[She sneers at the crowd.] There hardly seems to be a shred of magic among the people in this room. [With the exception of them, of course.] I don't think we need to worry about any potential threat.

Most of them are Muggle to the bone, but there are those elsewhere... They're certainly not. It would be best to know the people that may share our goals, and our strengths, in this City.

But you never were that cautious. Yours is the zeal. [ Of the fantastic. No matter. He'll cope. He gestures to the place.] What are your plans?

Nothing concrete. I'm meeting Draco tomorrow, but for now, I'm taking a look around, looking at what they have to offer in this convention. [Which she is beginning to think is not that much.] What sort of business do you have here?

Do be gentle with the boy. He is not handling the transition well. And he needs to adapt. We do not have what we did at home. [He will protect Draco, one way or the other. He can't keep Bellatrix from him-- yet. But he has to work to minimize the damage.]

I'm meeting with a DOI agent; she is coming to the convention to meet the actual magic users, assess needs, and so forth. Think of it as the work we did with the ministry.

[The government was the stepping stone to re-making the wizarding world, and if she wants to believe he's attempting the same here, the happier he'll be.]

I'm not going to be harsh with him unless he deserves it, Snape. [And so far he doesn't.]

And what exactly can this "agent" do for us? How are you sure that she's capable? That you can trust her?

See that you aren't.

[He leaves the subject of Draco alone entirely now, instead focusing on Callie.]

The DOI handles imPort integration, money for housing, work, and other items. Those pamphlets that are found, discussing the world's workings -- they do that as well.

Miss Maggotbone seems very capable. As for trust, time will tell.

You shouldn't bother. She has no cause to be loyal to us. [Trust meter = zero.]

As for this DOI business, you have one less witch to worry about. I can take care of myself.

[He didn't think he'd bring her on easily; just need to plant seeds to keep her mind at ease-- or as much as ease Bella is ever with him -- that he is busy with the Dark Lord's work, always.]

[As wary as she is of him, she does believe that he isn't scheming against her, at least for now.]

[There is a beat before she nods. He is better company than most, as unfortunate as that fact is.] Honestly, this isn't so much a magic convention as a gross over-appreciation of it. But as you said, it will be amusing, at least.

[Which is exactly what he wants her to think, since he totally is. Mission accomplished!]

They're children. Think of it as-- conditioning to accept wizards as their ultimate and rightful masters?

[He remembers that hideous Magic is Might sculpture and allt hat it meant.]
