WHO: Bakura and Momiji (And open to anyone else on the 10th floor, really)
WHERE: Hell Towers 10th!
WHEN: Friday Evening after this chat
SUMMARY: Bakura invites Momiji over to cheer him up. Hugs, video games and holy shit would you look at that shark.
FORMAT: Para
There were somethings that overrode Bakura's self consciousness, and cheering up a friend was one. He hadn't given up trying to cover his hair, this time attempting to have a bandana wrapped around a bunch of it, tying it back and more out of sight than normal.
Of course, the horrible blond dye job was still painfully visible, especially in his bangs, but at least it wasn't so frizzy today! Letting it soak in leave in conditioner had undone most of the damage that attempting to wash the dye out had done to it.
But even if his wrecked hair was embarrassing, Momiji's needs were far more important than something as silly as that. So he was going to (try to) not worry about it.
And the bandana helped keep his hair out of his cooking. With luck, the anpan he was making would still be warm when Momiji arrived!

Remembering Bakura's instructions, he sent a quick text to alert of his arrival.

The smell of fresh baked goods would greet Momiji as he reached the 10th floor.

Icon for apron and hair more than expression :)
A moment later, the door opened, Bakura wearing a bright yellow apron and his poor mangled hair still half hidden in the bandana. "Come on in!" he smiled, moving back to make room.
"I just finished making some anpan, they should be out of the oven in just a few more minutes!"
Adorable :)
"Anpan?" Way to play to Momiji's weakness. At the mention of sweets, his eyes took a sparkle of excitement. "You make it yourself? Ahaa, that's amazing."
I do love that fanart. And replace YB with any of Bakura's brothers or friends and that happens :D
"Un, I make them multiple times a week," he admitted with a smile. He always made sure to have some on hand for going visiting or having company over. They were becoming his signature snack!
There was a small "mrow?" as a calico cat emerged, padding over to rub against Bakura's leg before peering up at Momiji curiously. The look didn't last long before she was then rubbing against Momiji's leg, demanding to be petted.
Gosh darn you internets, work right for once
Momiji would consider those guests very lucky to get such a snack. He usually shoved leftovers at whomever showed up at his door. With his cooking skills, that might just make his company terribly sick. "Boss is a great baker, too." He mused.
Momiji, though not the cat person of his family, was happy to oblige the little creature. Crouching down and stroking her fur, he glanced up to Bakura. "Who's this?"
Ack, not yours too!
"Aaa~aaa, Momiji-kuuun! Don't call me that!" he laughed in protest. "Especially not outside of work!"
He smiled down at Pelor, who was now purring contentedly, rubbing against Momiji. "That's Pelor."
This place has the worst reception, it kicks in and out all day
"Awww, but Bakura-kun, it's a nice nickname." Momiji half whined, giving off his best puppy look. He only kept using it because of Bakura's reactions. Where would be the fun in teasing someone if they didn't respond in an amusing way?
"Pelor." He called to the cat, scratching her ears gently. "You're a cute little thing."
"What's the name Pelor for, Boss?"
Suuucks.
You'd think with how often he got teased about things he would be starting to get wise to it.
"She's named after a sun god in D&D," he explained, watching the now veeeery content cat soak up the attention. "Though I think the name went to her head!" he smiled fondly.
I know :(
Of course the reference went straight over Momiji's head. "D&D? Is that something from your world?" He had no friends back home that were in to geekier things. He'd played a few video games and had seen some animes, but that was about it.
..I forget, has Momiji seen Baku's TRPG yet?
"It was here too for a while, until someone a cartoon of it showed up!" Already the nerd vibes were rising as Bakura's expression turned to pure gleeee. "D&D is Dungeons and Dragons, a RPG system! Like Monster World and the TRPG I built!"
He hasn't!
"Someone came here from a game? Ne, that's strange." He had been told people from movies had showed up here, but he still found it weird.
He totally should since it's kept in the room next to the office :)
"And it's a really fun game! My favorite, really! Though Monster World is more fun than D&D, which is why the TRPG is a mix of those two systems, only in Monster World style with the board and figures and everything!"
:)
Momiji went for the smile and nod. It's not that he didn't care, Momiji always found it nice to see his friends excited. He just didn't have much of a clue as to what Bakura was really talking about. "You must play it a lot, if its your favorite. Do a lot of people play with you?"
no subject
"Un! When we can get games together!" he laughed, rubbing the back of his neck. "The one session we had, there were almost 15 people who played! It was amazing!"
no subject
"You have a lot of friends to play with. It must be a really great time to get that many people to come." The largest games Momiji had ever been in were the few times he'd played badminton with Tohru's friends. That wasn't even ten people. If someone had that many friends willing to play with them, he must really be popular.

