JUST LIKE IN ONE OF MY ANIMES

Tavros knocks on Nepeta's door, freshly returned from the pharmacy where he had freaked everyone out first by walking in and then annoyed them by standing in the cold and allergy medicine section for an hour. He'd studied every antihistamine in the place before finally, FINALLY, deciding on the strongest one. He also bought some red bulls and, after a moment's thought, some chocolate milk, figuring she'd probably like it.

Thus armed within and without, it was time to watch an animated human film about cats with Nepeta. After all the drama and training, he was actually really looking forward to a quiet evening in with a friend!

Nepeta need not do much to make her apartment acceptable for her friend's arrival. She was already satisfied enough that her couch was cleaned off enough for two people to sit comfortably on it, and she'd grabbed all of the movies she'd decided to let him choose between and placed them on her little table in her apartment. It was strange, living like a human would; but she was beginning to get used to it, little by little.

One she was completely satisfied, Nepeta happily waited for Tavros' arrival; already having shopped at the grocery store with Erik and Tali and finding that she had appropriated quite enough food for them both to snack upon while he was here.

Uncertain knocking occurs!

"Nepeta? It's me, uh, Tavros?"

He wasn't really...surprised that her hive would be messy, and certainly if this was how she was comfortable living, that was what was important. Besides, his own had been pretty messy, after it became too much of a hassle to try to clean without legs.

Nepeta practically bounded over to the door the second she heard the knock, absolutely delighted for the opportunity to have a guest over. She was smiling brightly as she opened the door, teeth grinning and wide and spiky in her pleasure. "Tavros!" he cried happily, before she was wrapping her arms around him and tackling him, dragging him into her apartment with a cackle.

"I hope you're ready, because I bought all the snacks!!"

"WAUGH!"

That is the sound Tavros makes as he...catches her? And then gets dragged inside anyway, because Nepeta is all limbs and energy, and over they go. Tavros manages to grab his bags as he's hauled bodily into her apartment cave.

"Heheheheh, hi, Nepeta! I hope you have all of the snacks, because, check this out, I have brought you chocolate milk!"

Nepeta couldn't help but laugh at the sound, before she was entirely distracted by showing Tavros to her couch and playfully shoving him toward it. She then seems to notice his bags and her eyes widen to eager saucers, mouth becoming quite catlike in its grin. "Oh!!" she declared, looking from the bags and to Tavros — and then to the bags again.

"Chocolate milk!" she says then, clapping her hands for one moment. "Oh, I'm perfectly excited!!"

Tavros accepted being herded onto the couch with cautious good humor.

"Yeah, uh... Tali'Zorah said something about, maybe, making sure you have food, and, also, some etiquette things I found online said, bringing stuff when you visit someone is polite. But, really, mostly, I thought you'd like it!"

Good god, her eyes were HUGE. It was a bit mesmerizing...

Nepeta could not help but laugh as she watched Tavros watch her, before she was furrowing her brow and tilting her head in his direction. She was going to ask what he was staring at, before she just shook her head and curled up on the couch instead — sticking out her feet and grabbing her remotes for her television. "I like it a lot!" she said then, grinning.

"Oh, and, I have a lot of movies, and some of them have cats in them, but you can look at them all if you want — I put them on the table and there are some by the TV and I can get them for you to show you!"

....suddenly tempted to just segue this into the cuddling meme...

"I am, uh, pretty sure that I am not allergic to movies of cats. That's, uhhh, not really, how that works."

He smiles a bit and rubs the back of his mohawk, before obediently going to look at her collection.

"Wow, they're all, uhhhh, really colorful. And you have a lot of them!"

Nepeta just laughed aloud at that and shook her head while she was lifting up a copy of The Cat Returns. "No, see, I only meant if — if you wanted to see movies of cats, because you probably came over here expecting cats, but also I have movies that are not about cats!" she declared.

Nepeta watches him look over her movies and she wriggles a little in her seat on her couch in eager interest — her lips pursed. "Yes! I bought some, and Tali and Erik helped too."

It kinda just popped into my head as a logical way to have cuddling happen!

"Oh. Well, I wouldn't have thought that you only have movies with cats, because you have many interests and, probably, there are movies about all of them. Human movies, it seems like, always have such short names... Oh wow look at this one!" Somebody found Record of Lodoss War. These movies all look pretty cool, so he's getting more excited about watching them!

"Orrrr...?" He takes The Cat Returns and examines it. "Journey to a magical world... this sounds good too. A fantasy story with cats, is basically, exactly right for both of us!"

Nepeta looks equally pleased, and she's sure Tavros will enjoy this movie. She's sure Tavros will enjoy any of her anime really, so she's eager to share every single thing on her shelf but she's slowly whittling down the list to a few titles that can actually be managed in one evening.

"Yes, I think you would like that one very much. They have very strange titles, some times they are just one word, and that doesn't tell you anything. Kind of like their names for beasts are very silly, and I don't understand all of them..." she was saying, before frowning deeply. Why were squirrels, squirrels? That still did not make any sense at all.

She shook her head to remind herself to focus! "Yes, we can put that movie in, and then there are others. But we will start here."

"Yeah, it sometimes seems like, uh, they have a lot of words, but at the same time, don't use very many of them."

He opens the DVD case and goes to poke at the player and TV. This sort of technology wasn't too different from home, at least. There...wasn't a terrible lot of room on the couch, but he thought it would be mean to say something, so he just sat in the spot she'd cleared off. Movie time!

"Have you, uh, watched all of them, already?"

Nepeta laughs somewhat at that question and she shakes her head. She's grabbing the remote control and hurrying over to the couch again, shoving a large pile of what appeared to be boxed groceries and clothing onto the floor as she did. "I have not seen them all!" she assured, before she was settling into her place beside Tavros with an eager sound in her throat, almost like a growl.

As the opening credits began to roll, she leaned forward in her place on the couch. "This one I haven't seen, but I have watched some that are scary."
