He comes inside owing entirely to the smell, the wonderful aroma of baked goods. He is still getting used to that smell again.

"Sorry, hello." Ned gives a small awkward wave, coming out of the kitchen. "I didn't see you there."

"I was merely taking in the sight and smell of this place first and foremost," he says, calmly.

"It smells marvellous in here."

[She isn't sure what made her notice the bakery this time. Maybe it was someone coming out with a bright smile, maybe it was a glimpse at the decoration inside that sparked her curiosity and guided her steps. Nina has promised to host a couple of her friends for some coffee (or tea), though, so the thought finally prompts her to step inside and see if their menu could provide some kind of contribution.

Her hair is caught up impeccably, her clothes wear soft tones and discreet cuts.]

[Of all the people to step inside his shop, Ned isn't sure why Nina surprises him. Perhaps it's her seemingly natural grace. But in any case, something about her makes him curious, drawing him out of hiding from the kitchen.]

Oh--[a mutter, barely audible as she turns her head to be properly greeted. Nina has to take a moment to look at the taller man.]

Thank you. [The welcome and offer are a surprise, so there is little else she can think of to say. She looks around, expecting to be allowed or led to take a seat.] It's just me.

[ It was easy to want to just disappear, forget to go out and socialize since he'd run into the Joker -- but Andy couldn't do that. He needed people, and anyway, he needed food, and he'd meant to stop by the Pie Hole again, hadn't he? Even if he's missed Tuesday scrapbooking.

He sat at a booth, hiding behind a menu. ]

Andy, is that you? [Ned wanders over, no hesitating to sit across from the other man, even if his movements seem slightly stilted.] You missed scrapbooking. [and boy did he sound enthralled about facing that alone]

[ Andy waved, grinning over at Ned. ] Yeah -- uh, sorry about that. Things got kind of crazy, but... hey, I'm here now. How'd it go, anyway? No riffraff, right?

[Erin came into The Pie Hole, newly addicted to Ned's cup-pies that she'd had during Scrapbooking Club. She hurried over to the counter, a spring in her step. Ned must had been in the back because he wasn't there to take her order, so her eyes wandered around the place as she waited, and that was when she spotted who she thought might be Andy.]

Andy? Is that you?

[ The menu went down and Andy glanced over, recognizing that voice. He smiled. ]

Erin! Hey! How are you... doing? How's everything? [ Seeing her is SO WEIRD. He has a million things he wants to ask but it's weird doing it all at one time. ]

[Sokka can't contain the degree of wonder with which he takes in the neon sign and the pie crust overhang, but then he's heading inside and the smell - is so much better than plaster pie. Though electricity still skeeves him out, the lighting is warm in the Pie Hole; dim and inviting somehow. Like candlelight. He settles into a corner booth and starts picking through his pockets for silver pieces.

They don't even have most of these things on his world, and he quickly becomes consumed in the menu, uncertain if he'll ever reemerge. That is unless someone decides to interrupt his very serious decision-making.]

[ Peter had initially come by to see if he could find Jim, and about the second he stepped foot inside the place, he'd forgotten that.. he'd been ported home.

Welp. That shot that plan out of the park. But he figured he might as well stay long enough to grap a cup of coffee, which was exactly when he spotted Sokka. Wandering on over, he tipped his head slightly, trying to capture the kid's attention. ] Hey, how're you?

[For once, there is no ulterior motive behind Jack Bauer coming into the Pie Hole and sitting down. There's no crisis he's working on averting or any burden he's brooding over. The man just wants himself some pie.]

[Seeing Jack though makes Ned think there's a case... That's usually why Emerson had come to see him at the Pie Hole back home. But he tries not to get his hopes up, rounding to the other man's table.]

Why hello there, random patron. [he winks. this is how Ned does discreet sigh.] What can I do for you?

[It was right around closing time, Ned sequestered to a corner booth as he watched the last of his patrons leave. But his gaze kept drawing back to the same spot on the floor, in obvious distress.]

[That all the incentive Shahrazad needs to wander over to him. She takes a seat on the opposite side of the booth feigning interest in the customers before turning her attentions to Ned.]

[Marceline, in a super controversial move that surprises absolutely everybody, has ordered a slice of the strawberry fields pie! Basically, there's this weird, pale, skinny teenager sitting at the "bar", probably hovering slightly above her seat because Jesus Christ what a godmoder, and systematically skinning and disemboweling her pie, scooping up forkfulls of the filling with relish, and raising them to her mouth so she can literally suck the color out of them. She's humming with contentment as she does so, punctuating it with the occasional weird slurping sound as she drains... the innards.

[Shahrazad regretted not getting to know Jim before they left. They were coworkers which were almost as good as comrades, wasn't it? For that reason, she resolved to correct that mistake this time. At the end of her shift, Shahrazad sought her out. She wasn't sure what she would say or do but, something would surely come up.]

[Shirley has been taking a short break for the past five minutes, sitting down at an empty table with a small cup of coffee and a trashy gossip magazine thrown open. As she continues to read, she notices Shahrazad approaching her.]
