WHO: Bakura and Momiji (And open to anyone else on the 10th floor, really)
WHERE: Hell Towers 10th!
WHEN: Friday Evening after this chat
SUMMARY: Bakura invites Momiji over to cheer him up. Hugs, video games and holy shit would you look at that shark.
FORMAT: Para

There were somethings that overrode Bakura's self consciousness, and cheering up a friend was one. He hadn't given up trying to cover his hair, this time attempting to have a bandana wrapped around a bunch of it, tying it back and more out of sight than normal.

Of course, the horrible blond dye job was still painfully visible, especially in his bangs, but at least it wasn't so frizzy today! Letting it soak in leave in conditioner had undone most of the damage that attempting to wash the dye out had done to it.

But even if his wrecked hair was embarrassing, Momiji's needs were far more important than something as silly as that. So he was going to (try to) not worry about it.

And the bandana helped keep his hair out of his cooking. With luck, the anpan he was making would still be warm when Momiji arrived!

Momiji made his way to Hell Towers the second he finished his meeting with Darkrai. The conversations on the network and the promise of a few hours of distraction, he helped improve his mood greatly. By the time he arrived at his destination, the smile on his face was actually from excitement rather than a farce.

Remembering Bakura's instructions, he sent a quick text to alert of his arrival.

It didn't take to very long for Momiji to reach the right floor, and he was indeed enticed by the warm scent that clouded the air. Which immediately made Momiji feel calm. The only times he'd gotten to be greeted by the smell of baking was when he went over to Shigure's and the memories that brought up were nothing but pleasant. Still smiling warmly, he knocked on the door. "Hey! It's me, it's me!"

Adorable :)

Momiji full out grinned when he saw his domestic looking boss. "Bakura-kun looks so cute. Like a wife." He followed the other inside, twisting his head to look around at the place.

"Anpan?" Way to play to Momiji's weakness. At the mention of sweets, his eyes took a sparkle of excitement. "You make it yourself? Ahaa, that's amazing."

Gosh darn you internets, work right for once

[identity profile] whatmuttiforgot.livejournal.com 2011-01-28 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
Momiji laughed. "I didn't say you were a girl, I said you looked like a wife." And yes, he did think there was a difference.

Momiji would consider those guests very lucky to get such a snack. He usually shoved leftovers at whomever showed up at his door. With his cooking skills, that might just make his company terribly sick. "Boss is a great baker, too." He mused.

Momiji, though not the cat person of his family, was happy to oblige the little creature. Crouching down and stroking her fur, he glanced up to Bakura. "Who's this?"

This place has the worst reception, it kicks in and out all day

[identity profile] whatmuttiforgot.livejournal.com 2011-01-28 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
If Momiji was asked what he thought that difference was, the person questioning him would get some very off the wall speech about semantics that would loop in on itself until the kid got bored and decided to go play tag instead of talking.

"Awww, but Bakura-kun, it's a nice nickname." Momiji half whined, giving off his best puppy look. He only kept using it because of Bakura's reactions. Where would be the fun in teasing someone if they didn't respond in an amusing way?

"Pelor." He called to the cat, scratching her ears gently. "You're a cute little thing."

"What's the name Pelor for, Boss?"

I know :(

[identity profile] whatmuttiforgot.livejournal.com 2011-01-28 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Momiji grin widened in response to the pouting. He'll call you by your actual names sometimes, but when he's in a good mood, Boss it shall be.

Of course the reference went straight over Momiji's head. "D&D? Is that something from your world?" He had no friends back home that were in to geekier things. He'd played a few video games and had seen some animes, but that was about it.

He hasn't!

[identity profile] whatmuttiforgot.livejournal.com 2011-01-28 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
The expression on his face clearly showed Momiji was both surprised and amused by Bakura's enthusiasm. "A game then. You think it's fun right?" He got that impression by the look on Bakura's face.

"Someone came here from a game? Ne, that's strange." He had been told people from movies had showed up here, but he still found it weird.

:)

[identity profile] whatmuttiforgot.livejournal.com 2011-01-28 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
"So strange." Momiji commented. Latching onto that train of thought, his eyes widened. "I wonder if some where, stories about our worlds exist."

Momiji went for the smile and nod. It's not that he didn't care, Momiji always found it nice to see his friends excited. He just didn't have much of a clue as to what Bakura was really talking about. "You must play it a lot, if its your favorite. Do a lot of people play with you?"

[identity profile] whatmuttiforgot.livejournal.com 2011-01-28 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Was it possible for Momiji's eyes to get any wider? "That's so weird. People could see your life played out on TV." It was definitely something he'd have to think about later. Going to the next topic was better than this mind breaking territory.

"You have a lot of friends to play with. It must be a really great time to get that many people to come." The largest games Momiji had ever been in were the few times he'd played badminton with Tohru's friends. That wasn't even ten people. If someone had that many friends willing to play with them, he must really be popular.

[identity profile] whatmuttiforgot.livejournal.com 2011-01-30 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
Momiji noted the slight drop in excitement. "I'm sure you'll get to. I bet there's a lot of people in this city who'd like to play games with you."

Straightening up from his position of play with the little cat, he stretched and grinned. "So Boss, what's this I hear about sharks?"

