T-shirts, cut-offs, and a pair of thongs

WHO: Beach Party People!
WHERE: The MAC, the party bus, a rest stop, and the Wildwood Beach!
WHEN: Friday 11am and onward into the afternoon and evening
WARNINGS: Possible make outs? Possible fights?
SUMMARY: Teens and young adults in an RV driving to NJ to have a drunken bonfire. What could possibly go wrong???
FORMAT: OPEN! There will be sections for different locations and times of day, so feel free to tag in and collect as much CR as you like!

Jessica was beyond excited. In the days leading up to the RV trip, she barely shut up about it. Even as she boarded the RV Laura had procured for their adventure and took the shotgun seat, she could barely stop talking. It was a beautiful day in the City, and the weather reports for their destination in Southern New Jersey called for blue skies and sunshine. It would be perfect beach-going weather, and it was bound to be the perfect summer night!
hellisforchildren: (bet you think that's funny)

You're the one who tried to cut a guy's head off with a plastic sword, aren't you?

[ His first thought is that her problem was getting caught. You just never do that. ]

[identity profile] arachnopho8ia.livejournal.com 2011-07-18 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[She crosses her arms over her chest.]

It wasn't plastic, okay? I'm not stupid. It was just cheap as shit. I didn't realize you humans made such shit-tier swords. That's the only problem.
hellisforchildren: (keep this between us)

[personal profile] hellisforchildren 2011-07-18 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Here's a tip, just between the two of us. [ He taps a finger to his lips. ] If you bought it at the mall, you aren't gonna get much effect out of it.

[ He settles his hands on his hips, look Vriska someone might actually be interested in what you have to say? ]

So, why'd you do it?

[identity profile] arachnopho8ia.livejournal.com 2011-07-18 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[Her scowl deepens. After a moment, though, she looks down, still glaring.]

My ancestor. She's important, and really, really cool. I had to impress her.
hellisforchildren: (let's think about this first)

[personal profile] hellisforchildren 2011-07-18 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Great. Parent-issues. Looks like she ran into the right guy. ]

By...chopping off a stranger's head with a dull sword?

[identity profile] arachnopho8ia.livejournal.com 2011-07-20 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
[She looks back up at Alex. Is he mocking her somehow? He sounds like he's mocking her somehow. So she jabs a finger at his chest.]

Listen, lamer, it's a trophy. Trophies are cool. Pirates like that sort of shit. And it would prove that I'm not afford to get my hands dirty with business. I can't think of a better idea.

Except maybe using a decent sword to do it. Yeah. That would have been a better idea.
hellisforchildren: (might've missed something)

[personal profile] hellisforchildren 2011-07-20 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
[ Just gonna side-eye that finger, but not really making much move to deflect it. ]

I can think of a few other things. [ Like, uh, not trying to kill a guy. Or getting thrown into jail for it. ] Why so worried about impressing her in the first place?

[identity profile] arachnopho8ia.livejournal.com 2011-07-30 01:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[After a moment she pulls the finger back, because...it's not actually impressing anybody. And that's important.]

Because I've been trying to...you know what? It's a troll thing. You totally wouldn't understand.
hellisforchildren: (you really think that's how it is)

[personal profile] hellisforchildren 2011-07-30 01:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Still thoroughly unimpressed, but he relaxes a little without that finger-jabbing at him anymore. ]

Maybe the way you went about it, but the thinking behind it's a pretty classic teenage thing. Trust me on that.

But also trust me when I tell you it really isn't worth it.

[identity profile] arachnopho8ia.livejournal.com 2011-07-30 01:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[She folds her arms over her chest and tries not to look like she's sulking. It doesn't really work.]

Humans don't have ancestors. You don't know what it's like. To spend your whole life living up to somebody you know you'll never meet, and then you meet them!

You have your boring person-lusii, those "parents," but that's got to be a lot simpler.
hellisforchildren: (stop calling me grouchy)

[personal profile] hellisforchildren 2011-07-30 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[ They can be arm-folding buddies. ]

Please. Imagine having that same obligation to live up, but you do have them there. All the time.

I'm not seeing what makes that simpler.

[identity profile] arachnopho8ia.livejournal.com 2011-08-09 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
[She thinks about it for like, two seconds.]

They're there, though. They can just tell you what to do. Unless they're stupid, I guess. Then they might tell you to do stupid things and you'll have to ignore them.
hellisforchildren: (let me fill you in on a few things)

[personal profile] hellisforchildren 2011-08-10 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
Easier said then done. And sometimes they're not really stupid, but the stuff they want out of you's still...off.

On the other hand, they've been vetting you through the process for most, if not all, of your life, so you may not recognize it immediately. And when you do...well, let's just say it's a lot more complicated than you seem to realize.

[identity profile] arachnopho8ia.livejournal.com 2011-08-11 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[She makes a sullen face. He's starting to sound like he has a point, but it's not like she can just admit that.]

Humans are weird.

[That'll have to do.]
hellisforchildren: (i'm the boss)

[personal profile] hellisforchildren 2011-08-11 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
[ He just rolllls his eyes. ] Humans are weird. Trolls are weird. And we all learned a very special lesson about each other's cultures that day and how everyone's just weird as hell.

[identity profile] arachnopho8ia.livejournal.com 2011-08-11 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
You're not much of a teacher. Who are you, anyway?
hellisforchildren: (staying one step ahead of the game)

[personal profile] hellisforchildren 2011-08-11 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
And you don't recognize sarcasm very well.

[ He holds out a hand. ] I'm Alex.
