C&C HOLIDAY JAMJAR ICE HOTEL HELL: PARTY

WHO: AHAHAHAHA. Just... just tag yourselves in.
WHERE: The Gorsewick Hotel
WHEN: December 19th. 5PM-7PM for setup, 7PM onward for dinner.
WARNINGS: Let's just cover for your basics unless something more specific comes up.
SUMMARY: Miles Edgeworth and Remus Lupin are hosting the second comm-wide holiday party and have rented out the dining hall in the Gorsewick for the night. Everyone comes in for food, warmth, and (relatively... hopefully...) civil company. Whether or not they can leave is another story.
FORMAT: IF IT FEELS GOOD, DO IT! Long prose, action brackets, rapidfire dialogue, present tense, past tense--whatever floats your narrative boat!

The Gorsewick is not all that large a hotel, although it would very much like to grow up to be one someday, a mere five stories tall and having only a small parking garage to its name. The owner is clearly an optimistic sort of fellow, building a place like this in the City despite the risk the existence of imPorts poses to it and the hits the tourism industry has taken from their antics; bigger places than this have been smashed to pieces by enormous grey lizards with bad cases of heartburn.

Sadly, it just isn't paying off. At a time when people should be on vacation, packing his rooms to the max, the Gorsewick is... really, really empty. The groups renting out the dining hall are pretty much the only things keeping it afloat this month.

Still, appearances must be upheld, and although it is mildly understaffed, it is currently no less well-cared for. The handful of people on duty that night are friendly and the place is clean as a whistle--no bugs, no rats, no dust, nothing like that. He may be running a sinking ship, but the owner is damned determined to keep it a tidy one on the way down.

Come on in.

There was liking blue, and then there was retaining some degree of taste in clothing. Trowa turned at the sound of Bakura's voice and forced himself not to react to the sight of what looked like a bunch of walking pixels walking right off a broken screen.

He looked tired, what with some unpleasant purplish-red rings having started to form under his eyes, but they were the only things giving away his present state of being. If not for their appearance, he would have seemed perfectly normal.

"I said I would," he replied, walking over in an attempt to get his friend to stop flailing his arm like a madman. "The trip was fine. We picked up a rarity."

Note the careful use of the word 'we'--as he obviously didn't go himself, and they had to get something in as proof, he'd hired someone to take his place. Honestly, the things a person had to go through to keep a double life free from unpleasant crossover...

It had never been said that Bakura had good taste in clothes. In fact, it had often been said quite the opposite.

"Heeeh, you did? What sort?"

Bakura actually hadn't had much idea what Trowa's faked agenda for the trip had been either. Just that his friend was off in Russia somewhere for something. Horribly inattentive of him, but he had been a little distracted at the time. As he often was.

"Blakiston's fish owl," he said, keeping his eyes on Bakura's face and not the sweater. Or the coat. Honestly. Where was Quatre when you needed him around to give advice?

Not so much horribly inattentive as 'the more vague I can keep your knowledge of my trip, the better'. He'd left out a lot of the supposed details on purpose. It would have been pretty bad to tell a friend which hotel he was going to be staying in, only for the front desk to say he'd never even had a reservation should said friend have the idea to call it.

As if Bakura would do something like that. At most he would have just texted your comm. Really, how needy did Trowa think Bakura was?

... don't answer that.

"Heeeh, I've never even heard of that!" he smiled, oblivious to the fact that his choice in clothing was causing Trowa to avoid looking at it. He was actually a little proud of the choice in sweater, as it was a break from his usual patterns (read: stripes) and a nice bright colour. Very festive, right?
