Spar in the Park-Open

WHO: Chang Wufei and whoever shows up
WHERE: Close to the water in one of the smaller parks
WHEN: Early morning throughout the week? Longer if more people show up.
WARNINGS: None, though possible violence
SUMMARY: Wufei trains alone every morning before work-people have the opportunity to pester him either for a chat, or for a spar.
NOTE: Each thread will be taken as a separate day just for simplicities sake.
FORMAT: Anything goes!

It was Wufei's usual morning routine back on his world to train first thing in the morning unless he was on a mission or otherwise incapacitated, and he saw no reason to stop that in the new time. And since he had discovered his new 'power', he only sought to train harder so he could get a better handle on it and strengthen the ability. Make it more useful.

He settled into the soothing motions of his morning stretches, then moved on to the fluid moves of Tai Chi.

random morning, go. before work.

Alone? He didn't get to be alone. Not if Slipstream had anything to say about it. Not, of course, that she'd planned to bother him. It was early, quite a bit earlier than she was normally off to work, and the femme was just flying lazily over the City, occasionally swooping down to see if anything interesting was going on.

And something interesting was. She thought she recognized the young human near the pond in one of the parks, and drifted down for a closer look. Ah, yes. The one who wanted to fly.

Well. A Seeker could take care of that, couldn't she? Oh yes, she could.

She paused about twenty feet up, flipping her body around to hover. Would he notice her? Her jets didn't make noise, but the air movement they produced did. Should she just..snag him and go? That could have some unpleasant consequences.

"Well, well. Enjoying yourself?"
seekerfemme: (Wicked | DND means slag off Starscream.)

:D

[personal profile] seekerfemme 2011-07-08 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
The Decepticon didn't care one way or another what he was annoyed at; she had an agenda. And he'd be flying whether it was under his own power or not.

"Were you? Don't let me interrupt~" The femme practically purred, slowly lowering herself to the ground. The landing was soft, punctuated by the abrupt shutoff of her jets.

"Did you discover your abilities yet?"
seekerfemme: (Laugh | Nothing bitchy about it)

[personal profile] seekerfemme 2011-07-08 03:35 pm (UTC)(link)
The wave was a bit of a surprise, earning him a raised eyebrow.

"No flight? How disappointing~" the femme crooned, shifting to plant a fist on her hip as she studied him thoughtfully. Grab him now or talk first? Surely he wanted to fly, didn't he?

Wouldn't anyone? Of course they would.

"I could remedy that little problem for you, you know~"

seekerfemme: (Seeker | I make this look good.)

[personal profile] seekerfemme 2011-07-08 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Less 'women' and more Decepticon, honestly. To clarify further, more Starscream clone than anything. Not that he knew who Starscream was.

"And as I said, I could remedy that~"

Slipstream activated her jets again, hovering a foot above the ground and debating whether to just grab him. If she started from too far away, he'd dodge. If she was too close, it would be harder to get up to speed.

Also, the femme disliked punching.
seekerfemme: (Amused | Well actually you're an idiot.)

Aliens. Yesss, that was the case. She'd have to bother him about it when she realized he didn't want to think about them.

"Oh, really? It's quite exhilarating, you know. You'll like it."

Mike was taking the long way homeback to his quarters after his triple-creature-movie-feature when he happened to stumble upon the training in process. As per usual his footfalls are silent, but sadly the slurping of his Icee gives away his position.

Worst.
Ninja.
Ever.

[identity profile] michaeljangelo.livejournal.com 2011-07-08 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Mike takes one last, long, slurping pull from his Icee, before giving the kid a half-hearted wave. A half-hearted, three-fingered green hand, wave.

Then he just kind of stands there for a moment or two. So as to give the kid a chance to get a good long look at the nearly man-sized mutant turtle in human street clothes and sneakers.

"Hi."

[identity profile] michaeljangelo.livejournal.com 2011-07-08 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
"No...I'm, you know...good."
He takes another sip, unsure of what to say...until it hits him.

"Tai Chi, huh? Nice."

[identity profile] michaeljangelo.livejournal.com 2011-07-08 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
His snout wrinkles slightly as he recalls the the last few times he's seen people practicing in any of the many green spaces NYC has to offer.

"A couple, yeah. When I can find them close to dawn or dusk. Usually it's dawn, because no one wants to be in the parks at dusk."

At least not in the shadowy neighborhoods.

[identity profile] michaeljangelo.livejournal.com 2011-07-08 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Mike takes this opportunity to look up and just...enjoy the sky.

"Yeah, it just doesn't get better than this, does it?"

