Well, it was a doosie, that's for sure. But then, the City was getting pretty used to that. That didn't make it any easier on the environment, though, and even ample helping hands were going to have their work cut out for them. When the all-clear had been given, they were out in force. Central Park was important - a prominent feature locals and foreigners alike knew and came to enjoy. Or...take up residence...Jaime still thought it was weird, that magic dude and his hoard of nerds. But some things were well out of his hands.

What was in his hands, though -- er, claws, at the time, in his suit -- was a large chunk of a downed tree. The walk paths needed clearing; the sooner that happened, the fewer treads from golf carts and small-time construction equipment would leave on the green, and the sooner the park started looking more like itself again. It was going to be at least three days of hard work, and Jaime was committed to at least two of them...Keeping busy kept him from thinking too hard, and there was a lot to think about.

Besides, it was nice to work one-on-one with the citizens now that people stopped calling him the Blue Guy. It only took, what? Two-and-a-half years to get them to break the habit?

Could be worse.

In any case...Heigh-ho, heigh-ho.

For lack of anything better to do (or maybe he's just tired of taking things apart), Ted has shown up in uniform with the Bug. She just so happens to be perfect for moving heavy objects around. In any case, it's hard to miss him because of the Bug, which he is currently navigating over a particularly large chunk of tree. Sometimes, it's nice just to be a helpful mostly-retired hero.

Hahah woops I forgot to date this. Let's say Saturday morning!

We're pretty sure that's the first time Ted's ever gotten a fanfare! Unless it's Booster goofing around. If he knew about it, he would be honored. Ted gave him a wave back and eased the Bug into somewhere large enough to park it, for the time being.

"You know it, kiddo," he replied, grinning. "What needs doing?"

"It does good with lava," Ted agrees, and gives him a grin through the window. "But there's not exactly any lava here, is there?" He considers the park, frowning thoughtfully.

"I dunno, any big trees that need lifting or something like that?"

"Could do shredding too, probably. But big stuff first."

He grinned and nodded. "I'd offer you a ride, but you've pretty much got it covered. Lead the way, kiddo!"

"Okay, that sounds reasonable enough." Ted nodded and maneuvered the Bug over a particularly large-looking tree. Yes, it did have a swing for him to grab onto just in case, but he'd fitted a claw to it in case of times such as this! (Think one of those claw games.) So he deployed it, eyeing the tree carefully.

"It's like the world's biggest carnival game. Except I don't win anything except satisfaction," he noted, glancing over to give Jaime another grin.

"Beanie Baby might be a little difficult to pick up," Ted replied, laughing. "This girl's good, but she's not that good. I guess I could fix that with enough tinkering, though."

He followed Jaime over shredder-wards, tree dangling beneath the Bug, and deposited it after a moment or two of careful maneuvering.

"There, at least that one's out of the way."
