Excuse Rayleigh for a minute, he's laughing.

[Hank is clinging to a building's face, dodging thrown projectiles left and right, doing his best to rally bystanders to safety.

There's a young man with blond hair, skin painted blue and with large metal wings strapped to his back, shouting at him about how he was terrible to criticize Cyclops.

Listen, I don't know who this Matt Fraction fellows is, and frankly, I don't much care at the moment, either!

There is absolutely dignity in this, no. But at least Sanji never promised not to touch women. Heaven forbid! He got tired of it quickly enough and lunged to grab the girl around the waist, picking her up and hoisting her over his shoulder. She still beat on his back (and ass) with her bag but there was much less strength and far more flailing about it now. "Now, now," he scolded, turning around with her (and giving pretty much everyone in the area except himself a panty shot, oops). "Pretty girls like you should be sitting in a cafe having a nice drink and talking about handsome men, not getting into the middle of a war."

Pity the other two girls were staunch feminists. Two more baseball bats were coming for him in an instant.
wisestcamper: (This so isn't worth it.)

[personal profile] wisestcamper 2011-05-20 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
Well, she wasn't expecting that sudden concern, and she almost laughed as she nodded. "I've had much worse." She kept her attention on the mob though, and when one of them took a step towards them, one of the girls, she held up her rod menacingly.

"I think we have larger concerns."

"Yeah..." Sanji glanced back at the enemy, instantly wary. "It's a clever enough strategy, but it won't be enough to stop me. I need to get at those other guys, they're the ones that can do some real harm around here."
wisestcamper: (If I could kill you with my mind...)

[personal profile] wisestcamper 2011-05-20 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
Annabeth nodded. "I can make these three move," she said, her voice almost pleasant as she stepped forward. She probably didn't look like much, cut up and bruised, and one of the girls made the mistake of thinking she wasn't, stepping forward to swing an almost pathetic punch at her.

Annabeth swung low and hard, and there was a very, very obvious breaking sound as her pipe connected with the girls shin, shattering it. She went down screaming, and Annabeth turned her attention to the other two.

"You should probably run."
notadartboard: (agile swoop)

[personal profile] notadartboard 2011-05-20 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
For all his strength and manliness, Sanji actually winced at that. So ruthless, yet so effective. He hated to see any girl hurt but...well, he did warn them.

With the girls staring at this interloper who wasn't afraid to beat their asses, Sanji had the opening he needed. He rushed past Annabeth and charged into the pack of guys behind, ducking a fist and spinning a kick into the man's gut. The others swarmed on him, not at all expecting that he could swing his legs in all sorts of directions, nearly straight up at one point. Their resolve waned once each had taken a hit or two, and they broke and started to run. Sanji, however, was not about to let them. "Ohhhh no," he said, "you cowards let ladies be your human shields. I don't let anyone get away with that." He sprang after them, giving chase.

:)

[identity profile] firstmate.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
Poor Sanji. Missing the best view, one he was giving everybody else.

Oh well.

But still, this had gone on long enough. It'd be a shame to see somebody get really hurt over this, and even more of a shame to see these young girls turn to a life of crime and violence (without the additional benefit of being pirates.)

He gave a single glare, directed to the two with baseball bats. Only those two. And they both collapsed in mid-swing.

He did hope Sanji would at least be able to catch the two ladies. If not, he would have to give that man a mild scolding.

[personal profile] notadartboard 2011-05-20 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
It took some quick thinking and maneuvering, but Sanji did it. He set his captive down and lunged for the other two, sliding on his knees across the pavement to come to rest just under them. Each arm caught one unconscious girl. The third just whirled around and stared at Rayleigh, too scared to even accuse him of doing something to her friends.

For his part, Sanji was just as gentle as he would be with a friend. He struggled to his feet with his arms still burdened and carefully dragged both girls to the sidewalk, out of the way. "I told you ladies, this isn't a game," he warned in a quiet tone, mostly to the third. "I don't think you're ready to give your lives like a pirate, are you? Go on, shoo."

After all, there was still a pack of toughs over there. And Sanji was not feeling very generous towards them anymore. He did not have the will to let any of them leave the area conscious and undamaged.