He's a turtle of simple pleasures.

[identity profile] michaeljangelo.livejournal.com 2011-07-08 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't think he didn't see that smile, Wufei, because he totally did. And you can probably tell because his own smile just increased by a factor of three.

"So you're like, super dedicated to your art then, huh?"

From Mike's perspective there is no other reason why someone would be willingly up this early to practice. Yeah, that's right Leo, he's judging you from an entire different dimension.

[identity profile] michaeljangelo.livejournal.com 2011-07-08 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
So not much older than Mike then...

"I got a brother just like you back home. I'd probably be just like you too, if I didn't love sleep so much."

Also junk food, comics, movies, video games, and really anything else that he can think of to keep him out of the family dojo.

[identity profile] michaeljangelo.livejournal.com 2011-07-08 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
"That a good thing or a bad thing?"
Man, even his voice smiles.

[identity profile] michaeljangelo.livejournal.com 2011-07-08 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
"Ha! Annoying good, huh?" He repeats it, and then nods in agreement as he rolls the compliment over in his mind. "I'll take that."

He pauses, the smile dropping ever so slightly as he then tries to decide what to do next.

"I've got to be honest, I'm not sure if I offer my hand for shaking or bow here. Which would you prefer?"

[identity profile] michaeljangelo.livejournal.com 2011-07-08 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"Michaelangelo, but call me Mike. It's shorter, easier to say, and less likely to make me think I'm getting in trouble for something," says Mike with a bow of equal depth. "It's nice to meet you too."

You don't need a middle name when the only name you have has five syllables.

[identity profile] michaeljangelo.livejournal.com 2011-07-08 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
One of his brow-ridges goes up, as if to say who the fuck you kiddin', buddy?

"Given. I wouldn't wish a name like this on anyone."

Don't get Mike wrong, he loves his father, but who looks at a little kid and thinks: Michaelangelo. INSANE PEOPLE, that's who!

[identity profile] michaeljangelo.livejournal.com 2011-07-08 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"Says the guy with the perfectly good and culturally appropriate name."

[identity profile] michaeljangelo.livejournal.com 2011-07-08 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
And yet, even with the handicaps, Wufei's aim is true.

Dubious Mike is dubious.
"Yeah, that's what Splinter says, but I've a hunch that Art: a history was the only book he had on hand, and he liked the pictures of the naked ladies."

[identity profile] michaeljangelo.livejournal.com 2011-07-08 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Mike merely grins. Wufei's reaction is pretty much the same one Leo had when Mike presented him with his 'theory'. The only difference is Wufei didn't smack Mike upside the head.

"Well that's not your best plan ever," he admits with a smirk. "So how long do you usually practice before...doing what ever else it is you do?"

[identity profile] michaeljangelo.livejournal.com 2011-07-08 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Well that certainly got Mike's interest.

"Ooh, what kind of books?"

[identity profile] michaeljangelo.livejournal.com 2011-07-09 02:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"What's your genre fiction section like?"

Some morning after the 7th, continuing the theme of non-humans...

Since her return to the City from Europe, Ysera had been visiting the various parks throughout the City, seeing how things had changed since she was last here, and making sure the spots of nature weren't wasting away. There was little enough green growing things, in this City of metal and pavement, that losing any of it would be a shame.

And, after having spent months traveling to places where nature truly thrived, it was almost a disappointment returning to 'civilization.' But she had been among utterly ordinary humans long enough to start to miss the tiny reminders of home that existed in the City - such as magic users and the feel of more than one race's dreams alongside her own.

It's early morning when she stepped out of a dream into the small park, on the shoreline of the pond, seeming to fade into existence from out of nowhere. She's a tall woman with green hair, pointed ears, and small green horns, wearing pale green robes in high fantasy style. She was obviously either an Import, or someone so far into roleplaying that she fell out the other side.

She wiggled her bare toes in the inch or so of water she arrived in and turned her head to take in her surroundings through closed eyes.

Although people knew of him because of his rampages on land, Godzilla was equally at home in the water, if not more so, given his preference for long rests at the bottom of the ocean. It soothed the muscles after heavy work delivering a beatdown to other monsters, and more importantly, helped to cool his flesh.

True, he could no longer live far beneath the ocean waves the way he would have liked, his Porter-granted humanoid body unable to handle the enormous amount of pressure. That did not, however, stop him from diving into any river, pond, lake, or pool that even looked like it might successfully contain him.

So it was that he happened to be incredibly annoyed by the sound of footsteps nearby, and poked just enough of his head above the surface to watch Wufei work.
