SUMMARY: IT'S HARRY POTTER'S BIRTHDAY Y'ALL!

The afternoon was sunny with a pleasant breeze. A tent had gone up in the yard, and each of the main rooms of the house were decorated along the theme of a garden paradise. Enchanted leis and large straw hats were there for the taking, and various wizarding games had been laid out: exploding snap, a chessboard whose pieces currently looked rather board, Pin The Nose On Voldemort (with a variety of comedic noses to choose from). there was a table, already piled high with gifts but with plenty of room for more.

Food had been made and set out, and meltless charms had been cast on all of the icecream. There were wo big bowls of punch. One of them is charmed to be spike-free, the other...well. It may eventually dissolve the bowl and the table beneath it.

All that is missing is YOU!

Tonks blinked up at Luna. "You look lovely in yellow Luna. You should wear it more often." She then reached up and wiped some of the liquid off of her face. "Yeah. I'm fine. It's nothing my dignity can't handle." She'd gone through worse spills.

Luna blushed a bit. She wasn't expecting a compliment! "Thank you. Daddy says it brings good luck, and I figured we can get enough enough of that."

She looked around for a napkin or something similar, and alas, found nothing. "If it helps, I think you fell very gracefully."

She wouldn't have said it if it wasn't true Luna. "Good luck is always good, yeah."

Tonks flicked her wand at herself. The liquid evaporated but she was still sticky where the punch had been. Well, she had never gotten the hang of householdy spells. Why should things be different here?

"Thanks Luna. It's always good to know that I don't look like a complete clod."

Luna held out a hand to her. "That's impossible," she said authoritatively. "You could only be half-clod at best. They're a very elusive species, the clod, and not particularly... compatible with witches and wizards."

As always, it was never quite clear just how serious she was.

Tonks accepted Luna's hand and finally pulled herself to her feet. "Oh, only half-clod? That's a relief. I'd hate to imagine what would happen if I was a one-hundred percent clod. I don't think I'd survive it."

Tonks didn't know either. She just went with it.

Luna laughed. "Don't be like that. I have faith in you, Tonks, and I would even if you were full-clod."

Tonks laughed as well. "You're a sweetheart Luna."

She shook her head. "It's just very easy to like you, that's all."

How did anyone at Hogwarts not like you Luna? Tonks wondered.

"Oh, Luna..." She didn't know how to respond and it wasn't often that she was speechless.

Clearly, their taste was terrible. Luna didn't hold that against them, though.

"Have I said something wrong?" She did have a habit of doing that.

"I did?" Luna idly twirled a lock of hair between her fingers, thoughtfully. "I'm glad it made you feel better, then."
