T-shirts, cut-offs, and a pair of thongs
WHO: Beach Party People!
WHERE: The MAC, the party bus, a rest stop, and the Wildwood Beach!
WHEN: Friday 11am and onward into the afternoon and evening
WARNINGS: Possible make outs? Possible fights?
SUMMARY: Teens and young adults in an RV driving to NJ to have a drunken bonfire. What could possibly go wrong???
FORMAT: OPEN! There will be sections for different locations and times of day, so feel free to tag in and collect as much CR as you like!
Jessica was beyond excited. In the days leading up to the RV trip, she barely shut up about it. Even as she boarded the RV Laura had procured for their adventure and took the shotgun seat, she could barely stop talking. It was a beautiful day in the City, and the weather reports for their destination in Southern New Jersey called for blue skies and sunshine. It would be perfect beach-going weather, and it was bound to be the perfect summer night!

[Open]
[He's not quite sure what to make of the guy, but he's bringing beer. This means he is a friend and a brother. Raph extends a hand, offering to take one off Tom.]
'sides, alcohol just -- keeps me calm. Kinda like fake zen. Don't really get-- sleepy or nothin'.
[Open]
Yeah, I know the feeling. It takes a large amount to get me drunk, but anything else is calming. [He laughs a little.] Then again, I'm probably not the best example since I used to use beer as a substitute for water.
So, you would do night patrols or something?
[Open]
[Beer is good. Beer keeps the blood rage down. Raph is a remarkably calm, and yes, strangely Zen drunk -- thankfully, he's not drunk now, but just in a nice, warm happy place... that isn't quite enough to put him off his guard.
Still, he let the strange cat-man approach without puncturing anybody's lungs, so the beer and vodka is doing the good work in making Raph a happy, calm turtle.]
[Open]
[He gestures vaguely with his hand. It was probably a rude thing to bring up, but he was at least pleasantly buzzed enough to not feel that bad about it.]
If you're standing guard, I assume that you must do the whole hero thing back home too.

[Raph grins, but gets what the other guy meant, gesturing with his own beer.]
We're not like -- a lot of you. We didn't start human. It was an accident. Some alien waste, and next thing you know we walk and talk and do backflips, that kinda shit.
[He falls silent to take a pull off his beer, before exhaling a moment later. Ahh. BEER.]
Hero? Uh-- not so much. There's four of us and about a billion humans. We've learned to defend ourselves, keep ourselves safe, and hide. It's just -- this-- all I can think is my brother Leo going on about how vulnerable we are right now.
Then I remember I was at the beach today with people and -- I got some looks, but nobody really freaked their cheese. It's -- hard, I guess, to forget the last sixteen years in a couple of weeks.
[Beer zen leads to thinking and talking; he doesn't think that he's pouring out a lot of secrets and personal information to a relative stranger right now, but-- he's not thinking too hard about it right now.]
no subject
Guess I took it for granted that I can look human whenever I feel like it.
[He couldn't imagine having to hide and only go out under the cover of darkness, then again, he hid this shape for over fifteen years, but once he accepted it, he never had to hide it since it was just part of the hero game back home.]
Well, you're safe here now, more or less. I mean, weird shit and psychotics will try to kill everyone in the City every now and then, but that's not a big deal, and the natives are used to people like... well... us.
no subject
[Sipping on his beer, he listens to yet another person tell him it's Okay, and They're Safe. It must happen a lot -- people like him who live differently from others, coming to this place.]
I'm getting that. It's just-- weird. Will take some time. I just -- wish my father and brothers were here. It'd be easier to-- do things. But it's just me and Mike and man, I don't even have a fuckin' clue what to do. I'm not the responsible one, man.
no subject
I completely understand, man. I spent the first two weeks or so in and out of bars.
no subject
Neat.
Can't go hide in bars, though. I'm sixteen and I'm pretty sure they'll figure that out eventually. [He grins around the bottle as he takes another drink.]
no subject
[Okay, he's actually a bit surprised at that. He doesn't really know why, since it's not like he could have guessed the turtle's age anyway, but yeah, he definitely didn't act sixteen.
He smiles though. It didn't bother him or anything.]
Well, as long as you don't bring that up, I won't kick you out of mine.
no subject
It's why they fight so hard to let Mike be the 'baby'. The rest of them have forgotten it, for the most part.]
Deal. You're a pal.

Pretty sweet deal we got here.
