Spar in the Park-Open
WHO: Chang Wufei and whoever shows up
WHERE: Close to the water in one of the smaller parks
WHEN: Early morning throughout the week? Longer if more people show up.
WARNINGS: None, though possible violence
SUMMARY: Wufei trains alone every morning before work-people have the opportunity to pester him either for a chat, or for a spar.
NOTE: Each thread will be taken as a separate day just for simplicities sake.
FORMAT: Anything goes!
It was Wufei's usual morning routine back on his world to train first thing in the morning unless he was on a mission or otherwise incapacitated, and he saw no reason to stop that in the new time. And since he had discovered his new 'power', he only sought to train harder so he could get a better handle on it and strengthen the ability. Make it more useful.
He settled into the soothing motions of his morning stretches, then moved on to the fluid moves of Tai Chi.

random morning, go. before work.
And something interesting was. She thought she recognized the young human near the pond in one of the parks, and drifted down for a closer look. Ah, yes. The one who wanted to fly.
Well. A Seeker could take care of that, couldn't she? Oh yes, she could.
She paused about twenty feet up, flipping her body around to hover. Would he notice her? Her jets didn't make noise, but the air movement they produced did. Should she just..snag him and go? That could have some unpleasant consequences.
"Well, well. Enjoying yourself?"
xD Poor boy
The combination of voice and appearance had him recognize her more than the words. The... what did she call herself? Cybertronian? The one who'd offered to fly with him, when he had the ability to fly. He let out a quiet huff and straightened, arms crossing.
"I was."
And yet he wasn't really irritated, just a bit annoyed that his training had been interrupted.
:D
"Were you? Don't let me interrupt~" The femme practically purred, slowly lowering herself to the ground. The landing was soft, punctuated by the abrupt shutoff of her jets.
"Did you discover your abilities yet?"
no subject
"I'll keep that in mind for the future."
As for answering the question, his smirk widened rather smugly. "Yes, as a matter of fact I have."
While they weren't as impressive as the power of flight, Wufei wasn't going to count them as weak or without a potential for being dead useful. He'd even managed to get a better grasp on controlling them since his time away, enough that when he flicked a hand at the water, a wave rose up before resettling.
He didn't have the intention of attacking her, after all. So no reason to splash her. Yet.
no subject
"No flight? How disappointing~" the femme crooned, shifting to plant a fist on her hip as she studied him thoughtfully. Grab him now or talk first? Surely he wanted to fly, didn't he?
Wouldn't anyone? Of course they would.
"I could remedy that little problem for you, you know~"
no subject
Women.
"So you've said before. I don't have anything to fly with yet." And if she was thinking of picking him up and flying that way, she would have a growly short man on her hands.
no subject
"And as I said, I could remedy that~"
Slipstream activated her jets again, hovering a foot above the ground and debating whether to just grab him. If she started from too far away, he'd dodge. If she was too close, it would be harder to get up to speed.
Also, the femme disliked punching.

Wufei settled into a wary ready position, pride not about to let him back up. Dodge, yes. Back up, not so much.
"Assuming I have a say in that, I'd rather get there on my own." But perhaps she really was just trying to do him a favor, as a certain blond Preventer he'd known would have pointed out, there was no need to be rude. "The offer is appreciated."
no subject
"Oh, really? It's quite exhilarating, you know. You'll like it."

homeback to his quarters after his triple-creature-movie-feature when he happened to stumble upon the training in process. As per usual his footfalls are silent, but sadly the slurping of his Icee gives away his position.Worst.
Ninja.
Ever.

