WHO: Illidan and YOU!!
WHERE: Anywhere around the city! Dude is portable.
WHEN: All day Monday!
WARNINGS: CREEPERS. Actually little, but will edit if needed!
SUMMARY: Yep, dudes who eat magic are trolling around the city and making you cry tears
FORMAT: Para to start, and then following whoever tags!

It never took long for one to become bored with what they had and moved on to something better. Better, in this case meaning more magic. It wasn't a question of quality, but quantity, and people like him were never satisfied, even with a source of magic he'd created. It was limitless, yes, but of only one flavor, and that was his. He could sense his magic on the air everywhere near his park, and it was his, despite the signs saying otherwise. He couldn't read them. It was time to move out, and find more.

What other way would he find new allies in this world than to search them out? They were the beings he would need eventually.

She had to think about that one. Terra didn't know for certain, with so many mysteries of her world locked to her now, but she could guess. It wasn't as though it mattered. "Rare," she ventured, moving the heavy bag from one arm to the other with the rustle of plastic and the clatter of bottles. "I think they were created during the War of the Magi."

"I don't think anyone would be pleased." It was a hint to a story she wouldn't explain, but not obviously such; a concession more, before she too fell silent. She didn't exactly want to prolong the conversation... and he seemed just as stumped for what to say as she.

Her bag twisted with a crackle of plastic.

"Of some... but who would wish to be a product of war?"

"And what of those... who seek to end war?" She asked, more curious now. "Could a product of fighting end it peacefully?"

Terra didn't know if she could believe such a line, coming from Illidan, but it was best to play along.

"You did? What would you say you're a product of?"

There was, she remembered, a reason she had kept telling Zelgadis that she and Illidan were similar — more than just similar magic, or his occasional resemblance to half her heritage, absent as that was now.

"What about your childhood?" she asked, tentative. "Your parents? Did they... love you?"

LMAO fair enough

"I see..." There they differed; while she was sure that she, too, had been loved by her parents, they had been taken from her in one way or another when she was still an infant. She didn't even know what they were like, beyond those few memories Maduin had shared with her.

Her free arm moved to cradle her grocery bag, both for the weight and like some subconscious grip of an anchor. "Then... aren't you a product of that too?"

/slow clap.jpg ALSO WHY IS THIS CONVERSATION SO *NORMAL*??

[personal profile] diesarock 2011-03-18 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
To that, Terra had no response. He had told her some of his long imprisonment at his brother's hand, presumably the same brother he'd mentioned just now. If what he said was true, what did that make Terra? A product of love, or of war? An infancy was little in comparison to the sixteen years she had spent leashed to the heel of the Empire.

"Can you truly be a product of war," she started, hesitant; the more the conversation turned to ideas important to her, the more frighteningly engaged she became. "If you're still capable of love?"

I THINK YOU MEAN BETTER terra this is the probably worst person to get guidance from on this........

It was not remotely the answer Terra was expecting, and the emotional vehemence of it nearly had her stepping backwards in surprise. The plastic bag crinkled under her hand and on her arm, bottles clinking together inside, loud only for Terra's own quiet. The intensity of light through his blindfold caught her attention, though what it meant, she had no idea.

Her voice was quiet. "You're so confident..." It was a marked contrast to Terra's hesitant and unsure feelings.

she has been lulled by all the normality! bad terra.

Terra, too, was looking down, and at her short stature (especially in comparison to Illidan) it only made her look smaller and more frail. The lack of magical power in her, save a few budding strands from carrying her own Magicite, only made this more pronounced.

"I don't." Love spell excluded; Terra didn't believe she could count them as her feelings, if she could not recreate them. "I don't know if I can."

Terra thought such feelings would be easier to come by with a heart that was fully human, but even this long without the Esper's power left her with nothing.

seriously /what the hell is this thread........../

And 'odd' was hardly word enough to describe it. The rational part of Terra that wanted to run away from this conversation had been shut up and put in the corner, while the more emotional part — rather, the part that wanted to be emotional, but found itself lacking — practically hung on Illidan's every word.

"But I've never... felt that way on my own," she admitted, her grocery bag crinkling and the cold of frozen meat stealing away her physical warmth. "Even when I try, I can't..."

She could not look up to meet the light glow of where his physical eyes should, keeping her head bowed. While it was true that Aphrodite's ring had given her the sensation of love — given her knowledge of what love was meant to feel like — she could not truly say those were her feelings. She carried the memory of them as a guide, but—

"I'm positive."

The baring of his teeth was probably meant to be frightening — and, at another time, they would be, but Terra's heart was too tangled upon itself to seize up any tighter at the sight. She bit at her lower lip as she tried to form her thoughts into words.

"Because... you weren't alone. You had a family... a whole race of people like you. You belonged somewhere, didn't you? I... I never did. There was never anyone else like me. So how..."
