SUMMARY: Tom takes his JSA sis to the best show ever, in her opinion
FORMAT: Quick, because I'm slow enough as it is.



[Tom had never seen Wicked before, but he pretty much knew the plot already thanks to Maxine, as well as the lines to most of the songs. It wasn't something he'd ever go to see on his own, but he actually enjoyed the show, and he enjoyed spending the time with Maxine even more.

He had kind of felt like he'd been neglecting her lately, which definitely wasn't acceptable since she was his teammate... More than that, even. She was his friend, and Jay had always emphasized that the JSA was supposed to be a family, so he made sure that the night was as good as it could possibly be. He even wore a suit for the occasion, which was a miracle in itself.

Once the show had ended, he took her to a small cafe he'd found that had huge comfy chairs and great drinks.]

So, was it as good as you imagined it would be?

Kinda hard not to, I think. I can't imagine not having a good time with you, actually. [HA. SHE'S TALKING SO FAST THAT YOU CAN'T COMMENT ON THAT.] We should do something like that again sometime. But you can pick something you like?

Stop apologizing, already! I told you it was fine, didn't I? You don't need to keep it up. Beside that, you're here now. [She smiles a little, trying not to seem too hopeful about it -- just in case he changes his mind. She doesn't want to be a bother. She's so use to being a bother...] We did at the beginning. A bit, anyway, remember? That was kind of nice.

I'll be sure to pick something you'll enjoy, then. [He looks down, smiling as she tells him to stop apologizing. He's honestly relieved that she isn't too upset about it, and it seemed like she was settling well. Hell, she had a better job than he could hope to get.] Things were pretty good then, huh? Too bad it's been kind of a nonstop fight before we came here.

Okay. Just make sure that it's something you'd enjoy, as well. [Man, she just scored an even better job, too. At Global Dynamics. She's so cool...] I think so, yeah. I mean, I didn't mind it too much? Made the downtime feel more special -- especially since we'd usually spend it together. That was my favorite part.

I will, but I want it to be something you enjoy too. I like the musicals and drama stuff, so it's only fair I pick something you'll like. I wouldn't drag you out barhopping or anything.

[He smiles a little, looking down a little.]

It was my favorite part too. [It was healthier for him too. He didn't like being alone, in the long run.]

I've never been to the dojo, either. Do you still work there? [Not that... she'd like to spend a whole evening there, but it could be fun. She needs to keep her skills sharp, after all.]

It was like having a big, extended family. I mean -- not that I don't think of you guys as my family. None of you really have a choice in the matter.