But he didn't give that away until it was obvious he had to have heard the intruder before he turned to face the... giant... turtle? What the... The Chinese teen fought to hide his surprise, though the widening of his eyes rather gave it away.
no subject
Then he just kind of stands there for a moment or two. So as to give the kid a chance to get a good long look at the nearly man-sized mutant turtle in human street clothes and sneakers.
"Hi."
no subject
"Can I help you with something?" Or was his training a spectator sport now?
no subject
He takes another sip, unsure of what to say...until it hits him.
"Tai Chi, huh? Nice."
no subject
"Have you watched classes before?"
no subject
"A couple, yeah. When I can find them close to dawn or dusk. Usually it's dawn, because no one wants to be in the parks at dusk."
At least not in the shadowy neighborhoods.
no subject
And yet wasn't trying to evade his questions as far as he could tell. Very, very odd.
"The light is better at dawn, anyway." As well as there being something refreshing about the start of the day, rather than the end of it.
no subject
"Yeah, it just doesn't get better than this, does it?"
He's a turtle of simple pleasures.
no subject
"Not often, no." Not from Earth, at least.
no subject
"So you're like, super dedicated to your art then, huh?"
From Mike's perspective there is no other reason why someone would be willingly up this early to practice. Yeah, that's right Leo, he's judging you from an entire different dimension.

Wufei's smile disappeared by the time he looked away from the sky, for once not looking up at the person he was talking to.
"It's a ritual that I have followed each day since I was young." Dedicated was one way of putting it. And as he was only seventeen, Mike could probably guess Wufei was talking at least ten years, though it was closer to fifteen.
no subject
"I got a brother just like you back home. I'd probably be just like you too, if I didn't love sleep so much."
Also junk food, comics, movies, video games, and really anything else that he can think of to keep him out of the family dojo.
no subject
So like Duo. Wufei found another small smile, though it was more dry and amused than anything. He wasn't going to admit he missed the loud idiot. It also upped his assessment of Mike, considering how dangerous Duo was.
"You sound like a friend of mine."
no subject
Man, even his voice smiles.
no subject
"Annoyingly good."
no subject
He pauses, the smile dropping ever so slightly as he then tries to decide what to do next.
"I've got to be honest, I'm not sure if I offer my hand for shaking or bow here. Which would you prefer?"
no subject
Another mark in the turtle's favor. Most people didn't bother asking. For that, he answered by unfolding his arms to his sides and bowing slightly. Taking it a step further, "I am Chang Wufei. A pleasure to meet you." And it was.

You don't need a middle name when the only name you have has five syllables.
no subject
no subject
"Given. I wouldn't wish a name like this on anyone."
Don't get Mike wrong, he loves his father, but who looks at a little kid and thinks: Michaelangelo. INSANE PEOPLE, that's who!
no subject
"It is hardly a bad name."
no subject
no subject
"Perhaps your parents simply enjoyed the history of the name and wished to show their appreciation."
Then again, he knew next to nothing about Michaelangelo, so he was making a shot off into the dark without infra-red goggles or a map.
no subject
Dubious Mike is dubious.
"Yeah, that's what Splinter says, but I've a hunch that Art: a history was the only book he had on hand, and he liked the pictures of the naked ladies."
no subject
Wufei fought to keep his surprise from showing, though showed as a raised brow. "I'll take your word for it."
no subject
"Well that's not your best plan ever," he admits with a smirk. "So how long do you usually practice before...doing what ever else it is you do?"
no subject
He chose to answer the question rather than respond to the comment. "At least an hour before I help open the bookstore I work at."
no subject
"Ooh, what kind of books?"
no subject
"All kinds," Wufei said with a rather smug smile. "Rare, used, and new."

Some morning after the 7th, continuing the theme of non-humans...
And, after having spent months traveling to places where nature truly thrived, it was almost a disappointment returning to 'civilization.' But she had been among utterly ordinary humans long enough to start to miss the tiny reminders of home that existed in the City - such as magic users and the feel of more than one race's dreams alongside her own.
It's early morning when she stepped out of a dream into the small park, on the shoreline of the pond, seeming to fade into existence from out of nowhere. She's a tall woman with green hair, pointed ears, and small green horns, wearing pale green robes in high fantasy style. She was obviously either an Import, or someone so far into roleplaying that she fell out the other side.
She wiggled her bare toes in the inch or so of water she arrived in and turned her head to take in her surroundings through closed eyes.

True, he could no longer live far beneath the ocean waves the way he would have liked, his Porter-granted humanoid body unable to handle the enormous amount of pressure. That did not, however, stop him from diving into any river, pond, lake, or pool that even looked like it might successfully contain him.
So it was that he happened to be incredibly annoyed by the sound of footsteps nearby, and poked just enough of his head above the surface to watch Wufei work.
