Jessica was beyond excited. In the days leading up to the RV trip, she barely shut up about it. Even as she boarded the RV Laura had procured for their adventure and took the shotgun seat, she could barely stop talking. It was a beautiful day in the City, and the weather reports for their destination in Southern New Jersey called for blue skies and sunshine. It would be perfect beach-going weather, and it was bound to be the perfect summer night!

[Charlie grinned and grabbed her friend by the arm, dragging her along.]

Well, if it helps, you look really good in it. I wouldn't even pretend to ever wear spandex, I'd look really crazy silly.

[The line is slowly shuffling upwards.]

I always think of it as her screwing in a lightbulb

You can so pull off spandex. Most young capes can, it's like an innate superpower- some are just smarter than that.

It just looks like her thumb is in a very strange place. An Existential Thumb.

[Charlie rolled her eyes but didn't disagree. She'd had this conversation with May before, and it always went the same way. Charlie saw all the girls at school, tall and thin and gorgeous, and she knew she wasn't. It didn't bother her, she was pretty.]

[She just wasn't spandex pretty. So the conversation disappeared as it usually did.]

Oh have you done the dark slide? We should do that next!

[Shakes her head as the dutifully shuffle forward]

Oh man, that would be awesome! They could play that 'dun dun dun' as you slide through the tunnel!

[More shuffling up some stairs.]

Of course! Though, you know, it's less racing and more just going down a slide side-by side. But bouncing to the bottom is still cheating.

[She grins, and then feigns an air of innocence.]

It's hard to imagine, I know. But I think I'll be safe, seeing as skipping the slide part kind of takes away the fun.

Yeah, that'd be pretty lame. Ooh, your turn.

[They have reached the top of the line, and Charlie gives May a little push forward despite the other having been behind her before.]

[It's hard to fight the spider-reflexes when something like that happens, but May manages to only cling to the water slide for half a second before she's rushing down, laughing the whole way.]

[Charlie waits probably about half the amount of time she is supposed to before she dives in after May, ignoring a shout of warning from the guy watching the water slide.]
