WHO: it's those damn [Bad username or site: niceassassin title=fantasy @ livejournal.com] [Bad username or site: fantasycliche title=people @ livejournal.com] again.
WHERE: MAC parking lot!
WHEN: not long after Zevran's most recent post
WARNINGS: noneee
SUMMARY: KHISANTH IS BEING CREEPY AND HAS A GIFT FOR ZEVRAN. this is how you express horrible mushy romantic affection when you're a dragon.
FORMAT: quickshityeeaaahhh
[ It's not as though it'd been particularly difficult to obtain. No, all it had taken was a dark night, an empty road, and a stroke of luck. The original driver of the silvery car (a porsche, she thinks she'd heard someone call it) had had the misfortune of granting Khisanth her opportunity, and that was all it'd taken. She had been considering getting one of these cars for herself, after all.
She lounges now on the hood of the car as she waits for Zevran to show up, enjoying the graceful swoop of the headlights across the otherwise flat plane. It's a very nice car, which could really only be bettered by being black. It's almost a shame to give it away.
Almost. Her intended recipient is, fortunately, worth it. ]

Zevran covers up his initial puzzled expression and heads over to meet her. ]
Well? Here I am.
no subject
Yes, sort of. Come nearer.
no subject
Remember, if you eat me, I shall be very upset.
no subject
[ Figuring he's as good as close enough, she finally stands, steps to close the gap between them and stand a little uncomfortably close, and -- car keys! Dangling from one hand, held between them. ]
Have you driven a car yet, Zevran?
no subject
Looks at her. ]
I prefer to kill people by design, not by accident.
no subject
It's not hard. I'll show you.
no subject
[ But the keys get clasped into his hand, and he looks down at them in confusion. ]
Come, Khisanth, tell me. What is this?
no subject
It's a gift. I'm sure you're familiar with the concept.
no subject
You jest, my dear.
[ A pause. ]
No. No, you don't jest, do you? Not in this.
no subject
Maybe you're wondering what I expect out of this. Is that it?
no subject
[ His posture is getting increasingly defensive as this heads into unfamiliar territory. He's figured out by now what to do with the curious dragon she usually is, but not...this.
Whatever this is. ]
no subject
[ She's rolling her eyes, opening the door to slide into the passenger's seat. He'd better follow, she doesn't intend to sit around in a shut-off car all day waiting for him to decide she's sane. ]
no subject
[ But he opens the door and sits down in the driver's seat. He doesn't intend to drive, but maybe she'll be more willing to explain this thing if he seems like he's cooperating.
...also, leather seats. ]
no subject
Do you like it?
no subject
[ He gestures to the backseat. ]
I am told this is what that part of the car is for. It seems a fascinating idea.
no subject
After a while, sounding earnestly curious: ] Do you want me to start saying yes to these things? I can't tell.
no subject
That is a dangerous question and I will not answer it without knowing what you intend by asking it.
[ Stalling. He's desperately confused. Why would she show that kind of interest in him now? She had her chance at him, everyone has a chance at him, and she didn't take it then. It's difficult enough to tell whether she's a threat, an ally, a friend, or an enemy in disguise, and now this? ]
no subject
A little reproachfully: ] Stop treating me like you have to be afraid of me.
no subject
You could kill me with one swipe of a claw, and you have considered eating me in the past. Do not deny it. I would be mad not to fear you sometimes.
[ Now there's a hint of defensiveness in his voice, too, and he looks away. ]
And perhaps, because I have spent too long around you and grown soft, I am a little afraid for you, because whatever absurdity has gripped your mind may be dangerous to you as well as to me.
no subject
[ She's glanced away to aim her frown at the dashboard. This isn't quite how she pictured her gift being accepted, and she's not sure how it went wrong. She sighs, and both arms fold over her chest. ]
There's nothing gripping my mind. Aside from irritation, maybe.
no subject
[ He looks back at her, his expression curious now. ]
Then why the gifts, the sudden desire? Is this how you wish to own me now? I will not have it.
no subject
...Yes. [ a scowl. She can't remember ever being so lost in her own mind -- except, perhaps, for the last time she spent any time as a human. ] I don't know.
no subject
Then he reaches for the door handle. ]
This is a ridiculous game. You cannot possibly feel what you're acting as if you do. Enough. I am leaving. Try your tricks on one who doesn't know you too well, Khisanth.
no subject
What am I doing wrong? This isn't -- it wasn't supposed to go like this.
no subject
What you did wrong was to think you could deceive me so easily. If you are even thinking so far to begin with--perhaps you're bewitched, instead.
[ Time to try to throw her off with some lewdness. ]
Or are you in heat? That is a dragon thing, yes? Find a drake, or burn down a small village in your frustration. Do not involve me.
no subject
[ She breaks off, pressing her lips together. No matter how much she likes him, or how much she wants him, she can't abandon her pride entirely. She spends a few seconds glaring, then reaches for her own door handle to climb out first. ]
I can't believe I'm trying. You're not worth the time, elf. [ which is pretty much the last thing she wants to be saying, but pride is awfully insistent. ]
no subject
[ He looks away from her, staring straight ahead, waiting for her to leave so he can be alone with his confusion and distrust. ]
no subject
With a noise of disgust she climbs out of the car, making sure to slam the door.
And as she stalks away, the anger is replaced almost entirely by that strange desire to go find somewhere quiet and empty and just -- she's not sure. And even worse, she still can't tell how things went so badly. ]
