[Nill was happy to get out of both the apartment and the church. She had been cooped up since she had returned, and was itching to get outside. It was nice outside; warm, but she didn't mind the heat. The Underground had almost always been cold. Even her dress wasn't as puffy as it could have been. She made it to the cafe in just a few minutes, and paused outside as she looked for Rapunzel. Nill's wings flicked behind her back as she waited.]

[A minute or so later Rapunzel came hurrying up the street in her bare feet and dress, despite the heat, her hair tugged back into her usual braid, though a bit smaller than usual. When she spots Nill she waves.]

Nill! You look wonderful!

[Nill does notice the shorter hair, but isn't about to mention it. Rapunzel still looks pretty, no matter what her hair looks like. The girl returns the wave, smiling shyly.]

Sometimes I wish I could dress like that...

[She peers at Nill's dress for a moment or two, grinning brightly, and then reaches out to catch her hand and draw her along into the restaurant.]

I've wanted to eat here every time I've come past but I've never had a chance. Have you?

[Nill lets Rapunzel look, kind of... happy that she isn't being stared at in a negative way. That was usually the case when she went out. And then they're heading into the cafe, and she's shaking her head at Rapunzel's question. Since Luke and Danny had left, Nill hadn't really gotten out much. She preferred the peace and quiet of her apartment or the church. But a change now and then was nice.]

[Rapunzel waves happily at the greeter, who thankfully doesn't notice she's not wearing shoes as he seats them and hands them both menus. Rapunzel plops down opposite Nill, smiling still.]

I've never had any food like this. Maybe we should ask what other people like?

[Nill sits carefully, looking around the place curiously. She wasn't used to being in this kind of setting. But she does nod again at Rapunzel; Danny and Luke and Heine all liked Chinese food and the like, so that was usually the only kind of restaurant food she'd had.]

[It was a fairly average italian restaurant, lots of subdued colors and flowers, big windows, quiet music. Rapunzel is already looking through the menu when she blinks and peers at Nill.]

Can you order with your voice phone??

[She usually doesn't even notice Nill is talking with text but she didn't know if the waiter would acknowledge that sort of thing.]

[Nill follows suit, taking her time while reading. She's improved a lot since she arrived in the City, but her reading speed is still relatively slow. At the question, she nods and pulls out her communicator. Might as well be ready.]

[Rapuznel would've helped if she had known Nill had trouble reading, but the concept of not being able to read is pretty much foreign to her anyway. She is humming softly as she looks through the menu, though she smiles brightly when Nill holds up her phone.]

[She's about to say something when the waiter arrives with water, and she gives him a slightly lost look.]

Can you suggest anything to eat? We're...new at this.

[He proceeds to suggest half the menu, then leaves to 'give them more time.']

[Nill listened to him, kind of staring blankly. She'd never heard of any of those foods. Some of them had noodles... she decided she would have one of those, whatever they were. She turned to Rapunzel after the man leaves, giving her a wry smile.]

[Rapunzel was just as lost now as she was after the waiter had helped, and it showed on her face.]

Well, that was...helpful. [She grinned weakly and then peered at the menu and picked something at random.]

What's 'lasagna?'

[She asked mostly to herself.]

[Nill shrugs. It looks like a lot of the things on the menu have sauce with tomatoes in it... well, she does like tomatoes. She points to "spaghetti" and turns the menu towards Rapunzel, eyes curious.]

[Rapunzel reads the name and then smiles brightly. Oh, she knows what that is!]

I saw that on television. It's pasta, long thin pasta, mixed with cooked tomato sauce and sometimes other things. It looked really good!

[Rapunzel thought most of the things on the Food channel looked really good though.]

[Nill might have to start watching the food channel. She smiles, and nods; that's what she'll get, then. Curiosity is in her eyes as she gestures towards Rapunzel. What is she getting?]

[Rapunzel really had no idea what she was ordering. She continued peering at the menu, reading every option very carefully before she eventually came back to 'lasagna.']

I'm going to get the...Lasagna...it sounds good.

[She grins over at Nill.]

Well, one worry averted, right?

[Nill nods. Lasagna sounds... well, fun to say, first of all. But she's sure it'll be tasty. Her smile is back; she had forgotten how difficult it was to choose something to eat. She didn't often go out anymore, unless Damian asked her. Not that that happened often, but that was okay. She could only handle so many people at once, so crowded areas weren't always a great choice.]

[Rapunzel closes her menu and grins at Nill, fingers tapping lightly against her knees.]

I love trying new things. I hope it's good.

[Something suddenly clicked in Rapunzel's head, and she opened her mouth to ask something when the waiter suddenly turned up to take their order. Rapunzel ordered her lasagna, then looked at Nill and shrugged.]

[Nill saw that Rapunzel wanted to ask something, but ordering came first. When the waiter turned in her direction, Nill turned the menu to him and pointed to the spaghetti. He looked confused, but took down her order without question. She was relieved; she was used to it, though.]

[Once the waiter left with their menus and orders, Rapunzel turned back to Nill with that sort of 'everything is exciting!' expression on her face.]

Oh! Your dresses. When they just appear, like they did the other day, do you get to keep them? Or is it always just...one dress at a time?

[Rapunzel had meant to ask that before...]

[Nill holds up one finger to indicate the first option, and nods. She had closets full of these dresses in the apartment, and no idea what to do with them all. She had actually stopped buying clothing, hoping that she had enough to last her for quite a while.]

Oh wow. And do they look however you want them to? Do you think 'today I want a cute blue dress' and then...pop...cute blue dress?

[She shakes her head. It's hard to explain, really. Finally, Nill reaches into her pocket and takes out her communicator. She types for a few moments, and then presses the "play" button.]

Whatever I put on the color stays the same but the clothing changes so it is one of those dresses.

[It takes Rapunzel a few seconds to work through what she means.]

So if you put on my dress, it would turn into a dress like yours, but pink?

[Nill nodded, glad that Rapunzel understood. She remembered discovering her power while Danny and Luke were still around. She'd been so happy, then. Not that she wasn't now--it was just a different sort of happy.]

That sounds really useful! I didn't get any extra powers when I came here.

[She pauses and her head tilts to the side.]

Well, actually. I don't know. My hair grew back. That could maybe be a power?

[A little shrug. She thinks Rapunzel's power is much better than hers, to be honest. She would like to have long pretty hair and the ability to heal people.]

[Rapunzel seems to think it over for a minute or two, and then shrugs.]

I suppose it doesn't really matter. As long as it still works, right? That's what I was worried about.

[A slow nod. As long as it worked... that was a good way to look at it, for sure. It sounded like something Naoto might say.]

So! [Rapunzel clasped her hands together and leaned somewhat over the table.]