Gamzee stared a bit at that, that was the first time he'd ever been called a kid to his face. Well, it was also one of the first times where no one thought his appearance was going to be weird when nerds were all running around anyway and he hadn't outright threatened to murder anyway, so that probably helped the situation a bit. After he had gotten over that tiny bit of shock Gamzee glanced briefly out to the attackers and smiled.

"Yeah, I all got something wicked for them," he may have said in a whisper, but there was no less force behind the words.

Thankful for his strife deck working with him, he pulled out his bow and knocked an arrow. As usual for him it hit its mark, felling one of the people outside. Sounded a little like another grenade might have been set off out there, but with all the other sounds out there it could have been anything.

[identity profile] firstmate.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
Rayleigh took another swig from his bottle. He didn't particularly want to be noticed, though his conversation probably did draw a little attention. But it would be what it would be.

But with the lovely ladies out of the picture, it was just Sanji and those lackluster ruffians. It didn't take an experienced pirate to see how this would end.

:o)

[personal profile] caprihorn 2011-05-20 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
Gamzee took a second to look at the crackling hand and consider the powers of someone who could appear like that. Then he considered the powers of someone who had not yet just beaten him in the ground, but seemed to him to not be able to immediately take him down.

"Robin Hood wasn't up at being real, as I all recall. And if you all motherfuckin' want me to take this wicked shit elsewhere you're all motherfuckin' going to have to make me, sister."

He then leapt back and aimed to throw the bow directly at Chão's face while he pulled another weapon out of his strife deck. Not knowing what it was yet, he wasn't sure what fighting tactic he'd go with, but as soon as he properly felt the weight he'd be sure to go through with a plan that suited the thing.

wisestcamper: (Okay...that was pretty cool.)

[personal profile] wisestcamper 2011-05-20 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
At Camp Half-Blood, they didn't teach the demi-gods how to be nice to their opponents, after all. The faster you stopped something, the less chance it was going to kill you. The girl on the ground kept screaming, and Annabeth stepped around her as she focused on the other two. If she noticed Sanji running towards the other group, she didn't react.

"Two options. You can leave, or you can not leave. It doesn't matter to me," she spun the rod in her hand as she waited. One of them looked at her fallen friend and then turn and ran. The other took a step forward, but when Annabeth raised the metal rod, she turned tail after her friend also.

It was almost a little disappointing, getting worked up for a fight that didn't happen.

The back of Chao's hand went up, knocking aside the bow before it met her face. She took a wide, low step in, her body low to the ground with it, as the hand she had used to block the bow moved forward into an open palm strike. It was a Northern Shaolin technique, backed up with the power granted by her battle suit (http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f322/dragonmeteor/negima-151/chao-pwns-asuna.jpg). It might not look like much, but the blow would be enough to destroy steel.

She had been hoping to reason with him, or at least threaten him, but she hadn't been able to gather that much intel on whoever had done the archery killings the previous day. It didn't look like he could be reasoned with, and battle instinct was carrying her through this moment. Perhaps after a demonstration of power, they could part their separate ways.

If he got up after this blow.

[ You know what sucks? Being denied food and finding some of your favorite eateries closed, and or, having the place busted up. It wasn't hard running around streets for a good number of minutes looking for Sanji. Tired, over and done with the ridiculousness, and worst of all... hungry. ]

Where's Sanji? I don't have time to deal with everyone--OI, GET OUT OF MY WAY!

[ So, once Luffy spotted another 'familiar' spot of blonde in the crowd he starts making his way over. Luffy's run into more crazy looking Sanji wannabes, even if they weren't trying to imitate him on purpose. This time, he'd had enough of punching everyone in his way to move... That block of thugs and the three ladies in front of Sanji? Now passed out on the ground, and even a few foaming at the mouth. A blast of Haki mean serious biznez and a semi-miffed captain get. ]

Oi, Sanji.

