[ He'd been waiting in the lobby to let them in. Sure, he didn't really have to, but it was a courtesy. It was a lot better than just sitting around up in his office, and waiting for them to show up and then popping out of the elevator as soon as they showed up. Great dramatics, but with Peter around, it would be like a slap to the face. He had to play the game. So he'd sat and waited, said goodbye to the last of the employees as the exited for the night. It looked good on two fronts, didn't it? The humanized executive, and showing Pete and Mordin that he thought their time was important to him. ]

[Peter had been planning on meeting Solus in the lobby, then having Tony paged by the guy at the security desk or just going up to his office. So it was a surprise when he walked in -- a few minutes early, for once -- to find Tony already waiting.

Welp, this sure ain't awkward.]

[Mordin on the other hand had shown up early- Salarians loved promptness- and quite quickly became distracted with exploring the StarkTech lobby while he waited. Better use of his time than standing around. Once he realized that Stark and Parker were there though, he came right over.]

Hello Stark. Good to see you in person, and out of combat suit. [And he nods to Peter as well]

Peter. [ He'd been about to say something snarky, until Mordin popped up out of almost nowhere. He was a fast little guy. ]

Ah, Dr. Solus. Please, call me Tony. Only enemies call ms Stark. [and allies who hate him...]

Well, let's get going. The elevator is this way, but we'll be making a switch-off or two. [actually, it was four. He just wasn't going to tell them exactly how many off the top of his head. Peter might know he has running schematics of his building in his head, but Mordin didn't. ]

[Peter gestures for Solus to go in front of him, then follows them both into the elevator.]

[Mordin, meanwhile, is oblivious to the awkwardness between Peter and Tony, at least for the moment. His mind is on SCIENCE as he stands in the elevator.]

No problem, it's definitely better for you guys to not do what I did. The porter doesn't like copies, apparently. It's bad for your health.

'Doesn't like copies.' Interesting. Most sentient AI seeks self-replication, imitating organic life. Lachesis apparently prefers to remain solitary. Interfered with your work?

He's got it in one.

Built a porter, porter blows up, oh and then the aspect of Desire brings me back to life. [ His description is so light, like this is an everyday occurrence. ]

Just another day at the office.

[This pause is so pregnant it's actually a giant spider about to give birth to itself. What do you tell your estranged mentor when he semi-casually announces his death and rebirth?]

[Well this conversation just got awkward. Mordin hadn't thought that things had gone that wrong. But there's something that tugs at him:]

Desire? Thought Porter was responsible for resurrecting deceased Imports. [He pauses to think] Hm. Of course, if AI was responsible for your death in the first place, makes sense that she wouldn't choose to bring you back after.

[An expression of dismay crosses Peter's face.]

Oh, jeez, I didn't even think about it that way. We all operate on the assumption that the Porter brings us back from the dead, but if she kills people -- heck, what happens back home?
