SUMMARY: screw this snow noise we're going out west. totally not going to get lost along the way.

   So once upon a time, two men from high fantasy settings decided that record-breaking snowfall on the east coast was stupid and also being hassled by local authorities for magically blowing up things wasn't much fun either. The solution was clear: Get the hell out of Dodge the City.

   By train. Because lots of people took the train - it has to be totally fine, right?

   A series of train rides with hopes to getting to Arizona. Here's some threads of what happens along the way and after. ENJOY.

Where are we, then?

Here. [he taps the glass case at the big, red, YOU ARE HERE-esque dot surrounded by labels and important notes of a touristy nature.] That's the City. [his finger rides up a red line up to the smaller, bluer City dot. he traces back, then squints, looking for the line that would be their next practice in patience.

there. angled north and west, he stops his finger in Illinois' general area.] Then this way, then...three days west. [that's where his accuracy stops; there's too many friggin lines and labels for him to remember which one was precisely which.]

[the scale is tough to visualize but he can imagine. Hence, the 'ugh' look on his face at the moment]

Do we need to get anything while we're stopped, here?

[zel fishes around his pockets for his ticket, squinting down at it before rocking back on his heels to check upwards for a nearby clock.]

I don't...think so...These are supposed to cover the whole trip, so...

Right. What about food? I mean...they're supposed to serve some onboard, but even so. [no I'm not addicted to cheap hotdogs shut up]

I assume we're on our own for that. [zel turns over the ticket, checking to see if any further insight was typed out there. nope. he glances upward at the clock again.] Since there's an hour before leaving, I guess...

May as well, then. [as he looks around - he knows that brightly-lit signs often mean fast food in these parts, would there be something in or near the station? time to investigate]

[zel followed along like a good boy - less interested in food than he was in not losing track of geddoe and ruining everything ever by doing so. still, the level of importance the station gave to the town it was in was something to look at, certainly. it didn't take long to catch on to things, not with NATION'S CAPITAL emblazoned here and there.

he loitered about nearby while geddoe got what he wanted, looking around and dodging glances when he found himself caught staring. old habits.

even on alert, he still wound up yawning. it was different than trekking on foot; all that sitting around being bored wore him out in a different way.]
