Jessica was beyond excited. In the days leading up to the RV trip, she barely shut up about it. Even as she boarded the RV Laura had procured for their adventure and took the shotgun seat, she could barely stop talking. It was a beautiful day in the City, and the weather reports for their destination in Southern New Jersey called for blue skies and sunshine. It would be perfect beach-going weather, and it was bound to be the perfect summer night!

...Um, how's Dawn? I haven't seen her in a while.

[smiles a little sheepishly, though it drops quickly]

She's good. You haven't talked? [inside Buffy does a little cheer]

Not lately. [He still looks happy though. Totally oblivious to this whole 'don't get close to my sister' thing.] It's been kinda quiet lately, I'll probably look her up soon though. I was kinda hoping she might have come today, but I guess not.

Yeah, I don't know where she is... [That probably sounded bad. Oops.] I mean, she's probably at home. Or with Spike or something.

[Wait, what? Who is Spike? There's a Spike? He doesn't know a Spike.]

[She rolls her eyes, considering making him sweat it out. But then she takes pity on him.]

Don't worry, he's not a threat. With minimal threatliness. He's an adult-type. [sort of]

A threat? [Genuine confusion right there. But he shrugs.] That's cool. Is he from the same world as you guys?

Cool. Means there's a lot of you guys here. There are more than I thought from my world too, it's kind of strange. I thought the Porter was a random thing, but maybe not.

[He's quiet for a minute, then looks at her curiously]

How long have you been here, Buffy?

Right around two months-ish.

What about the others from your world, any of them been here longer than that?

[Two months is starting to turn into something like a standard answer. Does the Portal have a tendency of throwing people out not long after that, maybe?]

Either way, least you got people from home.

Do you like it here? [He's not...entirely sure where that question came from, but whatever.] Cause I know we were technically kidnapped and whatever, but so far I'm not hating it. Sometimes I think it's better than home. Like, a lot of the time.
