best things in life being free still (except like...xbox or something) [OPEN]
WHO: Giselle, folks
WHERE: that centrally-located park we all use and abuse
WHEN: 7/5, late morning to late afternoonish
WARNINGS: Abuh
SUMMARY: She's just giving away this junk now
FORMAT: no (whatever you want)
City pigeons are so clever. How they managed to find spare baskets and boxes around was beyond Giselle - she being not nearly as clever about finding things in the City on her own (well, aside from Shockwave's curtains). She was very lucky to have so many wonderful friends - human or otherwise - to help her out in a pinch! And it certainly was a pinch to her; there was still far too much delicious food laying around than anyone could hope to eat without a stomachache in the near future...
Strawberry-everything. Strawberry pie, strawberry tarts, strawberry fritters, strawberry cupcakes, little plastic cups of strawberries and melted chocolate...The vendor at the open-air market who sold those crates of strawberries to her was sure to flag her down in a hurry next time she passed by. She was very easy to convince.
The spirit of the festivities that rang across the City the night previous had her doubly energized, eager to prolong the atmosphere as much as she could. And it seemed to work! People were more than happy to approach, ask what was going on, and grab a slice of pie or two, and Giselle was more than happy to oblige.
And so it went throughout the course of the day until all the baskets and boxes were barren, save for the crumbs pigeons happily picked at once enough people had left.
(feel more than welcome to mingle with each other in here while you get fat on pastries! putting timestamps can help coordinate that for each other.)

At least, she hoped they would do that. She wasn't entirely certain the people of the current era were as kind and caring as they ought to be.
It came as a shock to her, then, to see someone not only smiling and happy, but handing out free food. Mostly-healthy, good-looking food, at that. Not the best, likely, considering it was out in the open in a place with such filthy air, but still none of the hot-dog rubbish in the metal carts she'd warned the network about a couple of weeks ago. And fruit was a better option than anything else.
Approaching Giselle, Mother Squirrel folded her paws in front of herself and sniffed the air around a tiny pile of cupcakes, her nose wrinkling just so and the big bushy tail sticking out of her dress twitching twice.
Mmm. Just right.
"How marvelous. Did you make these yourself? Your mother must have taught you very well."

Her mouth began to split into a smile of delight. The biggest squirrel she'd ever seen, and...in such an adorable dress!
"Oh, goodness," she uttered, a delighted laugh mixed into her voice. She curtsied at the compliment. "Why, thank you so much! But I wasn't all by myself. I had a few friends helping me keep things in order, or I'd have lost my place, making so many things at once!
"But, please!" Her hand waved over some of the wares. "Please, try any you like! As many as you want. I don't mind at all!"
2ish?
So when she strolled into the park, she was pretty much giddily excited.

"Oh! Kaylee! Over here!" She waved enthusiastically, beckoning her over. The pigeons were still mulling around expectantly, and there was a dog or two sniffing about amid children and curious passersby.

Afternoon, miss.

Good afternoon, sir! Would you like something to eat? I still have so much!

I don't think we've ever had the opportunity to actually meet, yet. I'm Jack Harkness.

It's a pleasure to meet you, too. [A pause.] ...Did you make all of those?

sometime between one and two!
The sight of Giselle in the park as he made his way through it only further brightened his mood. He headed over to her. "Bringing your crafts to market, my dear?" he called.

But, as he was her friend, simple greetings like that just wouldn't do. She shuffled around her little fort of boxes and baskets and over to him, and there was really no escaping her embrace. "It's so good to see you again!"

"Oh, I've been just fine, thank you. Keeping myself busy, so you see!" When she turned, she waved her arm across the small stockpile. "So you should try, too. You like strawberries, don't you?"
Around quarter to twelve - very glad Vivi's out of hospital so he could attend!
He toddled along with a thermos and a smile to where Giselle had set up, making no attempt to hide how in awe he was.
"I never knew there could be so many strawberry things..."
no subject
"I didn't, either," Giselle replied. "When I went to buy strawberries, the kind old seller showed me a few cards with all kinds of different recipies! I just had to try. These, here--" she pointed at a basket of tarts, "--I'd never made these before, but they turned out just wonderful. You can try one, if you like!"
no subject
"They're yummy!" he said. He was about to reach for another one when he stopped himself. "I shouldn't just try them though - what else is there?" he asked, not quite sure what to try next.
no subject
"I made these little things called fritters, here, and this is the pie...and I made cupcakes here, and-! Well, well this isn't really baked, but it's chocolate to dip the berries in and it's very good. Go on!"
no subject
"Could I try a slice of pie please?" he finally asked. "I think that's the most interesting looking one here. It must've taken you ages to get everything made."
