[ Sequestering himself in the kitchen, Peter was sitting up on the counter, simply waiting for Topher to come around. He kind of figured the other would show up sooner or later, Topher could never really resist the siren call of snack time.

But he’d been living here long enough, he’d known Topher long enough, that Peter kind of thought it was time to talk about a few things. He was still wary of the clinic he worked for, not to mention Topher’s most recent freakout regarding Buffy.. well, Peter couldn’t just let that hang in the air for the rest of forever. No matter how much he wanted to.

Taking a swig from his bottle of water, Peter sighed, rubbing at his face. He hated that there were issues with things in the first place, it wasn't like his life needed to be anymore complicated. And dealing with it wasn't going to be easy but it wasn't much of a choice anymore. ]

[ He goes quiet for a second because oh hay, he also.. no longer has a sibling. This conversation is quickly becoming horrifically tragic. ]

You had a sister?

[ ... they're so doomed. ]

Uh, y-yeah. Sort of...I think. It's all kind of complicated.

[When was life with Rossum NOT complicated?]

Sort of? [ Topher, stop not-helping convince Peter that there's nothing to worry about. You're failing miserably at this. ]

[WHY ARE YOU SUSPICIOUS!?]

Complicated, not that it matters. Look, I have it on good authority that I have a sister, so I guess it's less sort of and more newly confirmed. Lost siblings pop up all the time on tv.

I had one show up once too. [ Peter tips his head slightly; though part of him's still digging for information, he's mostly being overrun by concern for Topher now. Or, at the very least, intrigue. ]

Turned out to be a fluke.

[For a moment he looks worried, but he pushes that back]

She's real. I mean, we're real. Completely related.

[ He really isn't trying to make Topher hideously agitated so he smiles easily, though he's starting to have suspicions about more things than he wants to at this point. ]

I believe you, don't worry about it.

I'm not! I was just stating for the record that everything is real and full of siblingness.

Right, I got it.

[He slowly starts to back out of the kitchen]
