SUMMARY: Lyra decided to throw a small party to watch some films.
FORMAT: Whatever you want.



[Lyra's set up several bowls of popcorn, chips, dip, and other assorted snack foods on a table in the TV room. The TV room, by the way, doesn't have any couches or chairs. Just lots of giant beanbags. There's a pile of movies- most of them action films with lots of explosions, and several animated films, including Laputa, and somehow, a documentary on the Arctic regions found its way onto the list as well.]

[Yoite had spent most of the day on the roof, like he had used to, before moving out the last time. He had been downstairs a few times, watching the preparations for the party that he didn't intend to be a part of. When it seemed like the time was drawing near for people to start arriving, he headed downstairs, intending to get his coat and leave.

He only briefly paused in his rush to get out of the house to look for Lyra, not wanting to disappear without a word this time, though it was what he normally did. He didn't want her to wonder where he went, not to mention that he had to ask her to save some food and snacks for him.]

Heading out? [Lyra looks worried... A little bit, anyway. Pantalaimon shoots him a pleading look as she offers him some popcorn.]

Sorry if you feel you're being chased out... I know you don't like big groups.

[Yoite accepts the popcorn, and eats it too, before nodding.]

Yeah... I'll be back later.

[But really, with Yoite, who knows what later means. It could mean everything from later this evening, or tomorrow.]

I don't. [Not really. He knows he doesn't have to go out, and there are many rooms for him to stay in if he'd wanted to stay, really. Even the roof. But he wants to go out, distance himself a bit.]

[Turning on his heel then, he pauses and glances back at her.] ... Save some food for me.

And Yoite... have fun, all right? [Lyra's not sure why she has the odd impulse to follow Yoite out the door.]

[Yoite stares at her for another moment, before walking to the door, opening it and stepping outside.]

[For now at least, but he doesn't say that, closing the door and wandering off, not even sure where to go. He will find somewhere though; he always does.]

[Lyra shows up in person at the front door- the sounds of explosions and shouting from the film are faintly audible, and she gives her best smile.]

James! Come inside!

H'lo. What're you watching?

[Lyra motions him into the TV room, handing him a bowl of snacks before plopping down on a beanbag.]

'Die Tomorrow' is what I think it's called. Something about spies.

[He takes the bowl and flops down on the floor nearby.]

Yeah. I never got to watch movies before I came here- they don't exist on my world. So this is a bit of a treat.

[Lyra's not going to talk about what James was doing before he got 'ported in. He came here to relax, after all.]

[There's a pause.] Sirius and I used to go to the cinema over summer hols.

[James shows up and knocks on the door. It'll be nice to see everyone at Awesome Base again. Even if he still finds it weird that they knew a version of him but he doesn't remember them.

They're nice, and a party is just what he needs after a horrible couples of weeks.]

[Lily shows up with an enormous bowl filled with pasta as promised. It's going to have to be reheated, but it has just been freshly made and will taste fine if it is. She balances the plastic-wrap sealed bowl on one arm while knocking on the door with her free hand.]

Well, you could say that we saved him the leftovers so he can still enjoy the pasta. I can just get the bowl from you at school on Monday.

I made sure to make enough for everyone, so there should be plenty left over for him even if we have some.
