WARNINGS: Kiryu and Bruno's confusing friendship. Also possibly Kiryu's mouth.
SUMMARY: Bruno feels like kind of a douche for refusing to accept that Yuusei is gone not telling Kiryu sooner that Yuusei is gone. So he's invited Kiryu out to one of his local haunts to apologize, as well as to perhaps touch upon a few other things. And, inevitably, get mocked by Kiryu for his taste in eateries.

[To say that Bruno is UNSURE about this would be an understatement. Mostly because Kiryu's tone in their very very short conversation made it sort of almost sound like Kiryu's going to punch him in the face as soon as he walks in. Which, well, Bruno isn't concerned about for his own sake, so much as he really likes this place and he doesn't want to cause the owners any trouble by starting an imPort fight right in their establishment.]

[But this is still the place they've set up to meet at, so Bruno's just gonna sit there on his side of the narrow two-seater table by the big window and tightly cradle his coffee and wait (while the serving gal behind the cafe bar stares openly and him and wipes down the same space of counter over and over again while wondering how the fuck his hands aren't burning yet because she just poured him that hot coffee about 30 seconds ago, what.)]

[Seeing Kiryu notice him stumbling makes Bruno suddenly try very hard to come across more sure-footed about this. Even if he's gotten a lot more certain these past couple months that Kiryu truly wants to be friends with him, it still almost feels like there's a bigger... risk, somehow, in telling Kiryu about this, than there was telling people like Ruka or Lupin, or even Alastair.]

Um... [finds himself making a little throat-clearing cough, even though he doesn't technically need to] It's about... that time a few months ago, when you and Alastair broke into Kaibacorp. And I ran into you. Er, remember?

[Okay, this part he can't help but look kinda awkward about. "Remember when I judo-locked you and smashed your face into the floor" is pretty much never not a terrible conversation starter.]

[Kiryu laughs and rolls his eyes. Well, that was one way to put it. Did bruno really think he would have forgotten about that? That night had been one of the most fun times since he'd arrived here.]

How could I forget? I had bruises for weeks after that.

[... In any case, he is now swallowing down what would probably be Compulsive Round of Apologies #14 and moving on.]

--But yeah, it's... about the reason I ended up reacting like that with Alastair's powers, instead of just passing out like most people did. I've... I already told Alastair-- I mean, they're his powers, so I figured he deserved to know, you know?-- but I asked him to keep it to himself, for now. It's... not anything really big, I just don't really like telling people about it until I'm, uh... ready. ...


[Well, he looks... mostly ready, but he still tosses a glance at Kiryu like he thinks he ought to wait for a response before he goes on.]

[Wow, Bruno is really nervous about this. Kiryu has a pretty good idea of what's coming next, but Bruno's so nervous about it, he's not sure. He didn't really think that was something to be so nervous about; it was cool and not really that unusual around here.

Of course, he could be completely wrong so he wasn't sure he wanted to say anything here...and Bruno might think Alastair had said something if he was right...]

[It's your fault for being confusing and intimidating Kiryu :T and ttly not at all Bruno's for not having the guts to ask a straight question ever. He nods though, after a second.]

[... Well now this is just starting to feel vaguely anticlimactic. He sorta glances away from Kiryu and rubs the back of his neck.]

[For a moment, Kiryu does look surprised...because wow he was actually right for once. Much as he likes to pretend he's always right, it doesn't actually happen that often.

But the moment is pretty quick, and he smiles and leans back in his seat again.]
