Continuing her intense investigation, Terezi contacted Jade, whom she had really enjoyed trolling previously and who she was pretty sure knew about the things that had been going down in the City!

After all, the more witnesses she had the more fun she would have collecting evidence! This was a well-documented fact.

Terezi was sitting in the MAC lobby, cane across her lap, waiting for Jade to arrive.

Jade teleported into the MAC's lobby, immediately casting around for... Something? She really should have asked Terezi what she looked like, or what color shirt she was wearing or something. She wasn't quite sure what she was looking for, and when she spotted bright candy cane horns she was a bit surprised.

But that had to be her, right? Only one way to find out.

"Hi! You're Terezi, right?"

Terezi stood. That was probably Jade, but she didn't have a way to be sure other than to ask, really.

"That's me! Who wants to know?"

"I'm Jade!" And of course, Terezi got the customary Jade greeting, i.e., a giant hug.

"It is so nice to meet you!"

Hugging was...weird, at least coming from someone she barely knew. But she had a reputation to live up to--and Davesprite had set a dangerous precedent in terms of how humans tasted.

So Terezi took the close contact as an opportunity to lick the side of Jade's face. There could be no downside to this! Except for the fact that she didn't really taste like anything.

"Bluh! You don't taste as good as you smell!"

Oh and it was nice to meet her too. Yeah.

Oh god oh god did Jade just get licked? She pulled away, disgusted, and wiped the spit from her face. But now it was on her hand.

"Ewww, what are you doing?"

"Hehehehehe! I had to make sure! Did you know that orange Dave actually tastes like orange creamsicles??"

Terezi, for her part, looks totally unashamed. She loves having this effect on people.

She rubbed the spit off on her skirt, still making a face as she glanced up. "No, because I didn't lick him, jeeeez!"

This couldn't have been weird troll stuff, either. Tavros and Kanaya and Karkat hadn't licked her when they first met. Jade was sort of wondering what she had gotten herself into.

Jade would probably be able to get a few minutes of entertainment by asking any of those trolls what Terezi's deal was. But that was neither here nor there.

"Your loss! He's delicious!"

Jade wrinkled her nose and decided to just let it go. Whatever, this was probably just some weird trolling method.

"I think I will live! Anyway, how are you settling in?"

It seemed that Jade was a lot like John, at least in that she was totally sincere about things. Not trolling her into oblivion was going to be a challenge.

"Pretty well I guess! This place may be full of humans but it's way more interesting than the Veil! The smells are unbelievable!"

Terezi was certainly... Interesting, but Jade couldn't help but giggle at her. "Are you really good at smelling things or something?"

"Am I really good at smelling things? Is your friend John really good at being a total doofus?? Duh Jade!"

Terezi grinned at her, showing off her no-longer-pointed teeth.

"Nothing fools my nose! Heheh!"

"Hey, John isn't a doofus!" Jeez, trolls were such jerks. Jade didn't get it.

"But, er... Can all trolls smell like that?"

Terezi's grin widened. "Not the way I can!"

Jade tilted her head. "Why are you different?"

"Hold it right there! I may be steadily ascending the ranks of your friendladder but I'm not gonna do all the work here! You can figure that out for yourself, heheheh!"

And she certainly looked entertained by the prospect. Look, she is capable of harmless trolling!

She twisted her mouth. "Er... Okay. Um, you wanted to talk about Eridan, right?"

"Yes! I'm collecting evidence. Is it true that you've witnessed him committing heinous crimes?"

It was possible that Terezi sounded a little too enthusiastic about that prospect. Even though it involved people she liked getting hurt, Terezi thought investigation was pretty fun.

Jade's eyes narrowed as she nodded. "Yes! Uggghh, I cannot believe how horrible he turned out to be!"

"He did take a turn for the worse pretty unexpectedly! I was even a little surprised myself."

She leaned in, still grinning despite the serious subject matter.

"So tell me all about it! I need to know what he's been up to."

"I am not completely clear on some of it, but he is Gamzee's kismesis." The word came out a bit awkwardly, but she's trying! "I was going to visit Karkat, and Gamzee found me, and..." She trailed off, chewing her lip for a moment before forcing herself to continue. "He, um. Broke my arm. Eridan ran into us and he stopped Gamzee, but only because he didn't want my friends to get angry."

"Ampora is always desperate to fill his quadrants. I'd be surprised if Gamzee even reciprocates." She did in fact sound dubious about that. "So he's scared of the humans?"

Terezi's grin had turned into a frown at some point. It was hard (and frustrating) to hear about Gamzee getting up to no good.

"I am not sure! But he didn't hurt Eridan like I thought he would."

She frowned, toying with the hem of her shirt absentmindedly. "Eridan is afraid of Rose, I think. And probably John, but I am not completely sure about Dave."

"Strange..." On all counts. "Dave is definitely the one I would be afraid of! If I was a retarded wiggler like Eridan, anyway!"

"It's just that... Gamzee hurt Dave. Really, really badly." She bit her bottom lip and shrugged. "But I don't think that Gamzee is afraid of anyone."

Now that was something Terezi had yet to hear from anyone.

"How badly? Exactly?"

Her tone was sharp, much sharper than it had been just a few seconds before.

Jade stared down at her shoes, shrugging almost helplessly. "Badly. He was in the hospital for a few days, and his ribs were broken, and..." Her voice cracked and she cleared her throat awkwardly.

Terezi's mouth twisted into a frown.

"He always gets into trouble when I'm not around, huh? Talk about the opposite of cool."

But despite the casual words her tone was still serious. Ah, the awkwardly weaving ways of social interaction.
