C&C HOLIDAY JAMJAR ICE HOTEL HELL: PARTY

WHO: AHAHAHAHA. Just... just tag yourselves in.
WHERE: The Gorsewick Hotel
WHEN: December 19th. 5PM-7PM for setup, 7PM onward for dinner.
WARNINGS: Let's just cover for your basics unless something more specific comes up.
SUMMARY: Miles Edgeworth and Remus Lupin are hosting the second comm-wide holiday party and have rented out the dining hall in the Gorsewick for the night. Everyone comes in for food, warmth, and (relatively... hopefully...) civil company. Whether or not they can leave is another story.
FORMAT: IF IT FEELS GOOD, DO IT! Long prose, action brackets, rapidfire dialogue, present tense, past tense--whatever floats your narrative boat!

The Gorsewick is not all that large a hotel, although it would very much like to grow up to be one someday, a mere five stories tall and having only a small parking garage to its name. The owner is clearly an optimistic sort of fellow, building a place like this in the City despite the risk the existence of imPorts poses to it and the hits the tourism industry has taken from their antics; bigger places than this have been smashed to pieces by enormous grey lizards with bad cases of heartburn.

Sadly, it just isn't paying off. At a time when people should be on vacation, packing his rooms to the max, the Gorsewick is... really, really empty. The groups renting out the dining hall are pretty much the only things keeping it afloat this month.

Still, appearances must be upheld, and although it is mildly understaffed, it is currently no less well-cared for. The handful of people on duty that night are friendly and the place is clean as a whistle--no bugs, no rats, no dust, nothing like that. He may be running a sinking ship, but the owner is damned determined to keep it a tidy one on the way down.

Come on in.

Where Blue's slight gesture indicated, Ruka's attention followed, eventually picking out Leo from the crowd with a nod. She hadn't ever spoken to Leo, as far as she could recall, but it was obvious that he was important to Blue, and vice versa. As long as Blue was here it probably wouldn't be necessary, and certainly it wasn't something he was outright asking for, but Ruka would make sure to keep an eye out for Leo for the rest of the night.

It was an acknowledgment and promise so quickly and naturally decided, it barely crossed her mind before it'd been tucked away when Blue continued to speak—for as he did, everything else was immediately put out of mind. To his apologetic smile she offered one of her own, surprised and a little embarrassed. "That's very kind of you," she said, and managed to keep the you really don't have to from passing her lips. "But, right now, I can't give you an answer. Let me think about it?"

Blue nodded his consent, in no mood to be overbearing or insistent about such a thing. It was a foreign custom he was trying to comply with, after all, and he'd rather allow someone more familiar with it direct its course. He was trying to engage in it for the sake of engaging, but the sentiment behind it was something that wasn't restricted to dates or seasons. It would not be strange to him to wait a while for a reply.

He let the topic drop of its own accord, lifting his head and gazing about the room. There was a very dynamic buzz about the place, moreso than streets usually.

"Everyone here...We're all from other worlds, aren't we?"

If Blue was searching for an expert on Christmas Customs, Ruka was definitely not it. The holiday itself was hardly a big deal in Neo Domino, and even if it had been, with it just being her and Rua all the time, they wouldn't have and didn't bother with much of any of it. This would only be her second Western-style one.

As such, the change in topic was a welcome one, and she nodded firmly. "Mmhmm! Aside from the hotel staff, the caterers, and maybe half a dozen people renting rooms, I mean. Everyone else was brought here, the same as us."
