Making a Change
WHO:
crusaderinacape and
frozendeadinme
WHERE: Wayne's place of work
WHEN: Friday evening
WARNINGS: None
SUMMARY: Freeze has made a decision. He seeks out the one man he believes can actually serve a greater good. The man's other half may have questions about this.
FORMAT: Para
It took only a little bit of time to find Wayne's location. He approached in his usual way as well: directly through the front door. He had a mission in mind, and he was going to carry it out regardless of what or who stood in his way. It was, really, a tradition for him.
He knew Wayne. Or, a version of him. He had to believe that certain things remained true across the various universes. Else, what hope was there? But Wayne had, once, saved his wife's life. When he had no reason to do so, and not the slightest chance of profit. And so he came today. There was something important on his mind. Preying on it, one might say.
And, so he approached, in full armor as always.
"I wish to speak to Wayne, immediately."

"I wish to speak to Wayne, immediately."

"That's alright, everyone. You can stand down." He pushed between the shoulders of two uniformed men and held a hand out to his unexpected guest, a genial smile glancing across his face. "Dr. Fries? Bruce Wayne. Forgive the ceremony; we've grown rather used to people calling ahead. I'm sure you understand."
no subject
"Of course," he said, nodding. "They have their jobs and must do it, of course."
He was trying, with effort, to be reasonable. It was difficult, sometimes, especially when violence was more efficient sometimes.
Dr.Fries. How long it had been since somebody called him that.

Gesturing into the heart of the building, he walked and talked. "I have to admit I was rather surprised by your offer."

"But I have been...thinking, of late. Of Nora. What you did for her. And what she would want me to do here, in this time and place."
He stopped, looking at Wayne.
"You were a good man, Wayne. The only man with money I have ever met who I can say that of. And I cannot ever repay you properly for saving Nora's life. But I can try."