Gamzee, being just smart enough to try and avoid taking a direct blow from anyone, avoided getting with the full force of the strike, but as he got hit he was suddenly reminded of the time he'd taken some of the force behind one of Equius's punches. It didn't hurt, not much did for him, but that was still enough to move him back a bit. Okay, he was going to have to avoid getting a direct blow from her if he could; that'd be a pain in the ass, but he could manage it was sure.

His hand moved up and using mostly his wrist he lashed out with his whip. As he did this he kept moving around, trying to stay out of range. After being in quite a few fights here he was starting to learn a little more about how to judge his enemies and what to do about maneuvering around them. He wasn't perfect, but he was fast and he was very resilient, so it would be a little difficult to knock Gamzee down. Provided he didn't get hit on his weak point at least.

Oh hey, would you look at that. Her smile is a little quieter this time around. "Just a a few days. It's nice, so far. Clean." She nods, still running through the logistics in her mind of a vampire cop. She spends most her life in denial anyway, why make an exception now.

"I was gonna say group--" But he can't finish what he was going to say, exactly because of the herd of crazy nerds. Turning on the spot, he takes one out with a seamlessly easy punch to the face. Which surprises Peter just as much as the guy now laying at his feet.

Peter wasn't actually all that versed in hand to hand combat, so he was immensely baffled as to how exactly he'd just taken down the guy. But he couldn't think too much about it because he lands a kick into the next guy and Peter's still more than a little bit confused. Sure, he's gotten into fights before, before they were never this easy.

sob then he will have it

[identity profile] slayerpreferred.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 01:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hive mind creepy-outy? Yeah. I agree." She punches her way through a few guys, so weirded out by them all knowing her name. Turning to watch Peter, landing another distracted kick, her eyes widen though a small smile breaks through and she takes down the next guy with an almost identical roundhouse. "Hey, you're pretty good. With super strength and super healing... thing, you must get all the ladies."

[identity profile] grey1911.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 01:52 pm (UTC)(link)
"We work hard to make it that way."

What happens next might or might not help with her denial.  An enthusiastic officer comes running up to Aaron with a bandage on his shoulder, very close to his neck.  He does a visible double-take at Buffy but seems more interested in Aaron.

"Hey, Lieutenant!  You caught him!"  The officer smiles while the nerd turns almost deathly pale. "Lost your bite when you got caught by the real thing, eh?  I can take care of him from here, sir.  Commissioner wants you to call her when you get the chance though."

"Thank you."  Aaron hands off the Dracula and turns to Buffy.  "If you'll follow me, please.  I need to make this call.  I should only need a few minutes."

[identity profile] slayerpreferred.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 01:56 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, um. Yes. I say yes." And she's back to following awkwardly, only going a little wide-eyed as the other men disappear. Something about this guy makes her feel five years old, and she's not sure if it's the vampage or the copage, but it's all about the weird either way. "Who do you have to call? Mrs. Vampire?"

[identity profile] grey1911.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 02:11 pm (UTC)(link)
The look on his face says he's not amused with her little quip as he heads for the station.  He's not about to make a scene out of it though, so he just keeps his eyes ahead.

"I need to call the Commissioner of the Import police.  She's probably scheduled a press conference.  It's likely I'll be addressing the city again this afternoon."  He doesn't exactly sound thrilled about it, though.  Considering the mayhem currently, it shouldn't be hard to understand why.

[identity profile] slayerpreferred.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 02:36 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh." She feels like a dick, but she's still not sure how to apologize. When she gets nervous, she just gets quippy. But that's not really an excuse, so she'll try something else instead... "Public speaking sucks. I don't..envy you. And thanks, for uh. Saving me." There, she was pretty pleased with herself. She just thanked a vampire, go her.

[Sanji's probably one of few people who can stand up to a burst of haki, especially if it isn't directed at him]

Huh? Oh, Luffy.

[identity profile] grey1911.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 03:34 pm (UTC)(link)
He glances over at her, a mellow, but quizzical look on his face.  Save her?  He'd almost bowled her over chasing after a human wearing a costume.

"You're welcome, though I'm not certain what for."  He shoves his hands into his pockets.  "Judging from the crossbow, I doubt he would have given you too much trouble if he had tried anything."
