WHO: [livejournal.com profile] secondhandwebs and [livejournal.com profile] batghoul
WHERE: Reilly's apartment
WHEN: Monday night
WARNINGS: Probably none!
SUMMARY: Cass comes by to see Reilly, but he's not at home. May is, however.
FORMAT: whatever

Cass quickly scaled the side of Reilly's apartment building. She'd been in the neighborhood, and a quick stop by to see her boyfriend and ask him if he wanted to patrol together seemed like a good start to the evening. She could also show off a slightly modified version of her usual costume: the black bodysuit remained the same, but she'd finally felt comfortable enough to put the bat symbol on her chest. The cape was long and tattered, the handiwork of her younger self. Reaching his window, she tapped lightly and waited. No response. She tapped harder, but still no sign of Reilly. So she quickly picked the lock, and slipped inside.

He obviously wasn't in his room--and he'd probably have a heart attack if he knew she was in there without him--so she crept quietly toward the door. "Reilly?" she called out timidly as she cracked the door open.

May leaned against the counter, relaxing slightly at that. Well, at least nothing terrible was happening. And, she had to admit, Reilly going out on patrol as a normal girlfriend activity seemed about right. Cute, even.

"He lucked out, didn't he." That...might sound odd out of her own thought processes, wouldn't it? "I mean, finding a girl with the same, er, love for certain hobbies."

May'd been curious about how this whole thing had started, but asking 'so how did you actually stand him long enough to start dating?' seemed like...a bad thing. No matter how lovingly said. There had to be a more delicate way to put it.

"So how'd you two meet, anyway? You know Reilly. He's not much on...sharing on certain topics."

"...it would start with fighting."

She said it with a grin, though. The video of Reilly getting dog-piled with kids was still fresh in her mind. That place had been better for him than she'd known, she would have to make Mr. Rand a present if he ever returned.

"So who asked who out?"

[So sorry for the slow. Visiting home and internet is a little more scarce than I anticipated.]

"Accidentally?"

May was slipping into normal, comfortable girlfriend gossip mode without even noticing. Somehow, after a year in the City and her time as a mask before the cape and outfit was easy to ignore.

"But you were going to ask him out anyway?"

Awkwardness characterized all of Reilly's relationships, which was part of the reason May couldn't help but be all too entertained by the story. That, combined with her natural affinity for such topics, of course.

"Because of his charming personality?"

It was said with love, but there are truth to it. The first time they'd met he'd more or less called her a useless little girl and told her to go home, after all. It was hard to think of him making good first impressions.

"Lucky guy," she more or less hummed. Good for him. For them both, really.

"He's a little less...uh, uptight, since you two started going out, you know."