[identity profile] whatmuttiforgot.livejournal.com 2011-01-30 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
Momiji made a displeased noise, and pouted. "Fine, fine. No more calling you Boss today. I promise." Though he liked his nickname for Bakura, the promise of seeing an actual shark was a tad more exciting then the older boy's reactions.

[identity profile] whatmuttiforgot.livejournal.com 2011-01-30 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
Momiji giggled at the cat's response and smiled widely at the affirmation. "Great! I've never seen a shark before. Except on TV but that doesn't count. I can't believe someone keeps one in this building!"

[identity profile] whatmuttiforgot.livejournal.com 2011-01-30 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, its wild." Momiji said, following behind Bakura. "I wouldn't even think of something like that as a pet." Not Momiji had ever really tried to get a pet. "He must be into exotic things."

[identity profile] whatmuttiforgot.livejournal.com 2011-01-30 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
Momiji raised an eyebrow. What could someone possibly have in common with a shark? He could understand liking sharks, but being like them? Odd.

Any comment he would have made about that strange statement was immediately stopped when they entered the room. His first instinct was to dart over to the tank and generally act like a four year old at the aquarium, but he refrained and instead let out a little 'aaaa' of excitement. "Wow, this place is amazing! So big and its got everything!"

[identity profile] whatmuttiforgot.livejournal.com 2011-01-30 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
"Ohh, wow. Look at this thing." Momiji was unable to hold it in anymore and bounded over to the tank. He stared at the shark with a completely intense look. This was better than the time he got to play with fire crackers. "It's big." Well, it was smaller than the sharks on TV, but much bigger than any fish he was used to.

If Momiji had the prompting to vocalize such things, he be expressing how glad he was for the people he'd met here. So many of them had tried to cheer him up today. It was heart warming. He'd have to do something special for all of them, to show his gratitude.

"Does the shark have a name?"

[identity profile] whatmuttiforgot.livejournal.com 2011-01-30 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh." Not a problem to Momiji. The shark would be mentally dubbed The Shark, until he found out its name. "You know it's not scary looking as I would have thought. It's almost cute." He continued to stare and occasionally make faces at the creature until he grew tired of that and bounced back over to Bakura.

Settling himself on the couch, he gave the place another glance over. "Are you allowed to come in here whenever you want?"

[identity profile] whatmuttiforgot.livejournal.com 2011-01-30 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
Momiji blinked at the sudden hug, but accepted it gratefully. He didn't bother to ask what it was for, he was about 99% sure he knew. He pulled back from it, but sticking close to Bakura's side. "Thanks."

"That's really nice of him."

[identity profile] whatmuttiforgot.livejournal.com 2011-01-30 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Momiji would not protest entrance into this particular club. Getting a hug was a a special thing to him, what with the curse. Any opportunity for a little innocent physical affection was treasure by him.

"He owns the whole building? So he's the landlord."

[identity profile] whatmuttiforgot.livejournal.com 2011-01-31 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
Which Momiji would find terribly sad. At least the people in his life had an excuse not to touch him.

"Because he's one of your friends right?" Momiji could see how it'd be weird to had a pal as a landlord. "So he's the one who put in the big TV too." While he'd never seen much point in television, even Momiji had to show some appreciation for a screen that large.

[identity profile] whatmuttiforgot.livejournal.com 2011-01-31 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
"Wahh, really?" An entire room build around a TV? Well that was something. "You'd fell just like you were sitting on the side lines with a picture this big."

[identity profile] whatmuttiforgot.livejournal.com 2011-02-01 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
"You'd have to have a huge apartment for all of this and the normal stuff." He agreed. He sat as composed as possible as they talked, eyes still darting around the room. Being still was not one of Momiji's preferred activities. Being in a new place made the need to move worse, and it was noticeable in the slight twitching of his muscles.

[identity profile] whatmuttiforgot.livejournal.com 2011-02-01 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
Momiji's eyes light up at the suggestion. He was off the couch and standing in front of Bakura within seconds of the words leaving the older teen's mouth. "You bet I'm ready! You won't have it so easy this time!"

[identity profile] whatmuttiforgot.livejournal.com 2011-02-02 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Momiji was indeed back to his normal self. He had always been quite quick in rebounding from bad situations, mostly because he would just stuff everything bad away to be dealt with later. Which was what he had been making today about.

"Hmm, okay." While most people played it the other way, this was the way of the politeness wars. In any case, the little bet only made him more determined for victory. "But I'll definitely be the one paying."

[identity profile] whatmuttiforgot.livejournal.com 2011-02-03 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Poor Bakura. Momiji's way of eventually 'dealing' with it just to happens to be screaming at an abusive transvestite. Which actually turns out a lot worse than just making himself look foolish.

Momiji instinctively went for his wallet, but put it back with a slight frown when he saw Bakura had beat him to it. Taking up a position at the machine, his grin turned delivish. "We'll see about that."

[identity profile] whatmuttiforgot.livejournal.com 2011-02-03 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Momiji was quite happy to disregard their previous wager since it had not worked out in his favor. If Bakura won this game, Momiji would surely still try to back up on their current bet. Or at least insist he be the one to buy something else.

Taking the little paddle in hand and leaning forward, he gave Bakura a determined nod to start.