His smile grew a touch sadder as he nodded. There were friends who had been at that first campaign that still hadn't Ported back in. "Un, it was amazing. Maybe someday we'll do it again."

Straightening up from his position of play with the little cat, he stretched and grinned. "So Boss, what's this I hear about sharks?"

"Good," he smiled. "Once the anpan are out of the--"
And as if being spoken of triggered it, the timer on the counter dinged loudly, causing Pelor to give a loud "Mrow!" in echo.
Even the most spoiled cat could be helpful at keeping her scatter brained human from forgetting important things.
"Aa!" Bakura exclaimed, busying over to the oven. A quick peek inside showed that yes, the buns looked nice and done and in short order the pans were out of the over and on trivets on the counter to cool.
"Now we can go see it!"

Like teeth.
The Mancave was just a little down the hall from Bakura's apartment. The room itself was huge, with its own kitchen, an arcade, various game tables, couches, a giant screen TV and a tank that took up an entire wall that held the aforementioned shark.

Any comment he would have made about that strange statement was immediately stopped when they entered the room. His first instinct was to dart over to the tank and generally act like a four year old at the aquarium, but he refrained and instead let out a little 'aaaa' of excitement. "Wow, this place is amazing! So big and its got everything!"
no subject
Of course, Bakura's favorite parts were the jumbo kitchen and the arcade. But the entire thing was great.
He flopped down on the couch, watching Momiji with a fond smile. It was good to see him happy like this. It was a good distraction from everything.

If Momiji had the prompting to vocalize such things, he be expressing how glad he was for the people he'd met here. So many of them had tried to cheer him up today. It was heart warming. He'd have to do something special for all of them, to show his gratitude.
"Does the shark have a name?"

Settling himself on the couch, he gave the place another glance over. "Are you allowed to come in here whenever you want?"
no subject
"Yup!" Bakura looked over with a smile before pulling Momiji into a half hug as promised. "He sometimes rents it out, but mostly just to people on the top two floors, since it's our hangout!"
no subject
"That's really nice of him."
no subject
"Un. He really takes care of us, especially considering how cheep the rent is!"
There were definite perks to being friends with Hiruma. One of them being that you weren't enemies with Hiruma. This was a very important thing.

"He owns the whole building? So he's the landlord."
no subject
"Un," Bakura nodded. "Though it's a little weird to think of him like that!" he laughed.
no subject
"Because he's one of your friends right?" Momiji could see how it'd be weird to had a pal as a landlord. "So he's the one who put in the big TV too." While he'd never seen much point in television, even Momiji had to show some appreciation for a screen that large.

"Hmm, okay." While most people played it the other way, this was the way of the politeness wars. In any case, the little bet only made him more determined for victory. "But I'll definitely be the one paying."
Whoops, forgot to reply to this @_@
oh wait, that's just Bakura.
"Don't be so sure of that!" he grinned in return, pulling out change for the machine.

Momiji instinctively went for his wallet, but put it back with a slight frown when he saw Bakura had beat him to it. Taking up a position at the machine, his grin turned delivish. "We'll see about that."
no subject
And hey hey, Bakura won last time, he has rights to pay, don't even try, Momiji~
When the table woke up with a deep hum, Bakura grinned, placing the puck. With neither of them holding back, it would be a fun game!

Taking the little paddle in hand and leaning forward, he gave Bakura a determined nod to start.
