[ It didn't take Equius particularly long to get from the detention center back to the MAC building; his leg muscles were definitely one of the benefits to his massive strength, and Nepeta's re-arrival was just a motivator.

He may have made a deal with Gamzee. Aradia may have promised to make sure she'd be okay.

But he needed to see her. It didn't matter what other people did, he was responsible for her beyond anyone else, and the coldness that had overtaken him in her absence already felt like it was melting away. When he got to the building, unsure of her room number, he pinged her communicator through his communicator-sunglasses. ]

[ Nepeta was quick to bound out of her apartment, though she struggled momentarily to lock the door — her new human friends had told her it was probably for the best that she did such things. She was in the hallway within minutes, powering her way downstairs with a quick and eager hop to her step that could be heard by plenty of neighbors (oops).

Nepeta stopped when she was at the main entrance doors, not exiting the lobby just yet — pressing her hands and face to the glass to see if she could see him through them first before proceeding any further. ]

[ It's not long until Nepeta spots him and bursts forth from the doors, rushing to meet him. She dives onto him easily enough, though hardly with enough force to knock either of them over — noising out in delight as she nuzzles at his cheek. ]

Equius!! I was so mad when you died, I didn't even—I didn't get the chance to see if you could be revived, I—oh! [ She's talking a mile a minute, though she stops herself soon enough and tries her darndest to sit patiently and let him speak, her eyes wide and terribly eager. ]

I would have rather you had remained where I told you, than be forced to witness such a shameful display. I'm... glad to see that you're okay. I was concerned.

How long have you been here for? [ Her eyes are still wide with her surprise, though she stops and considers his words as he continues to speak — retroactively listening to all of them. ]

Shameful... display? What do you mean, Equius? [ Oh, she knows, lolthanksEridan, though she has yet to really realize the depth as it wasn't so immediate to her yet. ]

[ She blinks a bit at that, then frowns rather deeply. ] It's been... a long time then, huh?

[ She hugs him again, with all her strength, before she ultimately decides to get up and let Equius stand if he prefers. Holding her hands close to her chest in small fists, she tilts her head at him and smiles widely. ] But you are alive.

She frowns upon mention of needing to avoid anyone, really, but Eridan's especially interesting. ] Eridan too?

I suppose you're right, but I don't like it. I want to help my friends — Eridan is still my friend, even if he's done these things.

But he says he didn't do them yet! [ Still frowning, working through all these concepts. On one hand she doesn't want to go against Equius' wishes, but on the other — sad friends!! ]

As far as I know he hasn't. Still, if he remains this close to the highblood-- I request that you be careful around either of them. Besides, you shouldn't be friends with a seadweller. Miss Peixes is the heiress, at least.

[ Nepeta nods at his words, clearly only needing to be told twice. She's frowning and looking somewhat upset, but it's nothing she's not going to come to terms with. ]
