(no subject)

WHO: [livejournal.com profile] batghoul and her sidekick [livejournal.com profile] bedeviledspider
WHERE: A movie theater (so specific).
WHEN: Wednesday night. [ BACKDATED ]
WARNINGS: derp, awkward, hot ninja breaking in action.
SUMMARY: It's Cass's birthday! This means a movie date. Or, to be more specific, breaking into a movie theater.
FORMAT: Paragraph to start, whatever after.

It was Cass's birthday.

Correction: It was his girlfriend's birthday. Reilly still wasn't sure what all the dos and donts were in this situation, but he was certain that doing nothing would get him killed... and he liked living. And Cassandra.

That was how he ended up scaling the walls of Oracle's safe house, face hidden under a horrible makeshift mask, waiting for the tell-tale tingle to run down his spine and announce his imminent demise at the hands of Cass's mentor. To his surprise, that wasn't happening.  So he took a deep breath and began knocking on what he hoped was her window.

A list of movie times clutched in his hand.

She would have giggled at his dripping shirt, but she was too busying being in full-on ninja mode. She easily scaled the wall, and after a couple seconds of scanning, located the rooftop entrance. The door seemed to be locked, giving her pause. She could always kick it down, but it wasn't like they were breaking into a mob hideout or something...

She stepped aside and pulled out her pockets, showing that they were empty except for some lint. She didn't exactly carry around lock-picking tools in her hoodies, after all. Though maybe that would be a good idea from now on.

She watched, a little impressed at his quick-thinking and use of his powers. Once he'd finished, she tried the door again, and amazingly, it opened! She grinned and slipped inside, descending down the stairs and peeking through another door out into the main hall of the theater. A few ushers patrolled the hallway, but when you were used to avoiding highly-trained black ops squads and the like, a few high schoolers weren't much to worry about.

She turned back to Reilly, and gave him a few incomprehensible hand signals that she obviously cribbed from the latest war movie she'd watched, and then slipped out into the hall.

She slipped behind a couple of the ushers, always staying just out of their range of view. A few seemed a bit perplexed by the crackling sound they couldn't quite locate, but even if they turned, she stayed right behind them. She ducked into the entrance to one of the theaters and turned to Reilly, pointing at the name of the movie playing above an adjacent theater and shrugging.
