Man, he was going to maim that magician. At least the charlatan hadn't charged him for the product in anything but time (and having to listen to his complains). And at least he hadn't gotten his hopes up. What a waste.

Still, this irritation might be getting the better of him. Obviously, there was nothing let to say, so he might as well get back to his duties. Karkat considered the psuedochallenge a decent farewell, and lifted a hand as he turned to walk away.
