Seeing the Sights
WHO: Ginny Weasley and Jack Kelly
WHERE: Starting outside the Mac, and then around the City
WHEN: Backdated to 22 August, shortly after Jack's video post.
WARNINGS: Probably none
SUMMARY: They're going exploring.
FORMAT: However you like!
Ginny turned off the little phone device and hid it in the pocket of her jeans. Her wand went in the other pocket, and she pulled a lightweight jacket on over her t-shirt. After she'd made sure her hair wasn't doing anything drastic, she picked her way across the minefield of Fred and George's many explosive, hex-inducing products and headed out to the front of the MAC.
It was then that it occurred to her that she didn't actually know what Jack looked like, she'd just heard his voice. He could be any one of the people milling about around here. Hoping he would recognise her, she stayed around the door she'd just exited, leaning casually against the wall to wait for him.

"Ginny, yeah?" he said as he pushed open the door. He gave a little wave and pushed his hands in his pockets. "Nice to meet you face-to-face. Jack Kelly at your service."

"Hello! That's me. Nice to meet you too. Properly this time. Welcome to the City, Jack. Even though it's sort of your city anyway. Shall we go into the centre?"

"Where we headed?" he asked casually. Without waiting for an answer he set off at a slow stroll, his hands shoved into his pockets. The center could mean anything from Times Square to the center of the borough-- but honestly, it didn't matter. All of this was still so new to Jack that just about anywhere would be fascinating to see. Just as long as they didn't head into the Lower East Side, he'd enjoy this trip.
"Thanks, by the way," he added, giving her a smile. "For takin' me out, I mean."

“There’s Times Square, and Central Park’s not far from there,” she said. “They were probably there in your time too though, they’re famous places. I thought, well…maybe we could start there, and work our way out? I go there quite a lot. To the Park I mean.” She should stop talking any time now. Being a bit rambly. “And it’s my pleasure.” She looked up at him, smiling back again. “I’m glad you’re coming with me actually. It’s far nicer than going by myself. And besides I want to know about your New York! It must look so different now.”
wow thank you for that LACK OF NOTIF LJ hh I'm sorry.
"The Park'd be good," he answered, and gave her a smile, hoping she hadn't seen him falter. "But, uh, yeah, it is different. Real different. Lots o'-- well, hell, the buildin's are a lot taller, and everythin' is mixed up." He hesitated for a moment, wondering if he wanted to subject himself to it, before adding, "If we go to the Lower East Side-- that's where I grew up. I could tell you personally all the differences."
It's okay! <333 LJ is occasionally evil.
"That must be strange. I still look up at all those tall buildings and it's so strange. London has a few of them, but nowhere near as many as this. Nowhere near as big, either, it still feels a bit unreal to me."
This time, when he was quiet, Ginny knew she wasn't imagining things. She tilted her head. "Wouldn't that be very odd for you, seeing where you lived?"
