whether or not they can leave is another story.
FORMAT: IF IT FEELS GOOD, DO IT! Long prose, action brackets, rapidfire dialogue, present tense, past tense--whatever floats your narrative boat!
The Gorsewick is not all that large a hotel, although it would very much like to grow up to be one someday, a mere five stories tall and having only a small parking garage to its name. The owner is clearly an optimistic sort of fellow, building a place like this in the City despite the risk the existence of imPorts poses to it and the hits the tourism industry has taken from their antics; bigger places than this have been smashed to pieces by enormous grey lizards with bad cases of heartburn.
Sadly, it just isn't paying off. At a time when people should be on vacation, packing his rooms to the max, the Gorsewick is... really, really empty. The groups renting out the dining hall are pretty much the only things keeping it afloat this month.
Still, appearances must be upheld, and although it is mildly understaffed, it is currently no less well-cared for. The handful of people on duty that night are friendly and the place is clean as a whistle--no bugs, no rats, no dust, nothing like that. He may be running a sinking ship, but the owner is damned determined to keep it a tidy one on the way down.
Come on in.

"I can't wait to try the food, but before I forget..."
She removed a present she'd been hiding behind her back, offering it to James. It was wrapped in bright gold wrapping paper, the folds perfect.
"I figured I could get away with not waiting until Christmas since this is a Christmas party. I hope you like it."
no subject
"Brilliant, I got you one, too," he added, and offered her a small neatly-wrapped box. "I thought it, er, suited you."
no subject
"I asked Sirius what you might like," she said, blushing lightly at the conversation that had followed. "I hope I made a good choice."
no subject
"Well, he'd know, I think, so I'm sure you did." He inspected the package, grinning some more. "Did you, er -- want me to open it right now?"
no subject
She hadn't hesitated in getting it for him, despite Sirius' warning that he'd want to enjoy it with her. Not that she wanted him to. Because she didn't. Honestly.

He glanced at the package once more, then back to Lily. "Maybe we should do it at the same time," he added. "It's more fun that way, anyway."
no subject
"Alright then," she said. "On the count of three."
no subject
"Scarface! Brilliant, Lily, thank you!"
no subject
"Oh, James, they're amazing," she told him, eyes almost perfectly matching the jewelry.
She looked up at him, pleased to see the smile on his face.
"Sirius told me you like Al Pacino," she said. "I'd hoped you didn't already have it."
no subject
"D'you like him, too?" He inquired. "We could watch it together, if you like."
no subject
"I'd like that," she said with a smile. "I can't say I know much of him, but I'm sure it will be a good film regardless."
As she spoke, she compared the earrings to her dress, immensely pleased that they went well enough for her to put them on. She did so, pulling her hair up so they could be easily seen.
no subject
"Of course it will, Lils, it's Al Pacino. Almost as good as Clint Eastwood, but not quite." He smiled even more when he saw her put the earrings on, pleased that he had managed to pick the right colors.
"I'm glad you like them."
no subject
She tried not to blush, but she found herself flushing in pleasure at the nickname. He'd never called her Lils before.

Her rapid acceptance of James had her reeling as well. Though, now that she thought about it, she'd never properly spoken to him before she arrive, so how could she have possibly known how wonderful he was?

"I should probably wish him a happy Christmas," she said, the part of her that missed Severus taking over just a bit.

"I'll see you soon," she promised before cutting her way through the crowd over to Severus.
