SUMMARY: May goes to make sure Allison’s not along on the eve of her not!dad’s death.

[May didn’t waste any time getting over to Allison’s. Despite being out of costume and not having her web-shooters on her, she still took the high road when she could, jumping along the rooftops and relying on the dark to keep her more or less safe. Until she was almost at the door, of course. Then she shifted down to walking. As upset as Allison had to be over Electro’s death, any hint of Spider-Girl was pretty much a guarantee to just make it worse.

She knocked on the door without hesitating, then paused to listen for any movement within.]

[ Allison was managing to hold it together. The electricity in the air was making her roots stand on end, but her hair was still normal. She'd been fighting it, but sharp pain between her eyes belied the fact that she hadn't cried yet. She stumbled from her couch, and opened the door only after she rubbed her eyes to make sure there wasn't any water there.

Really, she needed to be careful. She was already carrying enough voltage to short out the MAC. ]

[And May hated getting zapped, but what could she do. It came with the turf. She slipped in, avoiding the hug she'd normally have gone for- because it was still Aftershock here, in personality and barely controlled powers- and just gave her a once over instead.]

Hey.

[ Alex clomped down the hall just as fast as he could. It had taken him a minute to dig out his boots, and there was no way he was going in there without some kind of grounding. (Or was it Allison who should've been wearing them? This is really something he should've read up on before.) He should've brought rubber gloves, too, but he couldn't delay too long.

He caught there in time to see May slip through the door. That complicates things. She'd already made insinuations about what this was between the two of them, and Alex showing up now of all times wasn't going to alleviate that at all. But he couldn't just walk away, either. It couldn't be worse than the last time all three of them were at Allison's apartment.

So he catches the door before it closes and walks right in. ]

I came down here just as soon as I heard.

Hey--

[ And then Alex came in. Allison was uncomfortable with all the attention. Right now, she wanted nothing more than to sit and bawl or at least spend some time angry and alone while she played loud music and threw things. Throwing things seemed to help. The sting was back, and she turned sharply when Alex walked in too. Just great, now she had two of them waiting to help her. ]

Why? [ It was cold, but she didn't know what she was supposed to feel right now ]

Because you shouldn't have to go through this alone.

[May blinked at Alex for a moment, but was ready to roll with the program.]

[ Jesus, why did this whole thing have to be suddenly awkward. ]

Because we know how much he means to you. [ Even if he really hated the guy himself and wanted her to put some distant between herself and him. This couldn't be about him or his plans right now. ]

[ She wants to protest, because he isn't her dad, he's just Electro, and that's supposed to be enough. She can totally handle this, she thinks she can, but every protest just sounds really stupid right before she makes it out. ]

Guys, I'm fine!

Okay...alright.

[So not believing her, yeah. Painfully obvious she doesn't buy it for a sec.]

But you can be fine with us here, right?

Because we're not totally convinced you will be without.

[ He holds himself back from saying "We also know when you're lying." Just didn't feel like the time. ]
