it's obvious she isn't speaking english but she has on a translator so at least she's understandable at some level ]

Not my sorta middle-aged guys, but uh. Hey. What... um. Whatever floats your boat, I guess?

[ oh look, she found the ones with Bond. that smirk is getting bigger ]

You would have to tell that to someone whose boat is afloat with such interests.

[She hasn't. Yet.]

Ah. I assumed you might, uh. Well, you're looking at them, you know? [This is a horribly awkward conversation.] -- are you even supposed to be in here?

[ flip flip flip. not even looking up. a beat and sliding that glowing gaze towards zee ]

Pretty sure you have to be eighteen to buy most of these.

[ small quirk of the lips ]

I think it's rather rude of you to assume that I'm underage.

Sorry. [She offers her a small, apologetic smile.] Feel free to assume things about me, then. Just, uh, preferably not the kind that involve my costume in occupations that aren't magicians.

[ putting down the doujinshi and turning fully to look at her, aura twisting slightly ]

I find that assuming can lead to unfortunate situations. Besides, you're a bit famous, aren't you? There's not much to assume.

[Because it will clearly make matters less awkward, she raises her hand slightly and offers a bit of a wave. It's okay, r-right?!]

Dunno. I've found that more than half of all information about me is an assumption that's been run with.

[ rose just raises a hand and wiggles a few fingers in return. ]

The downside to fame, I suppose.

[It's only when she sees her do it, that Zatanna realizes that it's... an awkward gesture.]

There are plenty. I don't complain about them, though, because this is my choice. There's nothing worse than a celebrity that whines about how people take their photos or people are interested in their personal lives.

[ she smiles a little and tilts her head, floating so her toes skim the ground ]

Mmn. How did your show go?

[Man what is up with that... if she were a Faerie, at least, she'd always be floating. But.]

Quite well, thank you. Will you be attending the later one?

Perhaps.

[ she shrugs her shoulders. ]

I'd be interested in seeing true magic, of course, not the illusions that people around here are so accustomed to.

I wouldn't mind that. I don't usually use it in my shows aside from the finale. True magic is natural to me, so there's a challenge in the stage magic for me.

Hmm. When one gets the taste of true magic, stage magic becomes rather bland. Unimpressive.

[ tipping her head to the side again and her eyes just glow brighter ]

But I'll clear my schedule for your show, Zatanna.

Really? I think it may be my true passion, beyond that of real magic. There's an art to it, if it's done well. And it... can carry over into other parts of your life. Things like sleight of hand.

[Misdirection at it's finest. Even now, she's doing it.]

I'd like that. Rose, right? I've never seen you, so it might just be a lucky guess. Or an unfortunate one.

Perhaps I just haven't been acquainted with stage magic enough. Surely your show will change my mind then, hmm?

[ she nods and then picks up the corners of her skirt, curtsying ]

One can only hope. I'd offer a full refund, but I do believe I'm paying for your ticket. Guess it'll give you the right to throw non-lethal items at me.

[Oh, jeez. Charming and apparently not a precocious little girl. Maybe. She offers her a sweeping bow in exchange, a little theatrical but genuine enough.]

Likewise. [She's standing upright again and sliding a few bills over to the woman behind the table and getting several books bagged. Not that she's ashamed of her purchase or anything.]

I will keep a stock of tomatoes at ready.

[ another quirk of the lips and she's also buying a bundle of books, some that are obviously not for her age and are... weirdly about imPorts. the woman looks tentative to ask her age, especially after the snake-smile Rose gives her before she pays for her books and turns back to Zatanna ]

You'll probably be rather busy this weekend then.
