Jessica was beyond excited. In the days leading up to the RV trip, she barely shut up about it. Even as she boarded the RV Laura had procured for their adventure and took the shotgun seat, she could barely stop talking. It was a beautiful day in the City, and the weather reports for their destination in Southern New Jersey called for blue skies and sunshine. It would be perfect beach-going weather, and it was bound to be the perfect summer night!

[She won't know the difference until she sees Mike, but the physicality between the two is amazingly different. Sure, both are musclar and agile -- but Raph's a slab of rippling muscle where Mike's the proverbial fancy dancer -- muscled, but more lean, faster.]

[She finished her soda a little loudly because carbs and fizzy drinks are all about fun and not training.]

It is possible to have a life outside of everything else. Hard, but possible. Why work so hard to fix things if you can't take a moment to enjoy your work?

Well, that's not all I do. You make me sound like Leo -- my oldest brother. He trains, and reads, and trains some more. I at least sneak out and explore the city by night and shit.

[Raph's seen everything that happens one way or the other on New York's seedy streets. Some of it he's seen as wrong, and stopped. Some of it, he can't understand. Some just boggles the mind of turtle and man both and he doesn't do anything there except wonder at the strangeness of it all.]

But no, I don't go perving on random people. I watch what you do, that's all. Can't learn everything from tee vee.

And what has this good city taught you so far?

That people are the same everywhere. Only the roofs are more crowded.

[Raph looks sort of bewildered at this turn of events. Does he speak some other language? His accent so thick? Weird people.]

Crowded roofs? You know there are some who have issues with the girls playing just as hard as the boys. I'm simply asking where you stand on that issue.

[Raph is totally bewildered! How did this become about gender?]

[Steph relaxes. She didn't mean to go all Amazonian on the poor guy, but sometime her mouth starts to function before her brain. It's a habit she's trying to break]

[Broad shoulders shrug once, and Raph can only reply with dismissal of the concern she gave -- it's not a big deal to him, obviously.]

[Throwing up his hands, Raph accidentally also sends a bit of soda here and there. Whoops.]

I can't win-- crap! Great. Sticky. Gotta paper towel?

[A small splash lands on Steph and suddenly looking at that puddle and then at the sticky turtle she can't help but laugh. Sometimes a girl just needs to get over herself.]

[She hands him a napkin and helps with the clean up]

Would you believe me if I say that not all us mammals are this bad?
