i see the strings that control the system
WHO: Your Acting Mayor and OPEN
WHERE: City Hall!
WHEN: Sunday, May 8th through Thursday, May 12th
WARNINGS: None yet?
SUMMARY: Alex is doing his best to run things, feel free to bug him with issues, complaints, offers of help, attempted punches to the face, whatever!
FORMAT: WORDS, but make sure to mention when you're visiting in the subject line!
He'd set up food lines, he'd begun establishing a peacekeeping network, he had people in place to handle the power plants, the biggest jobs were out of the way. He even had someone else picking up the slack. There were still things to do, there would always be things to do, but for right now, just for this one moment, he thought he might get a moment's rest.
Boy, was he ever in for a surprise.

Tuesday night
"People from out of town are coming in. And a lot of 'em en't here to help."

He took a moment to compose himself and stood up to offer her a hand. "It was Lyra, right? Do you happen to know where most of the activity is centered?"
no subject
"I'm probably missing a few spots, but a lot of it's centered here and here," Lyra said, pointing to two areas that started glowing red.
"They're ordinary criminals- easy enough to deal with, but it's keeping me busy."

"Things could be a lot worse, though."

wednesday night!
Khisanth is both disappointed and annoyed by the time she claws her way up onto the desk in the middle of the room, though. Who's idea was it to not have food anywhere around in here? Big orange eyes fix onto Alex, a thin tale lashes in irritation.
Someone's got to feed her. ]
no subject
Holy shit!
[ If he had a moment to think about it, he'd realize he's rather hungry as well. ]

Thou hast not near enough rats in this maze.
no subject
[ He tries to rub the sleep out of his eyes and cautiously moves back toward the desk. ]
We, uh, kinda cleared them out a few weeks ago. There was a whole big thing, biblical level plague. You might've enjoyed it.
no subject
So what willst thou feedest me instead?

Wednesday, midday

It was Geddoe, right? What can I help you with?
no subject
I was in the area and thought to check in in person. I wanted to know if the situation had changed any.

Other than having more structures in place to make sure we can last through this, not really. The Red Queen should've been in touch with you about how she's running op for the peacekeeping crews.
How've things been going in your neck of the woods?
no subject
I have not been in touch with the rest of the police force, no. I know Jack Bauer is still in his position, but we haven't spoken.
It's... [sigh] ...on the edge of chaos. Not having any vehicles on the streets helps, but by being visible I've become a target of children wanting to know where their parents are. They're starting to get scared, and I don't blame them.
[a bit of a stern frown] Can we trust that something like this will just wear off after time?

Thursday Morning
Perhaps there was a secretary or security person who tried to stop him even as he waved his psychic paper in their face which read: Agent John Smith CDC, but he breezed on past right into the mayor's office, slamming the door in anyone's face and pulling out his sonic to lock the thing up. Really, people had no idea how helpful he could be!
Spying the large leather chair behind the desk he practically bounced over and plopped down before proceeding to go through the desk drawers.

He was angry enough that he had to keep himself from throwing his coffee mug at the door, instead taking a big gulp and setting it down before proceeding to bag on the door. "What the hell is going on in there? Open this fucking door!"

"Alright, buddy, you better start making with the answe-- What the hell are you doing?"
He stomped up to the desk and started slamming the drawers closed, narrowly missing the doctor's fingers. "Who even are you?"

"Robin, what brings you around? Got a sitrep for me?"
no subject
"Tt. No reason. Though I'm surprised you haven't gone crazy yet."
no subject
"You think that little of my mental fortitude?"
no subject
"It has less to do with you and more so with the situation. But wait, let me guess--you're one of those who loves being in charge."
