SUMMARY: Today is one of those days where the Doctor does something normal. Of course nothing he does can ever be too normal!

[He's standing calf high in the man-made lake at the park's center his trousers rolled up his skinny legs and his coat tossed on a nearby bench. People stare at him as he converses with the ducks and geese that have wandered closer to this strange being. It would seem that they're all having a fantastic conversation with the man although that could also be the large bag of stale bread pieces he has in his hand.]

You humans always so much bigger than you're given credit for. Someone very special to me once mentioned how much bigger you are on the inside.

T-Thank you, Doctor. Your friend sounds very wise.

Oh she is. She was ancient when I was young.

[That look on his face is called love, or as close to love as this incarnation can get to]

She sounds like quite the woman. What's her name?

[He blushes slightly but covers it up with a bit of tie straightening]

She's my TARDIS.

But I thought you said-- not that it's unprecedented, and it's fine if you feel that way for her, but--

I don't understand. I don't think most ships can talk. At least, not in ways we can hear.

She can't, well, not anymore. She did. Once. Once is enough I suppose especially after seven hundred years. We said hello.

Seven hundred years is a very long time not to speak.

But... hello is a lovely word.

It's a very sad word too. If you say hello then one day you must say goodbye. I hate that part which is why I try and make sure to leave before that bit.

I think most people dislike it, but in my opinion, it's even sadder to be robbed of the chance to say it.

[He pats her hand and offers a tiny grin]

You humans...just when I believe I have you all figured out.

When I get my TARDIS back I'll come back for you, Luna Lovegood. I'll show you the universe and it will sing to you. I promise.

That may be the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me, Doctor. I think I'd like that.

In the meantime... do try not to be so hard on yourself. I know, it's easier said than done, but even so.

[He goes to pat her head awkwardly and then offers his hand]

I have found that ice cream with flake and sauce always makes me feel bright again. Shall you join me?
