they say it's a dream, embers of one-sided attachment...

WHERE: Sugiyama (a Japanese restaurant)
WHEN: around lunchtime
WARNINGS: violence o____o
SUMMARY: For reasons of her own, O-Ren requires a "bodyguard", and 'Jack' wishes to interview for the position. She decides to test him by hiring the Black Widow.
FORMAT: paragraph to start, then whatever you like
The restaurant was small but spaciously arranged, with western style seating in the front and more private traditional seating in the back. She'd made reservations well in advance, so the busy nature of the place was only amusing to her; this might end up quite a show, though there were too many variables involved to say for sure. A few tables down, a business lunch laughed quietly over boiled octopus and seaweed with what smelled like a miso mustard.
The server showed O-Ren and 'Jack' to a discreet table by the window. She sat neatly and daintily in her new yukata, which was colored rather more brightly than she liked but which suited 'Oyuki'. Nobody had blinked at the katana tucked into the back of her obi, which she now withdrew and set leaning against the table to her right, out of the way. How rude of her! But it was necessary.

In the end, though, he decided against it. Better to wait and see if this "Oyuki" had similar plans of her own. After all, if she didn't, did he really want to be her bodyguard? How dull would that be? It didn't bear thinking about.
So he simply followed O-Ren into the restaurant without any certainty as to what the future of the pleasant lunch held. His own clothes were as Western as hers were Eastern: an elegant white suit. Another subtle show of his confidence, that he could wear white without fearing it would be blemished in action.
Sitting down, he calmly took off his shades and smiled at O-Ren. "This is my first time interviewing for such a prestigious position. I do hope I don't make any...stumbles."

"Just water, thanks!" 'Oyuki' added in response to the waiter, pausing to let November order what he liked. It hardly mattered to her. Drinking, not drinking, at a certain level one simply expected a professional to not let it affect their performance. "And can we start off with the santen mori?"
I am...so late :(
She was watching from a corner table, having ordered the one thing on the menu that required extra prep time from the kitchen. The waiter was taking their order— she'd wait until after he left to make her strike. No sense involving extra distractions.
