[and speaking of today]

Finding anything of interest here?

A few new faces, but little else.

[The con holds little beyond the collection of magical folk, and the ability to get them in one place for a time.]

[He nods in agreement. It's all rather dull considering the group that has come together]

I fear I may have allowed myself to willingly be tricked into attending, not that I wasn't curious as it was, but there are rather more of the non-magical than I thought.

I've still turned it to my advantage. I'm sure you could do the same.

Leaching off the magical feedback of those present?
onewrongword: (Excuse Me?)

What a crass suggestion. No, of course not.

[Who do you think he is, Illidan?]

[personal profile] faithful_servant 2011-09-09 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
[He merely shrugs off any offense Snape may have been thinking. Magical addiction is fairly common in his world, so who was he to guess otherwise even if he was making a rather rude "joke."]

I've known others who were tempted by less in such a situation, not that this world would have any idea what to do with an addict.
onewrongword: (Bwah?)

[personal profile] onewrongword 2011-09-09 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
We don't have anything like that. You might as well suggest we become addicted to breathing.

[personal profile] faithful_servant 2011-09-09 07:45 am (UTC)(link)
Interesting. Magic in my world is tricky especially when dealing with dark magic.
onewrongword: (Say What?)

[personal profile] onewrongword 2011-09-10 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
Who mentioned dark magic?

[Careful, Wes... You're abruptly on thin ice.]

[personal profile] faithful_servant 2011-09-10 03:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[He's just going to stomp all over that ice]

I did. I'm not sure about your world, but in my world most magical energy comes from what was left over of the demonic dimension, so it sits there calling to those to touch the edges. Those who regularly perform magics are far more susceptible to this call.

[Yeah, he heard about Willow through the magic grapevine]
onewrongword: (Wary)

[personal profile] onewrongword 2011-09-10 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
We have no such -- source. Our magic exists within us, and within the world at large. Your worlds magics must be rare-- and at quite the disadvantage if you must contact other worlds for their power to borrow.

[And seeing how Wes has admitted to being a practitioner, he's now somewhat suspect as a dark wizard. Go figure.]

[personal profile] faithful_servant 2011-09-11 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Our world is more connected to magics than people realize, but the majority of humans like to live in a world where they can understand and prove everything. There are ways to access magic without touching the demon worlds. Harder, yes, but it's purer in a way.

[His own magics have been of a less pure energy at times]

[Snape is watching Wes with curiousity; but wariness, too.]

How difficult? Wouldn't the idea of not corrupting oneself with foreign influence be worth it to avoid the 'quick and easy'?

[personal profile] faithful_servant 2011-09-14 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
It requires a lot of personal introspection and for many that's a part of themselves best left uncovered.

[Himself included]
