Sometimes when this place gets kinda empty, the sound of the breath fades with the light
WHO:
sweetvalleygirl &
undeadsidekick
WHERE: Jessica's room and then elsewhere!
WHEN: Thursday at midnight and onward!
WARNINGS: None probably.
SUMMARY: Jessica sneaks out of Laura's apartment to have an adventure with Jason!
FORMAT: Words
It was just before midnight and Jessica had given up on Jason coming to pick her up. Whatever. It wasn't like she really wanted to go out anyway. That was what she kept telling herself at least as she rebraided her pigtails and changed into her pajamas. Her feelings weren't hurt, not really. It's just that this was the first time her demands had gone unheeded with him, and really, it was an unusual feeling for her. Was this how girls felt when they got rejected? It must be something like that, she figured.
Sighing sadly, she called goodnight to Laura and switched off the light, crawling into bed with the puppy on the foot of her bed. The sooner she fell asleep, the sooner she could forget about stupid Jason standing her up.

It was only in retrospect that he thought of her claw-happy roommate and how that might not have been the slickest plan. Oh well.

Frowning dramatically, she disentangled herself from her sheets and went to the window to force it open and let Jason in. She pouted at him, voice in a shrill whisper, "You're super late, you know."

He made quick work of removing his gloves and verifying that all essentials remained in place during the not so difficult climb. "So you wanted to go out."
no subject
"I knew you'd show up."

Watching her dress, he gestured vaguely to the pastel pajama pants that dragged a little on the ground. "Is that all you're wearing. It's cold you know."

He looked toward her, then to the window, then back to her again. "We've got two options here. Either we go through the door like normal people, or I can take you down the fire escape like a goddamn burglar. Advantage to the first being, your neighbors think you're less psychotic, but I don't want any trouble from that Laura girl. She tries to shank me again, and I'm leaving."
no subject
"The neighbors already think I'm crazy," she said, voice completely deadpan. "If we go out the front door, Basil will bark at us. Not that Laura doesn't already know you're here, but still. Lead the way."
no subject
"Alright." He crouched down, offering an arm to her. "If we're gonna do this, piggyback is probably the way to go since I'm betting those shoes have next to no traction and you've never jumped more than about four feet before."
no subject
Deal with it.

And with that he jumped off the side, one hand pushing off the safety rail and angling their fall such that they landed solidly on the lower platform.

Again, he dropped to his knee and let her climb off. "Alright, let's go. There's got to be a deli or something open this late. We can get a soda before you have to sleep."
no subject
"We could get ice cream. I love ice cream. Or milkshakes." Her teeth chattered just a bit. "I like those too."
