WHO: [livejournal.com profile] seeingeyespit and [livejournal.com profile] enigmaestro
WHERE: NOHoPE
WHEN: tomorrow afternoon? if that works
WARNINGS: Terezi can be a warning unto herself
SUMMARY: Terezi furthers her 1NV3ST1G4T1ON I mean investigation of Eridan by 1NT3RROG4T1NG I mean interrogating--wait I mean interviewing his moiral.
FORMAT: whatever you please.

Terezi has never been terribly impressed by places with white or gray walls--it makes everything smell the same. Bland.

But she grinned nonetheless as the guard led her to Edward's room. It was a grin that was full of teeth, but that didn't diminish the fact that when the guard deposited her at Edward's room and announced that he had a visitor she looked like a slight, small-figured human girl with candy-corn horns. The guard would no doubt be glad to be rid of her--aside from her disquieting grin, she had no doubt "accidentally" tapped his ankles with her walking cane a few times.

"Well hello," he said, his smile not quite reaching his eyes. His gaze was far too preoccupied to bother with sincerity -- it kept drawing to her horns. Curious, how they seemed to come in various shapes and sizes, from the very few samples he had observed. Eddie had wondered what Eridan's might look like, and if that perhaps had any weight on the boy's tendency to overcompensate.

It was a thought he couldn't help.

"Shall I get you a seat?" Normally he wouldn't offer, but Terezi was a young girl with an overeager stick. Part of Eddie feared for his own ankles.

The sniffing was peculiar. With an arched brow, he grabbed the singular chair in the room, shuffling it over to Terezi. He made no comment concerning the use of nose, figuring it was something that would have to be merely speculated over. For now.

"On your right," he clarified as he set down the chair. It was close enough to his own bed that he could sit comfortable in conversation. "I rather have a few questions myself, actually, I figured this could be a little fun exchange. I'm not overly familiar with Eridan's past you see, and I would love an unbiased record."

"Apparently I'm not," he said with a smirk of his own. "But it isn't as if he hasn't done me the same favor. Maybe we just deserve each other." There were worse connections after all, he reasoned. Something Eddie would never confess to Eridan himself.

"Goodness, you do know how to push a deal, don't you?" Eddie found himself rather delighted by the girl, as forthright and bold as she was. "Very well. What can I answer for you?"

"I'm aware that Eridan often finds himself in trouble. I'm aware that Eridan's kismesis brings out a darker competition within him, and that this often challenges his sense of propriety," he answered smoothly. His tone was polite and diplomatic, without deep affect -- Eddie, having been on the other side of a prosecutor many times, could easily slip into the motions.

It occurred to him that such a reaction, to this girl, was rather strange.

"He's already suffered negative consequence at the hands of Kanaya and Rose."

"He's a bit of a blowhard, don't you think?" The scoff was authentic sounded, and probably not entirely synthetic. "Eridan is rather vain and prideful, but he isn't stupid. He's no in position to make any move on anyone, but he'll sure been keen to talk about it."

Edward shrugged, leaning a bit forward. He figured Terezi would feel the effect of his edging presence.

"It's understandable, really. His ego suffered something terrible after Kanaya tortured him. He wants to save face."

"Would you doubt me?" Eddie asked, not without a slight incredulous note. The idea of a young girl -- human or not -- questioning his affairs was somewhat insulting. Nevertheless, he maintained that even air of politeness. There was little reason, after all, to be rude under such circumstances. Eddie tried so hard to avoid a habit of rudeness, while in a compromised position.

And NOHoPE was fairly compromising.

"If you're trying to prevent an outburst from him, I'd say watch for his influential forces."

"Oh, I think you know." He let her initial question pass, banking on the cover of a hypothetical. There was something a little too menacing about her smile -- or perhaps simply unnerving, but Eddie's own discomfort colored his perception.

"I understand the appeal of dark throes between youth, but I can't say I wholeheartedly approve of his consorting with Gamzee. It isn't as if the clown has a positive influence on Eridan," he said with a mildly solemn air. "What with being so homicidal and all."

He gave her a hard look, one that naturally unnoticed. Visibly, at any rate. After a hiss of a chuckle, he leaned just a touch closer. There was nothing particularly friendly about the nearness, not now.

"Why shouldn't he, I wonder? Folly of age aside, I have his best interests in mind." Eddie wondered how deeply this girl, this Terezi, knew about his ward. How much she knew, and how much she wasn't going to inform.

"But perhaps he can't appreciate that."
