WHO: Bennett Halverson and Donna Noble
WHERE: Bennett's Apartment
WHEN: Afternoon of Feb 1st? Just sometime after Kim left Bennett's I guess
WARNINGS: Donna is a warning.
SUMMARY: After Bennett came back to the City, Donna is forcing that skinny little twig to eat something and talk about it some more.
FORMAT: Para!

After Kim had left, Bennett took an imitrex and laid down on the couch, hoping to get rid of her migraine. She knew Donna would be showing up any second because that's just how Donna was but. Bennett wasn't so sure she even wanted to see Donna right now; the only person she really, really wanted to see right now was Topher. But she didn't want to turn into a blubbery mess in front of him or something. That'd be embarrassing, for one, and two...she was still trying to work out her feelings for him. Did she love him? Bennett had never been in love before so it was a hard call. Sure, she loved Caroline in her own way but the way she felt about Topher was...a lot different than that. A lot.

She was hoping Boyd would be understanding and let her take a few days off to get back into the swing of this world. Since it had been a few months for her since she'd been back here. Sure, she took such impeccable notes that it'd be easy for anyone to pick up right where she left off with a project but Bennett was...well, having a bit of an emotional crisis here. Borderline mental breakdown. Something along those lines.

Bingley was laying on the couch beside her, curled up and in his sleeping mode. He hadn't really left Bennett's side since Kim had plopped him in her lap earlier in the day. He was a smart little pig, that was for sure. He recognized that Bennett needed some kind of comfort right now.

"Right!" Donna called back to her, greeting Bingley by patting him affectionately on the head before she continued making two cups of coffee.

A few moments later, she walked into the other room, and put a cup down in front of Bennett on the coffee table, "There you go," she said as she did so.

She took a sip from her own cup and looked at Bennett expectantly. She had decided beforehand to wait for Bennett to tell her, in her own time, what had happened - rather than interrogate her relentlessly for the details. But, despite having decided this, Donna still couldn't help but feel impatient as with each passing moment the worry she felt for her friend grew.

Donna spared Bingley an endeared smile as he jumped up on the couch, before her gaze returned to Bennett, "I wouldn't mind an explanation, yeah," she replied, her expression one of concern, "I mean, I've never seen you so--"

Donna started as a memory she was certain wasn't her own filled her mind. Kissing. An act which both participants seemed to be unfamiliar with, not that that detracted from the sheer love behind the gesture.

"Oh. My. God!" Donna blurted out, as soon as she was brought back to the present, "You kissed 'im!" That Topher bloke! You actually kissed 'im!"

Now Donna's a bit freaked out, too, "I dunno. It just happens sometimes. When I'm out 'round the City, I see flashes of things when I look at people. Like the day they passed their drivin' test, their weddin' day. Past stuff like that. Never really thought anythin' of it afterwards. Figured it was just me goin' a bit bonkers."

Donna nodded vaguely. She had a power. Which probably meant that the 'Porter hadn't made a mistake when it brought her here, when it called her a hero of all bloody things. But it obviously had. She wasn't anything special.

She gave herself a mental shake, reminding herself that she had more important things to worry about. Namely, Bennett.

"Right. Yeah. You... You said somethin' on the network, 'bout how you're supposed to be...dead?" she replied, before trying to deny it because she didn't want it to be true, "But you-- you can't be. I mean, here you are. Alive.

"Oh, my God," Donna whispered, looking visibly horrified, "She shot you?"

She sat up a little straighter in her seat and her expression became one of anger, "That-- That bitch. Just wait 'til I get my hands on her!"

Donna clucked her tongue, clearly irritated, "So you're just gonna let 'er get away with it? What does this... this Topher bloke have to say 'bout all this, eh? I mean, I'm assumin' you've told 'im?"

She heaved a deep sigh and looked at Bennett sympathetically, "That's-- That's horrible, that is. To have to be stuck here of all bloody places."
