in a pearl gray room one afternoon one afternoon ;
WHO:
kathreptis & OPEN to anyone interested in checking out her new magazine offices.
WHERE: Said offices, downtown somewhere.
WHEN: Thursday and Friday afternoons.
WARNINGS: n/a
SUMMARY: Donna holds an open meeting for people interested in a super cool superhero fashion magazine. Feel free to handwave the invite and jump in, if interested.
FORMAT: Prose is cool to set scenes with. Everything is cool to continue with. Feel free to timestamp and mingle, as well.
It was an interesting experience, Donna decided. Still operating under a tentative name and not even sure where the project was going yet, she already had a beautiful office and people interested in something she wanted to do. It was a good experience, too. She smiled to herself as she flitted from one corner of the office to the other, straightening chairs and setting out finger foods—with the high glass windows, natural light, and appetizers, it could have been a luncheon more than an office meeting.
It was a relatively small office, but modern and sleek. Apart from the reception, there were a dozen or so desks and two offshoot rooms, with furniture arranged to look like glass and marble. (She was an Amazon, there had to be marble). Once she was done fretting over the décor and arranging everything to be perfect, Donna sat down at one of the larger desks, running through notes and bills and all the other fun things that came along with starting an enterprise. It was there she’d be if anyone were to come in.

Thursday, OPEN
She ended up clinging to the wall as she made her way around the room.

In any case, she waved as she approached, smiling. "Hey. I'm Donna."
no subject
"Oh. I...I'm Kanaya. We spoke over the Network, I apologize if I'm interrupting anything."
no subject
"And you're not interrupting, at all. Have you had a chance to look around? What do you think?" She gestures at the office around them. "I was wondering if shouldn't go for more color, but then I figured everyone would want to personalize their own space, so..."
no subject
Her eyes follow the sweep of Donna's arm as she takes in the scenery. "It's certainly an interesting decor, though I hardly think one can ever do wrong with more color." Never ask Kanaya Maryam if she thinks something could be more colorful. The answer will almost always be yes.
no subject
She turns back to face Kanaya more fully, her eyes taking in the glow but not yet commenting. Instead, she laced her fingers in front of her and nodded. "So, we have the place, but the key is bringing in ideas. I want to split it into...three parts, I think. One with things like advise columns and silly stories and gossip, another focusing on high fashion and the like, and the third on exclusively City-related stories."

"You're going to be doing fashion stuff, right?"
It seemed obvious enough, considering Kanaya's hobbies.

And yes, she was always the most obvious with a magazine devoted at least partially to fashion. "We've...discussed some ideas. But given how I've never designed for a broader market, I'm not sure if I'd be up to the task!"

Thursday!
She wasn't sure how sincere Karkat's recommendation of her had been--she doubted it was much more than an elaborate trolling attempt at someone else's expense--but she intended to have fun with it anyway.
While her clothes were plain--black t-shirt and black shorts, the only decoration the teal symbol on her shirt--her bright red glasses and candy-corn horns more than made up the deficit in terms of color.
She walked through the main room, waiting to be stopped by someone or to run into someone, whichever came first.

"I'm here for the magazine," she said, grin still in place. "The name's Terezi Pyrope."
That was how badasses introduced themselves in the movies. Donna could feel free to speculate on how a girl who was blind by all appearances intended to weigh in on color choices in a magazine.
no subject
"It's nice to meet you, Terezi. Well, in person. I'm Donna."
no subject
Terezi didn't have much regard for personal space and had no shame about sniffing people--it was her way of seeing and it also gave her a pretty hilarious reputation.
She was, in fact, getting a good look at Donna through smell. And while she wasn't right on top of her she did have a tendency to break the edge of the personal bubble, so to speak.

“Hey there. How can I help you?”

Just so long as I don't turn out to be the Bella Swan in this equation, he thought, somewhat irrelevantly.
"Sorry," Peter said, chuckling weakly. "You, ah, startled me." He coughed one last time into his fist, then offered his other, clean one for a handshake. "Peter Parker. I was ... referred here?"
no subject
She shook his hand, then sat down opposite him. “So, in case you hadn’t guessed, I’m Donna. And I hope we make it worth your while to be away from the lab.” She said the last bit half-teasingly, eager to put him at ease.
