No, you answered the second question.

[ Tonks is nothing if not helpful! ]

Oh.

[ She thinks of something suddenly. He's dressed up. His hair is sorted, mostly. She wonders... ]

Are you two going out?

[The glare that Tonks receives indicates that: A, that thought is ludicrous, and b: Snape really doesn't want anyone prying, regardless, thanks.]

No. I explained why Miss Maggotbone was coming, and if you are too dense to understand, that is not a problem of mine. Any foolish flights of fancy you many dream up, please, don't share with others. You are without a glimmer of hope or truth in your suspicions.

This is business. Only business. Don't repeat that other idea again. Last thing I need with all these idiot fans about is some new and horrible 'shipping' idea...

[ Defensiveness, check. ]

Alright, alright, don't get your knickers in a twist. I was simply asking.

[ However, the grin on her face indicates that she is likely going to share this thought with at least one other person. ]

Yeah... about that...

[ No, no. Tonks changes her mind. That's too cruel. ]

Well, I'll leave you alone then.

[ She takes a backwards step and that grin is there again. ]

When you two go out to supper, be sure to pull out her chair. Some girls like that sort of thing.

[ Tonks will be on her way now! Snape may overhear her softly half-sing, half-speak, 'Snape and Maggotbone, snogging in a tree. S-N-O-G-G-I-N-G...' ]

[Eyes narrowed to black, hateful slits as Tonks continues on despite his warning. Then, making the fateful mistake of turning her back on a Slytherin...]

[Snape's wand is out of his sleeve and a hex flicked with precision at Tonks. Have some stinging welts, and see if you sing after that.]

Shut it, Tonks!

[identity profile] fliesacomet260.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Her back arches when the stinging hex hits her. Ow! She can't see them but she can feel them on her backside and rear end. They hurt!

Her own wand comes out of the sleeve of her jacket. She whips around and fires a jelly-leg jinx at him. Really, Snape? It's not like she broadcast her little song over the entire network.

That's right con-goers! Nymphadora Tonks and Severus Snape are fighting. ]

[A flick back and a defensive charm springs up; Professor Sprout once despaired that Snape's potion and charms talent didn't go to the healing hall, but let's be honest here: his DADA instructor despaired the loss of a potentially brilliant auror to the Death Eaters. Snape could have been so many things, and instead he chose 'terrorist'.]

[Well, everyone said he was brilliant. But nobody said he was wise.]

[He doens't return the volley, however, and simply waits, wand out.]

Do you really want public humiliation, Tonks? Please. Mind your tongue, and walk away. I will not have you nosing about my business. Understood?

[identity profile] fliesacomet260.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Tonks opens her mouth. She's about to run it when wisdom and a bit of Mad-Eye's constant vigilance. Does she really want to get into a wizard's duel at Magic*Con. Nevermind that Snape totally deserves to have his legs bent backwards, someone could get hurt.

Besides, there's more than one way for Snape to get his comeuppance. ]

[ Off somewhere in the distance, a chant is starting. Snape. Snape. Severus Snape. ]

[ Tonks draws back. Her wand goes back into the sleeve of her jacket. ]

Do you? That wasn't nice of you, hexing me with my back turned. That's not nice at all. I'll remember that.

[Goddamn it, the fans. He was trying to keep a low profile.]

And I'll remember the Wolfsbane.

[Snape has leverage and he's not afraid to use it.]

[In the background, however, someone has started a counter chant for Hufflepuff; mostly because Tonks-Tonks-Nymphadora-Tonks is bloody mouthful, isn't it?]

[It's not like she doesn't have fans of her own... and Snape has plenty of detractors, despite his popularity, who join in just for the sheer fact that they don't like Snape.]

[identity profile] fliesacomet260.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Uh... I...

[ Tonks face turns a deep shade of red. In that moment, not only does she loathe Severus Snape but she's also not very fond herself. She feels shamed that might ruin the chances for Remus to have that potion. Tonks also feels furious that Snape would use him and that against her.

Her mouth forms a thin line. That is a low blow.

Fine. You win this round Snape. ]

I'll be seeing you around then.

I'm sure.

[There are boos from the crowd. Cries of bully, too. They don't like him leveraging Lupin against Tonks, especially the Lunks shippers. It could get ugly.]

Good day, Tonks.

[He's going to go -- find someplace else to lurk where the fans aren't so riled.]

[identity profile] fliesacomet260.livejournal.com 2011-09-03 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Tonks is just going to let herself get enveloped by the fans. Yeah. That's what she'll do, at least for a bit, at least until they get bloody bizarre with their questions again. ]

Farewell.

[ Smooth retort Tonks, smooth. ]
