“Possibly.” Ginny considers it, thoughtful. “The stories they have are more about a…friend of mine, rather than me. And there are stories about him on my world too. He’s famous. So it’s not that unusual for the story to be known. It’s…odd that I’m part of it, you might say. I’m not famous at home.” Far from it. And it was really more Harry’s past that people talked about. His recent history hadn’t been written about yet, even if it was spread around in rumours. “But…well, I suppose it’s not so much that they know me as, they know things I’ve done. Things I’ve said and felt.” Diaries that had possessed her, that sort of thing. “Things that I don’t tell people about, but they already know. That’s what’s odd.”

Ysera inclines her head sightly, agreeing and thoughtful. "If he is your friend, it is not so unusual for a tale of a hero to include those close to him. It may not be your story, but you are a part of it, as is anyone who touches and shapes his life. Some would be disappointed to be only a side-character. And some would be relieved to not be standing directly in the spotlight." Though there was a flicker in Ginny's imagination of a book, the memory sensations around it were ill enough that Ysera would not inquire. Besides, it would be terribly rude to poke at her history considering the current topic of conversation.

That made Ginny laugh a bit, and she shook her head. "I find the spotlight a bit bright, personally." She had, after all, seen what it had been like for Harry. Fame wasn't something Ginny had ever looked for. "But it's all right in small doses, I suppose."

Ysera smiled gently. "Everyone dreams of being acknowledged by others; it is no unusual thing to desire. Most, however, never need learn there's a price for being prominent in the public eye. I hope your friend can find his moments of peace."

“Well, I hope he will now.” Ginny smiled back. Ysera was a kind person. “Our world wasn’t very peaceful for the last few years, but I think it’ll be more so now. I’m hoping people might lay off a bit, to be honest. Although I doubt it.” If anything Harry would be even more famous now, though Ginny hoped people might respect him enough to settle down a bit. “Even that sort of fame is nothing like this, though. This is completely mental. People are dressed up and everything.”

"It is rather strange. It reminds me somewhat of the Hallow's End festival, where people would wear masks of other races, or use costume wands to change their appearance... But most here mean no harm in their game of pretend."

"Hallow's End?" Ginny looks up, surprised. "Is that what we call Halloween? It sounds similar, and people wear costumes and masks for that. But that's special, like a holiday."

"It is indeed a holiday. Once it was a harvest festival, but now the Forsaken also celebrate their freedom for two weeks at the end of October. It is curious how very many things are similar between worlds, while others are so very different."
