WHO: Tom and Ggio
WHERE: Forest
WHEN: Weekend weekend!
WARNINGS: None
SUMMARY: Tom and Ggio go camping
FORMAT: Prose to start, then whatever

It was long overdue that he'd promised Ggio a vacation to get out of the City for a few days. They'd gone to the beach and have camped before once or twice, but it'd been a while since they'd had a chance to just get out and take a break for everything. Tom, for the record, didn't really like camping that much. He was a city boy through and through, and despite his wilder side, he was out of his element without concrete, cars, and streetlights. Still, Ggio liked being out here, and Tom wanted to keep the arrancar happy.

Still, it wasn't all bad though. It was cooler out in the woods, and it was nice to sleep in until the sun woke him. Of course, he'd made sure to pack enough packs of smokes as he could hide, since Ggio would try to throw them away, and beer to get him through the weekend, and an ice chest full of food just in case. He knew that Ggio wouldn't be happy about it, but Tom didn't really like the idea of hunting and killing his own meal. For now though, he sat outside the tent, smoking idly while he waited for Ggio to wake up.

"Don't worry, I'll get it."

There was no way Ggio would put up with going hungry, granted, he was always hungry. Although it wasn't really noticeable most of the time now, when there were so many things to distract him and fill his time. He was happy to unknowingly babble to Tom about all the creatures he could hear and smell, and tell about how he would hunt each of them, or about why they wouldn't make good prey.

He only paused when Tom suddenly picked him up, which wasn't something unfamiliar, but being placed on his shoulders. The arrancar blinked down at him in surprise, silently, glanced around at his new perspective, and finally laughed, batting away branches that threatened to smack him in the face. He probably snapped a few, even the large ones.

Ggio was enjoying his new perch too much to go chasing after deer, and it was too early in the day for that! Even though it was likely closer to noon, still, too early!

When the lake came into view, he bounced a little on Tom's shoulders, pointing at their destination.

"It's there! Hurry up!"

If he wanted to, Ggio could have easily moved, left Tom's shoulders and taken to the air or something to avoid the sudden submersion. But he knew Tom wouldn't let him drown, and the thrill of his action was too good to pass out. He let out an exhilarated shout just before they went under, hardly getting in a breath, though perhaps he didn't need it.

However, he wasn't about to test the limits of his partially human body, and he waved his arms around until he broke the surface of the water, laughing.

As much as the arrancar loved the water, he was still unsure about swimming in anything where he couldn't feel the bottom. Immediately, he closed the distance between Tom and himself, wrapping his arms around the panther, just short of wrapping his legs around him to and clinging to him completely.

"What the hell! Were you trying to kill us?" he asked jokingly. "All the fish will leave."

"My shirt now." Ggio's arms tightened their hold around Tom's shoulders, and he pressed their noses together, scrunching his up at the cold and wetness against it.

"I won't hunt while you sleep, that's not fair. You should hunt for me."

Ggio playfully bit Tom's nose at that, his meaning completely skewed. "So feed me, don't eat me."

Now that his feet were settled on the bed of the lake, he pulled away just a bit from Tom, rolling his shoulders. he was enjoying the nuzzling, after all, turning his face this way and that and tilting his chin up.

"This shirt is heavy."

Ggio just smiled at the attention, knowing he wasn't in any danger. This was Tom, he would never do something so primal.

... But he knew that when pushed, Tom could be just as fierce as any Hollow, and honestly, the thought of being consumed by him was rather exciting.

"And you don't swim in fur," he retorted, his tone light, and raised his arms.

Once his shirt was shed, Ggio sighed deeply, as though he couldn't breathe with it weighing him down. Really, he just liked the fresh air against his skin.

"Yeah," he answered. "Or your fur will be dirty." The arrancar tilted his head, expression cheeky. "I'll do the same."

And he pulled at the waist of his shorts. He really did only ever swim one way, and who was here to tell him no?

Ggio arched towards Tom at the slight touch of claws along his spine, purring in a most pleased manner at the sensation.

"We'll clean up later," he replied, not concerned with the details. When Tom had returned to his human form, he laughed, and threw his arms around him, jumping up and hanging off him for a moment.

"Much better!"

And in the next moment, he was off Tom and back in the water a little distance away. Dipping beneath the surface, then coming back up with a shake of his head, standing in it chest deep and looking around.

"Now where are the fish...?"

"Yeah. What else will we eat?" That stuff in the cooler? Bleh! Normally, Ggio would be all for some steak, but not when he could catch food that was living, breathing, swimming, and could bleed.

Amber eyes stay trained on the water, and Ggio idly flexed his fingers as he kept watch for the telltale flash of scales. But hearing Tom splashing behind him was too distracting, and he looked over his shoulder to see what he was up to.

And kept staring.

"Y-yeah...."

Only the arrancar was red in the face and so obviously flustered. He turned back to the water, but he was frowning, too distracted, so when a fish did start to creep towards him, Ggio's movements were off. Sloppy. He missed, and fell into the water with a curse.

"But Tom..." Ggio whined, but the growl in his voice soon melted into a purr at the nuzzling, and how he was pulled back against Tom.

He still squirmed, though, as if he protested the idea of putting off food for a while. However, that purring gave him away, as well as the way he stretched his neck for Tom. The embarrassment of his failed catch completely forgotten thanks to Tom's attention.

"So what now?" He asked, giving a light lick to Tom's cheek.
