Yukata shopping!
WHO: Shiro and Orihime
WHERE: To a city shop
WHEN: Before the Berry House New Year party (which makes this backdated before the backdated party yet to come)
WARNINGS: None.
SUMMARY: Shiro and Orihime are going to the a shop in the city that sells yukatas.
FORMAT: Whatever we feel like!
It was the last week of the year, and excitement was abound over the upcoming holiday. New Years Eve! Once the Christmas spirit had passed, but the void was quickly replaced with the festiveness of New Years. To Orihime, most of the house appeared to be enthused about the coming new year.
Things, as usual, were bustling and lively at the home. When she weren't working at the club, Orihime was flipping back and forth between putting up some leftover decorations and finding recipes for traditional foods for New Years. She had spent New Years alone before, but this year made it all the more exciting, since it was being spent with the people she cared about.
But of all the days to prepare for the part, today was an important day, and that was because she and Shiro were going to venture into the cold to go find yukatas to wear for their little event. She was in the process of getting her puffy winter jacket on, while hoping she wasn't making Shiro wait.
"Just one minute, Shiro-kun! This darn zipper isn't zipping!" She was trying so hard to get it to work, because they had important shopping to do!

"Just one minute, Shiro-kun! This darn zipper isn't zipping!" She was trying so hard to get it to work, because they had important shopping to do!

"Here, lemme see that!" He crouches down in front of her and identifies the issue; a bit of cloth that had gotten stuck in the zipper. He removes it, then looks up at her. "There! Try it now!"
no subject
"Thank you!" Orihime replies, sticking her mittens back on her hands. She does one final check to make sure her hat is secure on her head, and then looks ready and raring to go. By the looks of it too, Shiro looks like he's been ready for a little while now. "I think we're good to go now!"
Orihime was excited to go out, regardless of the chilly winter weather. However, upon grabbing the door handle and opening the door, a gust of cold wind swept into the house for a second, making her realize just how chilly it is. "Ehe, into the cold, blizzard-y tundra," she tries to crack a joke.

He turns his head down and away from the blast of frigid winter air. "Well, let's get this over with. I wanna get to the store as soon as possible!" Of course, as he steps out, he notices that there is a small problem; being out in the suburbs as they are, no one has bothered to plow their roads. "Eh... eh?! Seriously?! Guess this means a cab is out of the question..."
He looks over at Orihime, then gives it some thought, before crouching down in front of her, back to her. He looks behind at her and jerks his head forward a little. "C'mon. Hop up. It'll be cold, but it'll be faster than walkin' all the way to the plowed roads." Actually, using Sonído would probably be faster than using a taxi at all.
no subject
Upon seeing the bad roads, she's a little disheartened at first. With walking as her next train of thought, she'd didn't think it'd be so bad if they kept up a steady pace and walked to keep warm, but it would definitely take a while. That is, until Shiro turned and suggested she get on his back. "E-Eh, but that seems a little much wouldn't it? I'd rather you get there quicker and I would meet you there. That way you wouldn't have to carry around my weight, even if it's just for a moment or so!" She's adamant because she's heavy and it would be troublesome for him.

A lie, really, because it's only a little faster than Shunpo, but hey, who's really counting? A staticy burst and a blast of cold wind and Shiro is standing on top of a chimney of another house at least a quarter of a mile away, if not more, and just for a split second. He takes another step, and another, each one a little faster and longer than the last. It only takes about five minutes to get out of the suburbs and into the City, and indeed, right in front of the small shop displaying some traditional Japanese and Chinese clothes in the window. It was pretty cold, due to the wind, but it wasn't too long to be outside.
"Phew. How was that?" he asks, letting her down gently back on to the sidewalk.
no subject
As he put her down, she grinned and suddenly looked really enthusiastic. "That was really cool! You went so fast!" And with the shop right in front of them after only five minutes, she knew they won't be any more chilled than they were when they just stepped out of the house. "Thanks you, Shiro-kun!"
no subject
He opens the door, a beckoning cat and a bell above the entrance welcoming them into the heated room. Like the gentleman he is (not), he holds the door open for Orihime.

The shopkeeper is an older Japanese woman, currently reading some sort of magazine. She's more than a little surprised by the ghost white person in her store, but at least he seems interested in the merchandise. And the girl seems normal.
Shiro thumbs through the rack, not stopping to look at any yukatas that are not black, blue or white in some sort of combination.
no subject
Orihime turns to a nearby rack that has kimonos. She hadn't exactly thought out of what she wanted beforehand, aside from wanting something of a warm color if she could find one, so she just sifts though the rack to see whats there. At one point, though, she turns back around to Shiro.
"Was there any specific color you were looking for?" She figures maybe she could help glance through them, if wanted an extra pair of eyes at all.
no subject
"What color are you looking for?"
no subject
"Maybe something yellow, or orange. Red could be nice too." She halted as she saw a pink one, but craned her head to look at it more thoroughly before leaving it be and continuing on. "Something with the warm colors, I think."
no subject
Orange and blue would be an interesting color combination, after all.
no subject
She could've sworn she saw a section with obis around on their way in, but just a glance before. It's a small enough shop so it doesn't take her too long to find it, and she looks around for some obi that would match it. She finds a blue obi that managed to match pretty well, in her opinion.
"Ne, how does this (http://i51.tinypic.com/qsw7pw.jpg) look together, Shiro-kun?" She's where he's at to ask for his opinion on the two together. "I think it's cute, but I want to see what you think too."
no subject
He turns around when Orihime calls out to him for attention and he grins, "Ah! That's gorgeous Inoue! It suits you so well." He gave a soft, very human smile, one that few people ever got to see. "I'd bet it'd look really awesome on you." Shiro moves to a second rack and as soon as he does, he finds something that catches his eye; a jet black silk yukata with silver embroidered dragons dancing across the shoulders and back and sleeves.
"Oh... ah!" He pulls it out and looks at it. The dragons just aren't on the top, but cover the entire yukata, twining amongst each other and following the contours of the garment. "This is it!"
no subject
Orihime was holding her choice out in front of her, still enjoying the colors and combinations, when Shiro exclaimed he had found his yukata. Looking up to look at it, she was amazed by the garment, especially the fine detail.
"Oh wow, that's such a nice one! The colors and dragons suit you so well too!"
no subject
He nods enthusiastically, holding it up against his body. It seems like it will fit just great. "It's perfect! Now I just need to find an obi to go with it..." Before he heads off, though, something else catches his eye. "... Hehehe. There's a matching one in here that Ichigo would love," He smiles a bit to himself then heads over to the rack of more simplistic obis. "Hmm... a blue one would look good, don'tcha think?"
no subject
She had followed him to the obis and found herself agreeing with him. "A blue would look very nice, yes!" And so Orihime starts to file through them to search for a blue one that would match with his yukata well.
no subject
He moves through the rack quickly, ignoring pretty much everything that isn't blue. "Why are there so many with fish on 'em? I don't want fish!"
no subject
She continues sifting through them, until she finds a blue one, sans the fish, and holds it up for him to see. "What about this one?"
no subject
"Mm?" He looks over at the obi and takes it out of Orihime's hands, running his ivory-white fingers over it with an eyebrow arched. It has a bit of a pattern on it, some sort of leaf and branch motif. He holds it against the yukata he chose for himself and smiles. "I think this is the one!"
no subject
Upon seeing how he seemed to like it, she smiled in similarity to his. "Oh good! It does match quite well with your yukata!" She pumped a fist into the air, looking confident. "We'll be looking so stylish at the party with these!"
no subject
"Hell yeah we will!" He beams and then jerks a thumb at the register, "Shall we check out?"
