WHO: Charlie and Luna
WHERE: The Batgirl Apartment
WHEN: Monday Night?
WARNINGS: Teenagers
SUMMARY: Charlie and Luna play video games and Luna asks awkward questions.
FORMAT: Para to start, then whatever?
Charlie had a spot cleared out on the edge of the room that she used for bouncing, and she had described in what she hoped was enough detail so Luna could use it for apparating in. The rest of the room was just as messy as usual, though she'd at least taken a few minutes to gather up all her dirty clothes and shove them in the hamper.
Otherwise? Messy. Messy messy messy. Even her desk was messy, covered with her laptop and school books and an old picture of Josh. Charlie was flopped out on a beanbag chair on the floor as she waited for the witch to show up, poking through the dashboard on her xbox.

As she asked, Charlie pushed the xbox back some and tugged the Wii forward, sticking Mario Kart in it and then scrambling around until she found the two wheel shaped controllers for pretty much her second favorite Wii game. She handed one over to Luna.

Grabbing the controller, Luna turned a contemplative gaze towards the younger girl. Idly turning the wheel as she debated whether or not it would be wise to do what she was about to.
"Charlie," she began. "May I ask you something?"
no subject
Hmm? Sure! You can ask me anything, Luna. Unless it's about school 'cause I'm not thinking about that at all till the end of the month.
no subject
No questions about school, then.
I was wondering... you seemed very sad, before I left, about your friend Josh. Do you still miss him?
no subject
[she frozen up at the question, and for several seconds poor Luigi just sat there at the starting line before Charlie's mind caught up and thought to actually have him go.]
I, uh. ...Yeah, I do. I mean. S-sometimes. I guess.
...why?
no subject
Because you're my friend.
I don't like you seeing you sad -- not to say you need to hurry up and get happier, these things take time.
no subject
I...I know he's not coming back. Even if he did he probably wouldn't remember me. So I'm trying. I guess.
I don't know.
[She sounds more mopey already!]
no subject
You can't be certain of that. I'm sure you'll see each other again, someday, even if it's not with the Porter's help.
It's all right, you know, to not know how to feel. But I am curious -- how was the dance?
no subject
It was fun. I mean. I went by myself. I wasn't gonna go at all but everyone got all...
[She shrugged.]
But I had fun. I got Reilly to dance with Cass and I danced with May for a while.
no subject
I'm sorry I couldn't join you, like I promised, but I'm glad to hear you had fun and--
Wait. That was the girl we were going to go dress shopping with, wasn't it?
no subject
[She gave Luna a grin and a joking shoulder-crash without really moving too much in her seat. And frmo the looks of things, Luna was going to lap Charlie.] 'Cause you came back!
Yeah! That's May. She and I went, she helped me pick out a dress.
no subject
That wasn't fair!
She sounds very nice. Why didn't you ask her to be your date?
no subject
[Charlie grinned but settled in for more racing instead of crashing in again. And then she blinked once more at Luna's idea, just sort of staring at her blonde friend.]
Huh?
no subject
Well, she seems like a good choice, and you said you had fun at the dance. Why not?
no subject
You just lapped me...
[She muttered to herself in surprise, then shook her head.]
May? But she's like...my best friend. ...and a girl.
no subject
That is a bit tricky. A friendship is a very valuable thing, something that really shouldn't be sacrificed to a sudden flaring up of hormones. Of course, on the other hand, if you really feel something you probably should -- but, wait. Why does it matter that she's a girl?
no subject
[Charlie so isn't concentrating on the game.]
Well. I don't know. I guess it doesn't matter, I just...never think about it that way. Or her. She's cool and we get along really well and stuff. She's my best friend!
no subject
Well. I'm not saying you should do something that doesn't feel right, or move on before you're ready, but... if you enjoy her company you don't completely mind the idea, I think it's worth considering.
Although, a friendship is always worth more than a few snogs. Or so I've been led to believe, I don't really do it much myself. The snogging, I mean.
no subject
I...don't know. The only person I've ever, uh...'snogged' [she giggles.] is Josh. Was Josh.
...Have you had a boyfriend?
no subject
Me? Oh, no. I wasn't very popular with boys, I suppose, since they all thought I was a little strange. But that's all right.
no subject
Well, girls then?
[Luna had brought it up, then.]
no subject
No, no! Ginny and Hermione are brilliant, of course, but it was never like that.
no subject
Just with Josh, I guess. I mean, I hadn't thought about it much before he asked me out, you know? And now he's gone and I guess I'm...not thinking about it much again.
[It wasn't entirely a lie. Charlie just didn't really have anyone new to focus on, or that she'd let herself focus on.]
no subject
But you can feel that way about more than one person, of course. I'm sure he wouldn't want you to stop trying to find happiness.
