TIME TO CLEAN UP AFTER CRAZY PEOPLE [OPEN]
WHO: Jaime and RESPONSIBLE CITYZENS OF ALL SORTS
WHERE: Central Park
WHEN: 8/12-8/15, all times of day before arounnnd 11pm
WARNINGS: Sweaty people? OR ILLIDAN, IF YOU STRAY TO THE WRONG PARTS OF THE PARK...
SUMMARY: Volunteer clean-up help at Central Park speeds up recovery time and the logical chance to use the park for future needs
FORMAT: No (whatever your heart desires)
Well, it was a doosie, that's for sure. But then, the City was getting pretty used to that. That didn't make it any easier on the environment, though, and even ample helping hands were going to have their work cut out for them. When the all-clear had been given, they were out in force. Central Park was important - a prominent feature locals and foreigners alike knew and came to enjoy. Or...take up residence...Jaime still thought it was weird, that magic dude and his hoard of nerds. But some things were well out of his hands.
What was in his hands, though -- er, claws, at the time, in his suit -- was a large chunk of a downed tree. The walk paths needed clearing; the sooner that happened, the fewer treads from golf carts and small-time construction equipment would leave on the green, and the sooner the park started looking more like itself again. It was going to be at least three days of hard work, and Jaime was committed to at least two of them...Keeping busy kept him from thinking too hard, and there was a lot to think about.
Besides, it was nice to work one-on-one with the citizens now that people stopped calling him the Blue Guy. It only took, what? Two-and-a-half years to get them to break the habit?
Could be worse.
In any case...Heigh-ho, heigh-ho.

"Hey, hey, sensei!" he called. "You here to help?
Hahah woops I forgot to date this. Let's say Saturday morning!
"You know it, kiddo," he replied, grinning. "What needs doing?"

"I dunno, any big trees that need lifting or something like that?"

He palmed the glass of the window and pushed himself away, getting a little height as he jerked his thumb over his shoulder. "Over this way. Follow me."

He grinned and nodded. "I'd offer you a ride, but you've pretty much got it covered. Lead the way, kiddo!"

The stage area hadn't been picked at much, perhaps if only because of a leeriness to be that close to a likeness of the troublemaker who put it all together. Jaime hadn't heard what was to become of the thing; himself, he kind of hoped it'd get torn down. It probably reminded too many people of a bad time and some substantial loss...And anyway, other people could stage it up, yeah? But at the same time...Use what you got, he'd heard talk before. He flew over the structure to a patch of cracked and downed trees. I guess oak doesn't like to rock that hard...
"So far, I've just been told to try moving the bigger stuff to where the tree shredders and dump trucks are stationed," he told the other Beetle as they drew near. "The stuff that's too scrappy or in too many pieces get to just sit tight so, like...nobody gets beamed in the head with falling branches and whatnot."

"It's like the world's biggest carnival game. Except I don't win anything except satisfaction," he noted, glancing over to give Jaime another grin.

Once the tree had been clasped, Jaime veered and led the way to one of the shredding zones closest, hollering a head's up to the hardhats mulling around below. He flew upward and out of the way once all had been cleared out of the Bug's path.

He followed Jaime over shredder-wards, tree dangling beneath the Bug, and deposited it after a moment or two of careful maneuvering.
"There, at least that one's out of the way."
