Two eyes staring cold and silent

WHO: Daredevil & Open! That means YOU!!
WHERE: Various City locales
WHEN: Tuesday night, Wednesday night, & Thursday night
WARNINGS: ???
SUMMARY: Patrolling.  Sniffing around for troublemakers.  Will there be ninja fights?  Maybe.  A few bar room brawls?  Possibly.  Looming awkwardly on rooftops and in alleyways.  You bet!  Tag yourself in however you like, just specify the time/date/location!
FORMAT:  Paragraphs to start, but we can do whatever you like!

He could barely believe it was March already.  Nearly ten months he'd been in this place, nearly ten months he'd spent running around the City at night dressed like a demon, staking claim to the gentrified Hell's Kitchen that didn't actually need a guardian devil protector.  That didn't make what he did any less meaningful or important -- he still broke up drug deals, he still thwarted robberies and occasionally his night time activities were on a grander scale -- but it was starting to seem less personal now.  Daredevil would never be the beloved mascot or neighborhood hero to the people of the west side, not like he was back home anyway.

That just meant his patrols took him elsewhere.  He still mainly kept to Manhattan.  It was home, after all, and he was more comfortable there.  Even with the subtle changes brought on by the City, he was still more at ease there than in other parts of town.  But Daredevil went where the criminals went.  That's what he always did, and he did his job with the same relentlessness of a dog with the scent of a bird.  Whether he was in his scarlet colored costume, taking out punks on the street, or whether he was playing the undercover role and doing recon in a shady bar with his jacket collar popped and his Rangers hat pulled low, he had a job to do, and no case of homesickness was going to stop him.

Houston just smiled. He hadn't told the whole, kind of crazy story about how he got started in superheroics so he guessed it made sense for things to not sound complicated.

"Only a couple months," he replied. "Sorry about calling you Kid Devil earlier. Thought you might be like an older version of this hero I read about from back home," he added.

"Well, I've been working on making sure I had a decent handle on them since I figured out I had them," Houston answered. "They still ya know...kick in if I get startled or freaked out sometimes but I'm not randomly speeding up and smashing into things," he explained. "I've got this super speed thing going on but it's different from the way every other super speed person I've talked to does it. I'm thinking it's a time manipulation power like one of these bad guys back home had."

Houston frowned a little as well. "Yeah, heard of it a couple times. Talked with one of the students and a pair of the teachers there," he replied. "Been thinking about going but..." he trailed off and shrugged. He's been torn between wanting to learn better control and use of his powers and an aversion to letting any adult or authority figure be in charge of him.
