C&C HOLIDAY JAMJAR ICE HOTEL HELL: PARTY

WHO: AHAHAHAHA. Just... just tag yourselves in.
WHERE: The Gorsewick Hotel
WHEN: December 19th. 5PM-7PM for setup, 7PM onward for dinner.
WARNINGS: Let's just cover for your basics unless something more specific comes up.
SUMMARY: Miles Edgeworth and Remus Lupin are hosting the second comm-wide holiday party and have rented out the dining hall in the Gorsewick for the night. Everyone comes in for food, warmth, and (relatively... hopefully...) civil company. Whether or not they can leave is another story.
FORMAT: IF IT FEELS GOOD, DO IT! Long prose, action brackets, rapidfire dialogue, present tense, past tense--whatever floats your narrative boat!

The Gorsewick is not all that large a hotel, although it would very much like to grow up to be one someday, a mere five stories tall and having only a small parking garage to its name. The owner is clearly an optimistic sort of fellow, building a place like this in the City despite the risk the existence of imPorts poses to it and the hits the tourism industry has taken from their antics; bigger places than this have been smashed to pieces by enormous grey lizards with bad cases of heartburn.

Sadly, it just isn't paying off. At a time when people should be on vacation, packing his rooms to the max, the Gorsewick is... really, really empty. The groups renting out the dining hall are pretty much the only things keeping it afloat this month.

Still, appearances must be upheld, and although it is mildly understaffed, it is currently no less well-cared for. The handful of people on duty that night are friendly and the place is clean as a whistle--no bugs, no rats, no dust, nothing like that. He may be running a sinking ship, but the owner is damned determined to keep it a tidy one on the way down.

Come on in.

Mew noticed the mistletoe above them about one tenth of a second before Duck kissed her.

Oh. That explained it.

Mew just sort of blinked and very hesitantly pressed back a little, blushing her fair share too. She didn't... actually mind this. As far as people she'd kiss went... well, no time for that thought now. There were all sorts of other thoughts kipping through her head.

Mew pulled back after a second. "... Oh." was all she managed, all busy blinking and thinking.

"Um," Duck responded, fidgeting.

Well. That... was actually pretty nice.

"So... yeah."

Mew fidgeted a little too. It had been nice! Not that Mew intended to give any outward indication of that just yet, but still.

"Yeah..." she said, still unable to really do the full coherent sentence thing.

Duck was silent for a very long moment, fidgeting slightly. That had been... very sweet, and warm, and it left her a little tingly.

Suddenly she realized she was grinning from ear to ear. And that she had reached out to hold Mew's hand.

"Yeah."

[identity profile] pinkdoombubble.livejournal.com 2011-01-10 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
Well, from that grin Mew gathered that Duck had enjoyed it, too. Well, that was good. She'd feel bad if she had made Duck do something she didn't like.

Mew smiled back and kept her hand open for Duck to take.

As for words, they were probably ready to come by this point. But Mew thought it might be better if she didn't say anything here.

"Merry Christmas," Duck said softly, not really sure what else to say. After all, the kisses she'd witnessed or seen in ballets were... well, very dramatic. They broke spells, or they happened during moments of high emotion.

It was strange to think that it could just be warm and comfortable.

Mew smiled back, "Merry Christmas." she replied warmly. This really was nice, wasn't it? This feeling, whatever it was.

[identity profile] pas-de-ducks.livejournal.com 2011-01-10 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
"Um." She squeezed Mew's hand a little, the blush starting to spread across her cheeks again. "We're... still under the mistletoe."

It wasn't a complaint.

[identity profile] pinkdoombubble.livejournal.com 2011-01-10 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
Mew looked up for a second, then looked down and nodded. "We are."

Nothing resembling a complaint was coming from Mew.

[identity profile] pas-de-ducks.livejournal.com 2011-01-10 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
Duck fidgeted.

"So..."

Would it be too forward to ask if they could do that again? Did you even ask people about kissing? Being human was ridiculously confusing sometimes.

[identity profile] pinkdoombubble.livejournal.com 2011-01-10 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
Mew did a little as well.

"Well... I'm still under the mistletoe, right? And you kissed me, so..."

She leaned forward and kissed Duck, about how she had been kissed just a couple minutes before.

It was even nicer the second time around. She closed her eyes, fingers twining gently with Mew's, enjoying how warm and soft it felt.

She liked it. A lot.

Probably even a little more than dancing.

Mew twined her fingers back to help her, closing her eyes after a moment as well.

This was really, really nice. nicer than a lot of other things.
